"I'm sorry, Miss Jones," Heimdall told her once they arrived at the bifrost.

"Don't be, Heimdall," she told him, a sad smile upon her face. "We both knew this was going to happen. It simply had to." Haimdall nodded gravely.

"It did."

Sif soon appeared next to them. She had Nina's backpack with her clothes inside of it. Nina hadn't brought much stuff to Asgard with her, so she wondered what was making it so stuffed.

"I got you some of your dresses," Sif told her, as if she had read her mind.

Nina thanked then all for their kindness, and said goodbye.

"This is not goodbye," Nina told Heimdall. He smiled.

"It never is, for us," he said.

Heimdall opened the portal and Nina was pulled in. She felt the hotness from the vortex of space, and it felt as if she was staring into a volcano. It was an amazing feeling, and it even made her forget the last few minutes of fighting.

To her surprise, Nina found herself inside of her own apartment. It was a mess, and definetly not the way she had left it. Nina immediatly smiled when she saw the five juice boxes on the counter and three on the kitchen table.

"Peter?" She called out loud. A skranny young kid appeared from behind her sofa. He looked at her with amazingment.

Peter was an eleven years old kid that lived with his aunt on the apartment next door. He was a nervous, anxious little kid, but the smarter kid Nina had ever seen.

Apparently, he had spent every day she was away watching TV at her place. Nina made him scrabbled eggs for breakfast and they sat together, watching Drake and Josh.

That is how Nina spent her days. She would spend time with Peter, a kid she considered his own son, and then run to SHIELD if she got called in or if they needed her in an emergency.

For months, nothing too important happened. A few terrorists over here, the Russian and Italian mafia over there. Nothing too complicated, no Hydra, no aliens.

But of course, nothing lasts forever.

Ok so I'm bad at endings, but hold on bc it's not finished. I'm sorry this is awful.
