I snuck downstairs to the kitchen to get the house phone.
My mom was in her room.
I tried to be as quite as possible.
I tiptoed to the phone next to the kitchen table and dialed Charles number .
I felt bad for knowing his number by heart.
I didn't even know Zulia's number by heart.
I sure my mom didn't even know Charles number by heart.
"Hello ?" He said.
"Hey..this Storm...look..do not text or call my phone..my mom has it.."
"Why?" He asked.
"She put me on punishment."
"Why?" He asked again.
"Because , I didn't come home last night..Charles..I can't talk long."
I hung up on him.
I ran upstairs & met my mom at the top.
She was looking at me with her arms folded.
"What's wrong ?"I asked nervously.
"Who were you on the phone with ? Do I have to unplug the land line Storm ?"
I shook my head , "No...I just was letting Zulia know that you had my phone and to not call me."
My mom gave me a fierce look , then turned to walk back into her room , "Stay away from that phone Storm or I'm adding another week to your punishment ."
I rolled my eyes at her and went into my room.
The house was so awkward without Charles being there.
I missed him so much.
I couldn't talk to him or see him since I was on punishment.
My mom was walking around the house sad and crying everyday.
I never seen her smoke so many damn cigarettes.
At my locker at school, Zulia was acting real funny with me.
"I'm sorry for how I been acting Zulia..I just had a lot on my mind..plus I was mad that u left me for rape with Peter."
Zulia slammed our locker, "Girl! Get over your self !"
She rolled her eyes, and headed off to class.
"Bitch!" I said under my breath, then walked the opposite way from her to my class.
