Nina woke up to the sound of screaming. It took her a minute to realize where she was, but when she did, she knew exactly what was going on. Nina sat up on the bed and looked down at Loki, who was going from side to side, screaming.

"Loki," Nina tried calling him softly. She placed a hand on his bare chest, feeling his heart race. She shook him, trying to wake him up. "Loki!" She called again.

What happened next kind of shocked Nina. Loki screamed once more, and his skin, starting from his face, started to become blue. Nina knew that this was his normal form, his Frost Giant form, she had just never met any other Frost Giants.

Nina called him once more and it finally woke him up. Loki shot straight up form the bed and stood next to it. He was still breathing fast, his nightmare must have been terrifying. He took a look at his hands and suddenly realised that he was not alone in his room.

Loki quickly walked to a corner of the room where the moonlight could not reach him and he hid his face with his hands.

"Do not look at me," he told Nina. She swore she heard his voice breaking. "Please, close your eyes. I'm a monster." Nina frowned and immediatly threw the covers off her.

"You're not a monster," she assured him, standing up and slowly walking towards him, not wanting to scare him away.

"Yes. Yes I am!" He practically screamed. Nina shook her head quickly as she approached him.

"No, you're not," she told him once more. "Loki, she called him. "Loki, look at me," she tried again. Loki slowly turned to face her and lowered his hands from his face. He was surprised to see that Nina had no fear in her voice. "You're not a monster," she repeated.

Nina went to gently grab his face with her hand to wipe the single tear that was streaking down his cheek but Loki flinched away. He didn't want her to touch him.

"I don't want to hurt you," he whispered, taking a step back. Except he couldn't take more steps back because Nina grabbed his arm.

"You're not going to," she told him with a warm smile. For a few seconds, Loki kept staring at Nina's hand on his arm, like he was waiting for her to back away in pain, but she didn't.

Nina lifted her other hand and placed it on his face. She traced her thumb on the various lines and symbols of his face.

"You're different," she said. "It doesn't mean you're a monster," she smiled. "It's actually better when people are different. I don't like it when peopme are plain and normal, it's boring," she revealed. Loki couldn't believe what she was saying. This was probably just some plan of hers, she was definetly lying. Loki was about to look into her mind when she chuckled lightly. "Go ahead, look into my mind, tell me if I am speaking the truth."

Loki hesitated, but decided not to. He smiled faintly and barely shook his head. Nina smiled and brought her other hand to his neck, pulling him down so that they lips met.

Loki brought his hands to Nina's neck and kissed her back. As his hands held her tightly, it was only then that he realised Nina's body wasnt as warm as everyone else's around him. Thor was hot, just like every other asgardian. The Midgardians were also very warm, but Nina wasn't. Her body was cold. Not as much as his, but still very cold, and that's probably why he wasn't freezing her skin over.

As Nina kissed him and ran her fingers through his hair, Loki could feel himself warm up inside, and without him realizing, he was back into his Asgardian form.

Before the kiss could go too far, Nina pulled back.

"You better go back to sleep," she told him. Loki gave her a fake pout, making her laugh. Nina couldn't even believe that this was the man who tried to take over New York. She smiled and took his hand, pulling him right back to bed.
