The fight was over before it began. At least for Nina, it was. She did know that one of the effects of the Alignment was aligning many places into one space, almost like a multi-dimensional magic door. What she did not know was: it also smushed time together. Now, this is not something one would usually notice but Nina wasn't like everyone else.

Now she understood why she had absolutely no memories of the last Alignment. She knew she had been there, she remembered the begining, and she remembered leaving, but nothing that happened, how it ended, how she survived.

This had been the same.

Nina had some vague memories of Thor grabbing the spears from Selvig's hand, and calling for Malakeith, exposing his location, destroying his chance of having the element of surprise, like an idiot.

She remembered Thor saying something qbout having to go back to Asgard, facing his father, and he asked her if she wanted to go with him. She remembered denying that fairly quickly. She never wished to set foot on Asgard again. At least not while Odin was king.

To be honest, Nina's head was a hot mess, now. She was at home, her apartment in Queens.

Her body ached form a fight she did not remember being a part of, and her heart hurt from losing the first man she had loved in a long time.

She decided laying down on the couch and going ti sleep was the best thing to do in the moment. On one hand, she felt crushed by the death of her beloved. On another, she promised herself that she wouldn't get close to anyone like this ever again. She couldn't bare it. She couldn't love, for love comes with a price, and usually, it's her loved one's life.

Little did she know, history was doomed to repeat itself once more, like it already had many times before.
