A few weeks later, Rory and Logan were in Dr. Williams office.
"Everything looks fine here" the doctor said "how are you guys doing?"
"You know, I don't wanna say that it wasn't devastating, it was, but I think that because we kind of knew it was gonna happen, it was a little easier emotionally" Rory said
"So, do you want to try again?" Dr. Williams asked "we still have your frozen embryos here, so if you wanted, you can go on hormones for 2 weeks and then we can do a transfer"
Rory and Logan looked at each other
"I can give you guys some time to think about it"
"That'd be good" Logan said "thank you"
The doctor left the room
"You wanna do it" Rory said "I can tell"
"You don't?" Logan asked
"I do. You know I do. We always said that we wanted to have 3 kids, but I guess I'm just...I don't know. Scared?"
"Look, I love you, and I love the kids, and if we decide that we're done, that'll be fine. But, if we decide that we're gonna try the IVF again, that's good, too"
Rory thought for a minute "My risk of miscarriage is lower with IVF" she said, quietly
"What?"
"If the IVF works, I'm not as likely to have a miscarriage than if I got pregnant naturally"
"Is that your way of saying you wanna try it?" Logan asked, hopefully
Rory nodded
"I'll get the doctor"

2 weeks later Rory was sitting on the couch, reading with Nicky, and Logan was giving Grace a bath when the intercom buzzed.
"Who is it?" Nicky asked as Rory got up
"Uncle Finn" Rory told him
"Finny's here!" Nicky jumped up and followed Rory
"I told you he was coming" Rory chuckled and ruffled Nicky's hair "daddy and I are going somewhere so he's gonna watch you and Grace"
"And play with me?"
"I'm sure if you ask nicely, he'll play with you"
A few moments later Finn stepped off the elevator.
"Finny!" Nicky shouted and jumped at Finn
"Hi little Logan" Finn said as he picked Nicky up "how are you?" He asked Rory
"Nervous" Rory exhaled
"I'm sure"
"Nicky, why don't you go upstairs to the playroom and Finn will meet you up there?" Rory said
"Ok"
Finn put Nicky down and he went upstairs.
"Listen, they don't know what happened, and they don't know where we're going, so don't mention it" Rory said
"Ok"
"I'm also just gonna remind you that you're the only one who knows, so keep your mouth shut"
Finn knew that Rory and Logan were going to do the egg transfer, but he didn't know about the miscarriage.
"I know what you're doing, do I get to know if it works?" Finn asked
"I don't know..." Rory said "probably not until we tell everyone else"
"Hey" Logan said as he walked into the room, holding Grace
"Hi!" Grace shouted
"Hi there" Finn said
"She can't hear you" Logan said
"Where are your ears?" Rory signed
"No! No! No!" Grace shouted and shook her head
"Ok then" Rory laughed
"Is it ok that's she's not wearing them?" Finn asked
"Yeah, but she likes to talk now, and she can't hear got loud she is" Logan said
"Human noisemaker" Finn nodded "got it"

A couple of weeks later.
Rory and Logan were in the office, Grace had been in the office daycare for the day and Logan had brought Nicky there after school.
"What's the date?" Sheila asked
"April 19th" Rory said "let's hurry up and finish this so I can get my kids home"
Just then Logan knocked on Rory's open office door "Ace, it's almost 6"
"We're almost done here. Do you wanna get them and I'll meet you downstairs?" Rory asked
"Yeah"
A little while later they were home. The kids went to play upstairs and Rory and Logan went into the kitchen. Logan walked up behind Rory and wrapped his arms around her waist, resting his chin on her shoulder.
"How are you feeling?" Logan asked
"Better than this morning" Rory said
"And how's our little bean?" He moved his hand to Rory's stomach
"Still there"
"Good" Logan said and kissed her cheek "you know, Finn keeps asking me if it worked"
"We're not telling anyone until 12 weeks" Rory said "he can wait 8 more weeks"
"I don't think he can" Logan chuckled
"Too bad"
"Don't worry I know, but I actually had a thought"
"What?" Rory asked and turned around to face Logan. He moved his hands to her waist.
"We find out the sex at 13 weeks. Wait an extra week to tell people and then we can tell people what we're having"
"You're smarter than you look, Huntzberger" Rory teased
"Should I be offended by that?" Logan asked
"No" Rory said and kissed Logan
"Whatever you say, Ace"
"What are we feeding them?"
"What are you craving?"
"Watermelon, but we can't give them watermelon for dinner"
"You always crave watermelon when you're pregnant" Logan chuckled "What's the deal with that?"
"I don't know" Rory shrugged "something about hydration, probably"

A couple of weekends later, Rory and Logan took the kids to Stars Hollow. They were sitting with Luke and Lorelai in their house. April was also there.
"Go wash your hands, bubba" Rory said
"Why?" Nicky asked
"Because your grandma gave you a Popsicle, and now your hands are sticky"
Nicky ran into the kitchen. Rory inched a little closer to Logan and he wrapped his arm around her, allowing her to lean against him.
"Apple!" Grace shouted
"That's you" Logan said
"Me?" April asked
"Yeah" Rory chuckled "her speech still needs some work, but she is in speech therapy"
"Apple!" Grace shouted again
Rory waved at Grace, getting her attention "Don't shout" she signed
"Apple" Grace whispered
"What?" April asked
"I wanna sit on your lap" Grace signed.
April knew a little sign language, but she was still in the process of learning, so she looked at Rory.
"She wants to sit on your lap" Rory told her
"Come here" April said and lifted Grace onto her lap
A few minutes later Rory got up and started to leave the room.
"Where are you going?" Lorelai asked
"To get water" Rory said "I don't think I've had any today"
"Ace!" Logan exclaimed "it's almost noon!"
"I know. I know. It's terrible"
"What happened?" April asked
"Nothing, I just never drink enough water, and then I get headaches" Rory said. This was something that Rory would experience sometimes, but worse when she was pregnant.
"You need one of those water cup things that people carry around with them" Lorelai said as Rory got water
"I tried it when I was pregnant with Grace, because my doctor was telling me I had to drink more water, but I kept forgetting that I had it and leaving it places"

A few weeks later Rory and Logan were in the doctors office for Rory's 8 week ultrasound.
"How are you feeling?" Dr. Williams asked
"Nervous" Rory exhaled
"Not quite what I meant, but that's to be expected"
"Right, um... I've been pretty nauseous most days, but not really throwing up"
"Ok. Are you eating? Drinking?"
"Probably not as much as I should be" Rory admitted "I haven't really had much of an appetite"
"Ok...I'm not too worried about that right now, since you're not losing weight and your blood test was normal, but try to make sure that you're eating enough, and definitely make sure you're drinking enough water"
Rory nodded.
"Alright, you know the drill" Dr. Williams said. She started Rory's ultrasound "hear that?" She smiled "that is a strong heartbeat" she turned the monitor around so that Rory and Logan could see
"You know, I never get tired of hearing that" Rory smiled
"Same here, Ace"
