"M-mom I lo—" "I took it to replace it with a better one Mrs. Seo" Jeno interjected Jihae. "That's so sweet of you Jeno" Mrs. Seo smiled at him making everyone sigh in relief that she didn't doubt his lie. "Also call me Mom not Mrs. Seo" She said pointing at herself and Jeno nodded, giving her a smile.
After everyone was done having their dinner, they decided to head back home. "You coming tomorrow?" Renjun asked and she nodded in response before biding the a goodbye and closed the door behind her.

8:12 "You can leave early today" The lady said and Jaemin exited the store. Walking towards where he parked his bicycle he saw Renjun far away- approaching him.
Renjun waved at him before running up to Jaemin. "Hey man, long time" Renjun gave him a high five as they walked alongside each other. "What's with the sudden visit?" Jaemin asked. "Jihae is alright, she'll be coming to school tomorrow as well. We just visited her" Renjun explained and relief washed over the boy hearing that she was fine.
"Why are you saying all of this to me?" Jaemin asked, looking at Renjun. "I'm not stupid okay? I know you'd been worrying about her all this time" Renjun lightly punched his arm earning a laugh from Jaemin. The notification sound from his phone, diverted their attention towards it. Stopping on his track, he unlocked his phone to see the message.

Can we meet? I need to talk to you
Renjun snatched the phone from Jaemin, typing something on the screen despite Jaemin trying to take it back. With a proud smile plastered on his face, he handed the phone back to him.
Okay The same place we met last time

"How did you know we met before?" Jaemin raised a brow, reading the texts Renjun typed. "Jihae doesn't keep a secret from me you know?" Renjun wiggled his brow with a smug smile on his face. "You think she won't know it's not me?" Jaemin laughed, sliding the phone in his pocket. "I don't think she cares about that. Don't fuck it up this time Jaemin" Renjun said, patting his shoulder. "I'll get going then. Have fun" Renjun winked, waving at him before walking towards his car.
8:23 Jihae was waiting for him by the bench. Her hands on the railing as she watched the river beneath- the gushing waves thrashing against the pillars of the bridge, the ebbing tide harmonious as the air around filled with cold, fresh breeze- her eyes close, it soothing her nerves. The ambience beguiling her so much that she didn't notice his presence beside her.
Breathing out calmly, she opened her eyes. Feeling someone's presence she looked to her side and slightly flinched seeing the boy next to her- already staring at her with his chestnut brown eyes.
"Oh. When did you come?" She asked looking at the front. "Not long ago" He said looking down at the waves under as he spoke. "How are you feeling?" He asked, pointing at where she was hurt. "Good and it's all your credit. I couldn't even thank you after being treated" Jihae shook her head.
"Jihae.." He began, still looking down and she hummed in response for him to continue. "Why did you stop Jeno?" He asked, eyes trailing over her side profile as she looked up at the night sky illuminated with the bright moonlight and stars. "Cause I hate seeing people fight?" She replied, unsure about her own answer.
"Why do you still trust me? Despite everything I told you" He asked, fidgeting with his fingers, waiting for she reply. "I just do Jaemin. I know it isn't you" She said smiling at him as she looked at his dark silhouette- since the street light was focused in her direction. "How?" He questioned, now turning his whole body to face her. "You're the type to consider stealing too much of work- you would never" She answered, looking ahead- feeling extremely conscious since she could feel his gaze on her. He laughed at her reply.
"I was stupid to not trust you. I don't know what I was thinking back then" "I realized it too late but I trust you Jihae, I do" He said making the girl look at him with her round eyes- taken aback by his words.
"I didn't realize how empty it felt not having my friend around me- the only person who trusted me. I regret it Jihae. I wish things could go back to how they were before" He said looking down at the girl, expectantly, eyes not leaving hers.
"They can. We can be friends again" Jihae said, her lips curled up into a smile as she looked at the boy in front of her. His eyes widened and a smile spread on his face upon registering her words.
"Don't hide your pretty smile Jaem, it suits you" Her words made him look away, face flushed at her compliment, mentally thanking the street light for not gleaming down his face. The strange feeling he felt at her calling him 'Jaem' again- the words he longed to hear. The feeling of loneliness that he feared no longer lingering in him anymore..
