"I swear if this restricts my swing, I'm taking it off mid-match."

White only chuckled. "We'll see."

Chapter Three: Match Made in Mayhem

Later that afternoon, you walked alongside Martha, both of you brimming with anticipation.

"Ready to test your new gear?" she asked.

"As ready as I'll ever be," you grinned. "You?"

She adjusted her gloves. "Always."

Inside the match waiting room, Aesop was already seated, arms folded, eyes flicking toward you before giving a silent nod. You smiled back and settled beside him. Eli arrived soon after, his owl perched comfortably on his shoulder, and the four of you quietly discussed strategies.

When the game began, you found yourself dropped into your favorite map: Sacred Heart Hospital. The shattered glass echoed in your ears as you sprinted toward a nearby cipher, heart steady.

Martha had trained you well — your decoding speed was efficient, your calibrations flawless. Three ciphers popped in quick succession. The team was doing beautifully.

Until the fourth one.

You began decoding the final cipher, adrenaline pumping... but so was your heartbeat.

Too fast.

You glanced around. No hunter.

Not yet.

Then a flicker of movement — too fast, too sharp — and you knew. It was him.

The final cipher popped just as pain burst across your back. You gasped, dropping to your knees.

"Martha, get out! Don't rescue!" you shouted into the communicator.

You turned to look — and froze.

There stood Wu Chang. Or rather, Black. Towering. Imposing. Wrapped in obsidian robes with intricate golden embroidery and a hat that shadowed his face like a lord from an ancient legend.

You stared.

"...Wow."

He blinked.

"What?"

"Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned," you mumbled aloud, dazed.

Black flinched. "Y/N... are you seriously daydreaming now?"

Still stunned, you let out a low whistle. "You look— I mean, damn, Wu Chang. You're stunning. Like, I knew you were handsome, but this..."

His mask didn't hide the pink dusting his cheeks. "Stop talking like that!" he barked, scrambling to pull the balloon from his belt.

You didn't run. You could've. But you stayed. Watching him. Dazed. In awe.

He faltered. "...You're not even trying to escape."

You just beamed. "Because I'm trying to process how good you look."

The confusion. The panic. The glowing blush on his pale face.

"Enough!" he finally groaned, dragging you by the wrist — not to a chair, but toward the gate.

Martha and Aesop stared, tensed for a fight — until they realized you weren't struggling. If anything, you looked like someone being guided down the aisle by a shy groom.

At the gate, Black let go and muttered, "Take her. She's... broken or something."

Aesop caught you gently as Eli arrived, wide-eyed.

"What happened?" he asked.

Eli deadpanned. "She flirted too hard."

As you walked past the threshold, you turned back one last time and waved at the stunned youkai.

"Take care, dear!"

White emerged moments later with a smirk. "My my, little flower. You've certainly left quite the impression."

He took your hand with princely charm, kissed your knuckles, and smiled. "Do visit again. We enjoy your compliments."

Back at the manor, White was grinning ear to ear.

"So," he said, sauntering beside his brother. "Did you enjoy that?"

Black groaned. "No."

"You're blushing."

"It's hot."

"It's dusk."

Black gritted his teeth. "She's insane."

White chuckled. "She did say, and I quote, 'Father, forgive me.'"

"...Shut up."

Black stormed down the hall, but the smile tugging at the corners of his mouth betrayed him.

He wouldn't admit it, but your voice replayed in his mind like a soft song.

"You look amazing, Wu Chang..."

And for once, he didn't mind his new skin.

THE END.
