How your brother reacted to you dating.
"Are you sure, Jeno?"
You asked worriedly standing in his room at the dorms. He nodded and took your hands, giving you his signature cute eye smile.
"Of course, he's my hyung and I want him to know that I'm treating his sister right"
You've managed to secretly go out with Jeno multiple times throughout the past few months and you were getting ready to make it official, but with your parents still in China, he wanted to ask your brother for permission. You'd planned to do it today because you were off from school and going on a date after, but you were so scared he would say no, especially since it was one of his members.
"What if he says no?"
"Just don't think like that"
He shrugs nonchalantly meanwhile you were freaking out. Jeno leaned down and placed a peck on your lips.
"Relax, it'll be fine"
He says, taking your hand and leading you downstairs.

He let go of your hand before knocking on the studio door. Him, Yuta, Johnny, and Mark were in there, but you figured if you asked in front of other people, there was a lesser chance of him saying no.
"Hey Jeno, oh hey Y/n I didn't know you were here"
He looked up and smiled at you but then looked between you and Jeno suspiciously.
"Yeah I just came"
You greeted the rest of the members and then started with your point.
"Soooo, we have something to tell you"
You said to your brother, looking up at Jeno for a nod of reassurance. He slipped his hand into yours and you smiled, blushing slightly.
"Jeno and I have been seeing each other for a while now and we want to make it official"
"So we came to ask for your permission"
Jeno cut in.
"Y'know since mom and dad are back home"
You and Jeno smiled excitedly cutting each other off.
"So what do you say?"
"Do we have your blessing hyung?"
You smile at each other thinking of how well you coordinated your arguments. Everyone in the room was smiling as well, but when you looked at your brother he had a scowl on his face.
"No"
WinWin answered coldly. Your expressions dropped.
"W-why?"
You asked confused. Jeno rubbed his thumb across your knuckles supportively.
"Because I said so, I don't want you dating anyone, especially one of the members"
"Please hyung, I would never hurt her"
"Come on trust them, I know he wouldn't do anything wrong"
Yuta tried to encourage.
"I'm sure he wouldn't, but it can't happen, don't take it personally"
"But WinWin I love him"
"No you don't, you're too young to even know what love is!"
He stood up and literally yelled at you causing you to jump and tears to fill your eyes. You looked to your left to see Jenos eyes shiny with tears he was trying to keep in. Jeno held you tightly, trying his best to dry the rapidly falling tears from your eyes.
"Please"
You sniffled, as Jeno rubbed your arms softly.
"No means no, from now on you won't be seeing each other"
"Please don't do this hyung, I'm begging you"
Jeno spoke desperately, but was once again shot down.
"I'm doing what's best for Y/n, now go"
He gestured to the door and you sniffled wrapping your arms around Jenos neck one more time before your brother was telling you to leave again. You slipped off the couples ring on your left hand and sulked out the room. Closing the door behind you, you could still hear Jenos shaky voice begging your brother to let you be together.

You hadn't seen Jeno in weeks. Everyone around you was convinced you were depressed or something, because you were nowhere near as happy as when you were together. Little did you know, the same was happening at SM.
The whole NCT was hanging out in the practice room, and Jeno was just sitting quietly.
"What's his problem?"
Chenle asked, causing Jeno to look up.
"WinWin hyung forced him to break up with Y/n"
"What? Why didn't you tell anyone"
"Does it look like that's what I want to walk around talking about?!"
Jeno snapped with an attitude. Chenle just nodded knowing how hurt is friend must have been. Jeno talked about you all the time, always showing you off proudly when he could. Everyone besides WinWin could see how heartbroken he was about it, even the fans were starting to notice a change in him.
Most of his hyungs knew because of Yuta and Mark, who were spilling the tea left and right in hopes that someone could convince WinWin to let you see Jeno again. Almost like clockwork, you walked in through the practice room door in your school uniform. You looked serious, and barely smiled when acknowledging the members.
"Hi Y/n, hows it going?"
Mark asked, and you just shrugged and gave a vague reply.
"Where's my brother?"
You and Mark turned to do a quick scan of the room, but you quickly regretted that decision when you make eye contact with your ex. Your eyes widen and you turn back to Mark.
"I'll just wait outside"
You said before leaving the room at the speed of light. If you knew how difficult this would have made things, you would have never told your brother in the first place.
