It was the middle of the night when Peter went back to the penthouse to find it reeking of blood. He runs inside to see glass all over the floor from a broken window and a blood trail that started out by the couch. He caught two scents. One of them belongs to his daughter. But the scents were faint now.
"Bella!" Peter yelled as he ran all over the penthouse looking for her.
Bella was nowhere to be found. Peter was panicking. He was scared, scared that something had happened to Bella and he wasn't there to protect her. He didn't know if she was dead or alive. Peter should not have left her alone tonight.
Peter spent hours looking for her, trying to track her scent but he lost it.
In the morgue of Beacon Hills hospital, the Anuk-Ite walked in and stopped at a body before him.
"Not what you were hoping to find?" Gerard Argent said coming into the room, with his back to the Anuk-Ite. "You'll forgive me for not looking you in the eye while talking, I've heard stories about how lethal it can be."
The Anuk-Ite stares at Gerard curiously.
"I know what you want." said Gerard "You want your freedom. That means getting rid of people like Scott McCall."
"The Alpha" The Anuk-Ite said in a demonic voice
"That's right. We both know that you can't beat him in a physical fight. You might be able to kill him with a look but you'd be surprised at how resourceful he can be."
"Your offer?" Anuk-Ite asked
"I will weaken him for you with the proper poison. Then you k9ill him and his friends and that will give you all the fear that you need to never get caught again."
"And you?"
"I'll drive every last one of their kind out of Beacon Hills. See this?" Gerard says holding up a bullet "A Silver bullet. Every legend has a little truth to it. Isn't that right? The legend is that you need silver to kill a werewolf. The truth? You need an Argent."
At Scott's house, Lydia runs inside, calling Scott's name. Only to get no answer.
A presence came up behind her.
"Hello Lydia." said Peter, startling Lydia.
"What are you doing here?" Lydia asked
"Looking for my daughters. What are you doing here?"
"Looking for Scott. Obviously."
"Why?" Peter asked
"Why are you looking for Malia and Bella?"
"Parental concern." Peter said, not revealing the reason why.
Lydia raises her eyebrow.
Peter glares at her "Why didn't you call Scott?"
"Why didn't you call either Malia or Bella?"
"This is...We're not...We're not getting very far with this conversation." Peter sighed
"I can't reach him." Lydia said
"Well, I can't reach either of my girls, or anyone." Peter said "There's reports that several cell towers in the area are down."
"Well that's not concerning at all."
"It's more than that."
"Monroe and Gerard?"
"They're cutting us off from the outside."
"And from each other."
"Which likely means that they've already started amassing troops on their side." Peter said
"Then we better find ours." Lydia said
Lydia and Peter went to the clinic.
Lydia looked around when Peter said "They haven't been here."
"We have to go to the school now." said Lydia
"Lydia, you never said why you were waiting for Scott." Peter said, still looking for an explanation
"Are you sure you wanna know?' Lydia asked
"Do I need to know?"
Lydia sighed "Last night, I woke up saying two words that might just be from a dream or it might be something else."
"What two words?" Peter asked
"Where's Jackson?"
Peter rolled his eyes "That is disturbing on multiple levels. What else?"
Lydia looked at him and went silent
"Lydia" Peter insisted "Don't hold back on me. I never held back on you."
"I saw you." Lydia spoke and Peter looked at her with a confused expression "turned to stone."
Peter looked worried
"I was in a storage container. It was steel. There was a blue wall. I saw everyone. Even Derek and Ethan. All of you turned to stone." Lydia explained
"Bella?" Peter asked
Lydia nodded "I didn't see her."
"Do you ever see anything remotely optimistic?" Peter asked in annoyance
"It's optimistic if you prevent it."
"Storage con...Do you mean a shipping container?" Peter asked
"Yeah! I was surrounded by them." Lydia answered
"I think I know where that is."
Peter and Lydia immediately drove to the shipping containers and ran out in the rain towards Scott, Malia, and Deucalion.
"Scott!" Lydia called out
Scott looked at her and Peter with a confused look
"What are you doing here?" Scott asked
"They're coming! Monroe and more. And they have heavy firepower." Peter explained
Suddenly the sound of gunshots were heard and everyone got down. Scott looked up and saw Deucalion take all of the bullets. Deucalion falls to the ground and Monroe and her army are revealed. They were heavily armed. They pointed their guns and shot at them. Everyone ran and hid away from the bullets.
