{The Next Day}
THWIP!
You let go of your web-line and somersault onto the roof of the building. You take off your mask and breath out, looking upon the sunset as you place it in the bag you left near the roof duct.
You: Right on time for dinner.
You finish changing into some comfortable clothes and sling your bag on. You walk through the door and start making your way down the staircase.
You use the elevator and go down to your floor. You walk down the hallway and make it to your apartment, unlocking the door and going in.
You hear sizzling in the kitchen, and then Clementine calls out.
Clementine: I hope you remembered to bring bread!
You shake your head in disappointment as you forgot the one thing she told you to get on your way back. You walk into the kitchen.
You: Well...
Clementine: You forgot it, huh?
You: You know...we don't need bread. We could use...tortillas?
Clementine laughs as she steps away from the stove and plants a kiss, welcoming you home.
Clementine: So you'd use tortillas for sandwich bread?
You: It wouldn't hurt to try new things.
You hear fussing nearby. You look over to your right into the living room and Clementine does as well.
Clementine: Look who's awake just in time to see his dad?
You chuckle and walk over to the bassinet, placing your bag on the couch in the process. You look down and see your four-month old son, Benjamin Reilly L/N. You carry him out of the bassinet.
You: Somebody must have super hearing knowing I just came in.
Clementine speaks from the kitchen.
Clementine: Or maybe you're just super loud.
Your son was born back in January of this year. At that time you also moved into an apartment in Long Island City near Queens with Clementine.
You hold Ben and walk over to Clementine, who's about done cooking and is taking out plates.
You: What's on the menu tonight, Chef Watson?
Clementine: Mango and chili burgers, it's a recipe I found online. Thankfully, we ran out sandwich bread instead of hamburger buns.
You chuckle as you look at Ben. He fusses as he extends his hand towards your face.
Everything so far has been great. You are with the love of your life, you have a son, your life as Spider-Man has been pretty stable. AJ also has been taking the load off of you as Kid Arachnid.
You think that maybe soon you can settle down officially, and he can take up the mantle full time as Spider-Man.

{A Couple Hours Later}
After dinner, you sit on the couch with your arm around Clementine. Ben sleeps in the bassinet nearby. The two of you are watching Family Feud.
You: I would so choke if I was on this show. I'd say the stupidest answer.
Clementine: It seems pretty easy on the other side of the screen.
Suddenly, there's a knock on your door. You wonder who it could be.
You: I'll get it.
You get up from the couch and walk up to your door. You look through the peephole, and see a familiar face that you never thought you'd see again. You open it.
You: Agent Coulson?
Aaron is in his suit and holds a laptop.
Aaron: Mr. L/N. Sorry if my arrival seems sudden.
Clementine gets up and looks over at the door. She sees Aaron as well.
Clementine: Aaron, what brings you here?
You step aside and let Aaron inside. The two of you are pretty friendly with the agent, since he was big factor in saving your life. All in all he seems like a nice guy too.
Aaron steps into the living room and looks around. He sees the bassinet and Ben sleeping inside.
Aaron: Congratulations.
Clementine: Thank you. Have a seat. You want something to drink?
Aaron: No, it's fine. Thank you for your hospitality. I'm not going to stay long.
He looks at you and starts handing over the high-tech laptop.
Aaron: We need you to look this over.
You: What's this about?
You start going over to the dining table nearby and put the laptop down. You open it up.
Aaron: Something's happened that can possibly put everybody on earth in danger.
You give a look, then log into the laptop. Immediately, there's pop-ups giving information of a blue cube, including profiles of three other people.
Aaron: A man named Loki stole a cosmic cube called the Tesseract. He killed many agents of ours and mind controlled some of our own, including Daryl Dixon.
You remember Daryl, or better known as Hawkeye. He helped you and AJ take down the New Frontier.
You: What are you guys doing with a...space cube anyway?
Aaron: I can't really disclose that information.
Clementine listens in as she goes over to sit in the seat next to you. Aaron looks at his watch.
Aaron: I have to get going now. Please, call me soon when you debrief yourself.
He walks back over to the door.
You: Are your going to want your laptop back?
Aaron: Keep it.
He opens the door and leaves.
You: Okay, then.
You look back at the screen and continue scrolling through the information on the laptop.
You read more about the Tesseract, which its information is limited based on the fact that most of it is classified. You also start going through the profiles of people, who you realize are super-powered in a way, like you.
The first is Steve Rogers.

He served in World War II and donned the name Captain America after being injected with a super-serum. He was pronounced K.I.A towards the end of the war, but was found in ice recently, almost 70 years later. You remember hearing about him during history class in high school but they never went too in depth.
The second is Bruce Banner.

He is a renowned scientist who worked in gamma radiation. He was commissioned to replicate the Super Soldier Serum that was used on Steve Rodgers, but it went awry. The experiment caused him to transform into a huge, rage-fueled creature known as the Hulk when he gets enraged.
The third and final profile to look at is of a man named Thor, who once went by the alias Donald Blake.

There is not much information, but it details how he is not from Earth, and is from a place called Asgard. The statement that pops out to you is that he is the God of Thunder.
You: This is fucking insane.
Clementine was looking over the information with you, and she responds.
Clementine: What is all this? Why is Agent Coulson showing you this?
You remember how Jesus told you about his plan on gathering a group of extraordinary individuals to battle those that regular people can't.
You: The Avengers Initiative. I think these are some of the people they've recruited.
Clementine: That plan? I thought Aaron told you it was scrapped.
You: I guess things change.
You read more of the files, and see that they've contacted Tony Stark as well. You don't know if he's an official part of the initiative, though.
You begin to think. S.H.I.E.L.D is asking for help again. When Jesus first told you about his plan, you simply told him you'd talk to him again once you made your decision. It's been almost a year since then, and now that a real threat has arose...it might be time to make your decision.
Clementine: What are you thinking, tiger?
You: My parents gave their lives to protect the world. What I'm doing now, mirrors that in a way...
You sigh.
You: I might have to go, Clem. I need to see what I can do to help.
Clementine puts her hand on top of yours. You place your other hand on top of it.
Clementine: I know you too well to think you'd say no to this. So if you want to, I'm not going to stop you.
You nod and give a light smile. Clementine looks over at the bassinet nearby, then back at you.
Clementine: Just go save the world and come back to us, okay?
That is one promise you'll never break.
You: Of course, Clem.
