"There's no throne, there is no version of this, where you come out on top. Maybe your army comes and maybe it's too much for us, but it's all on you. Because if we can't protect the Earth, you can be damned well sure we'll avenge it." Loki smiled mischiefly, approaching them after Tony walked around the bar and stood next to another stool.

"How will your friends have time for me,when they're so busy fighting you?" He raised his scepter and touched the tip of it on Tony's chest. Nina was alarmed, until the interaction created a 'ping' sound. It didn't work, Nina realised. He didn't have a proper heart. Loki frowned. He lifted the spear and tried again, making the same noise. Loki titled his head in confusion.

"It should work."

"Wow, you managed to have the only two people on which that trick won't work in the room," Nina said, taking a sip from her drink. "I think that's a record."

" Well, performance issues, you know?" Tony teased. Loki lost his cool, reaching for Tony's throat with his hand and throwing him across the room. Nina immediately jumped form her stool, with the intention of helping Tony out, but Loki flics his hand and throws her across the bar, making her land behind it on the ground.

"Jarvis, anytime now," Tony grunted at his AI. Loki grabbed him by the throat again.

"You will fall before me," Loki told him, before throwing Tony out of the window.

"Was that necessary?" Nina asked him, unimpressed. She already knew what Stark had done. A few seconds later, Tony's suit went flying piece by piece after him. Tony immediatly came back, blowing Loki back into his ass with a blaster from his suit.

"And there's one other person you pissed off! His name was Phil," Tony told him. Nina stood back up, just in time to see the portal being open. He had done it. Dr. Selvig has been capable to open the portal. In the distance, they could see an army of alien/robots through the portal. "Oh, right. Army." Tony flew out, towards the portal.

"You don't have to do this," Nina said, walking towards Loki. The wizard could head the despair in her voice, and the emotion mirrored on her face. "Please, you can still call it off." Loki stood up, looking down at the girl before him.

"Sometimes I tell myself that," Loki admitted, closing his eyes. He wondered, why was he doing this. What was his goal? Nina slowly approached, his arms with her hands, he fly grabbing both of them. Loki suddenly opened his eyes, no hesitation in his eyes. "But it's too late now. Your friends will kill me wether I call this off or not. Please don't do that," he added, referring to Nina's hands on his arms. He hadn't tried to shake them off yet, he realised. Why hadn't he? Why was he so hesitant around this girl?

"Why not?"

"Because it makes me question my entire life," he ended up admitting. What the hell was he talking about. Loki watched Nina's green eyes turn from despair to utter confusion. He had never seen greener eyes. When the sun shone on them, they would shine like a million stars on a clear night.

Loki suddenly realised what was going on. When he had discovered about his true parentage, Loki spent hours and hours researching and reading books on Frost giants. The one thing that stuck out to him was.... Well... love. Human, Asgardians the same, they can fall in love multiple times, leaving their beloved and falling for someone else. With Frost giants, it was permanent. He could of fall for one person, and once he did, he would never stop loving them.

He knew she was the one from the moment he saw her on those SHIELD files, he just couldn't admit it to himself. At first he would hate himself for loving a petty human, but now that he knew that she was none of that, it made more sense, even if he still hated himself for falling for the enemy.