They kept firing nonstop.
"Malia!" Scott yelled
A man aimed his gun at Scott. Scott froze in his spot. The man was about to shoot when the sounds of tire screeching was heard and the man was hit by a jeep. Stiles' jeep.
"Didn't think you're doing this without me, did you?" Stiles said from the jeep, leaning out the window
"Without us?" said a voice and Derek Hale revealed himself.
Derek shifted and took down two more men. Peter roared and he and Malia started fighting others. Some of Monroe's men were starting to run away. They got into their vans and drove away.
"Can't believe you didn't tell me about any of this." Stiles said, sounding offended "Not a word."
Scott runs up to Deucalion's side. The others gathered around them. Scott took Deucalion's hand to try and take some of his pain but it was too late.
"Gerard." Deucalion stammered "What he fears most...He can't beat you...and he knows it."
Deacalion died right in front of them
"It's really started, hasn't it?" Malia said
"What started?" Stiles asked
"It's an all out war." Scott answerd
Scott looked over to Derek and walked over to hug him tightly.
"As much as I enjoy the impromptu family reunion, what are you doing here, Derek?" Peter asked
"I found a pack slaughtered in Brazil. There were two words written in blood on the walls. Beacon Hills" Derek explained
"You came back for Beacon Hills?" Scott asked
"I came back for you." Derek replied
Suddenly, everyone hears a crackling noise coming from the jeep. It was the radio.
"Blood and destruction. Dreadful objects so familiar. All pity choked with custom of fell deeds. Caesar's spirit, ranging for revenge. With Ate by his side come hot from hell. Shall in these confines with a monarch's voice."
It was Gerard
"Do you know the rest Scott? Do you know your Shakespear?" Gerard asked
Scott looked over to Derek and he nodded as he hands the radio to him
"Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war." Derek said, completing the quote
"War indeed. Welcome back, Derek." Gerard said, sounding amused "You must all be feeling rather nostalgic. Are you pleased with the little family reunion I've gathered around you, Scott?"
"Yeah, well why don't you come join us and I can thank you in person?" Scott told him threatenly
"I have a few visitors for you, from London. Someone like Jackson Whitmore couldn't resist coming back to Beacon Hills. Say hello, Jackson."
The pack hears the sounds of electricity cracking and screams
"Do it again old man." said the voice of Jackson "Come a little closer. I'm gonna shove that thing so far up your ass..."
Jackson screams again
"Lost none of his charm has he?" Gerard jokes "You an find him here with us at the armory, Scott. In fact, I'm going to tell you where to find all of them. Your deputy hellhound met some friends while responding to a call at Eichen House."
"Jordan." Lydia said with worry
"Your father was on his way back from San Francisco with the goal of entering the fight but he didn't get far. You might want to tell your mother to skip her shift at the hospital tonight. Liam and his friends are there now. Optimistic of them but woefully ill-advised. And also, with me is a certain little Hale brat I've dealt with before. Imagine my surprise when she survived a silver bullet to the head, nothing more than a graze. But here is the catch, the wolfsbane is now slowly eating its way into her brain, there's no telling how long she has left without it being treated."
Everyone turns to look at Peter. Peter's face was full of rage as he tried to jump into the jeep to grab ahold of the radio.
"I'm gonna kill him!" Peter roared as Derek ran over to hold his uncle back. "That's my daughter! I'm gonna kill him!"
"This is how you wage war, Scott" Gerard continued "A strategic positioning of your army against theirs. Which is why you will come to me. You will try to save as many as you can. And you might even save a few. But your limited resources will spread thin. Ultimately you will fail. The dogs of war, Scott. They're coming for you."
In the armory, Bella Hale was chained up. She stood limp, dangling from the very chains she was tied up on. Blood was pouring down from the side of her head, where she was shot. The wolfsbane was eating its way through the blood vessels. The wolfsbane was slowly killing her, burning the inside of her head like a parasite. Time was running out for the young werewolf. Will she be saved or will it be too late?
