Nina watches as Thor's hand reappeared, showing everyone that it was only one of Loki's tricks. Malakeith was walking dominantly towards Nina, until Thor summoned his hammer and threw a lightning bolt at him, in Hope's of destroying te Aether. Obviously, it didn't work. It did slow Malakeith down, giving Nina the chance to run away from him.

Malakeith then turned around towards his ship, deciding to leave. Two of the Dark Elves started attacking Thor, and he fought the two with ease, as Nina ripped through another three. A big monster threw one of his vortex weapons into the air, and it opened a portal. Loki was quick to push Jane away from it, almost getting sucked in himself before Thor pulled him out. Nina tried to attack the big guy, and so did Thor, but he beat them down.

Another Dark Elf went to attack Jane, but Nina quickly stood up and protected her from it, impaling the thing with her sword. It got stuck, and she found herself unarmed. Nina suddenly felt a sharp pain in her abdomen. She didn't understand where it came from, until she heard s pained scream coming form Thor.

"No!" Thor yelled out. Nina turned around and saw the man still laying on the ground where he landed form the big mosnter's blow. She then looked over at where Thor was looking, and her heart fell to her stomach.

Loki had impaled the big guy's chest with one of the elves' long swords. But the monster had had the time to grab Loki by the arms and pull him to his body, impaling Loki with him.

"No! No! No!" Nina yelled, running to Loki. She watched as the monster then slided Loki off the sword, throwing him on the ground. Nina was still so far away as the monster prepared to attack Loki one more time.

"See you in hell, monster," she heard him struggle out. It was only then that she realized that Loki had placed one of the monster's Vortex Weapons on him, and before she could get to them, the thing exploded, making the monster implode in a red light, his scull and bones crushing on themselves, until he just wasn't there anymore.

Nina finally reached Loki, falling to her knees next to him and pulling his upper body onto her lap. She felt the acute panic arising in her.

"No, no," she mumbled. "Loki, stay with me," she pleaded, begged. Through the pain of having been stabbed through the stomach, Loki smiled. Nina grabbed his head in her hands and placed a kiss on his forehead.

"I'm sorry," he told her. Nina shook her head, tears threatening to fall form the corners of her eyes. She felt like crying, but she decided she was going to be strong for him. He didn't need to be afraid, not now, not anymore. "But I can't stay, love." When he said that, Nina couldn't help it anymore. She let out one single son as the tears cascaded through her face.

"Please, you have to," she tried. Nina knew better. She knew that the wound was in a dangerous place, and that with the infection from falling on the ground and simply from the dirty atmosphere, he had no chances of survival. Still, she had a childlike hope, and she simply couldn't accept that he was actually dying.

He couldn't be, after all. I mean, how could this be happening to her? She had been all alone for so long. Only her. Nina in the universe, lost. After a long time, she managed to find Bucky, whom she loved most dearly, but then she lost him. After all of that, twenty more years of loneliness, she managed to find Loki. He wasn't perfect, I'll give you that, and he did try to take over New York, but still. Nina loved him. And now, there she was, losing him. She couldn't help but to blame herself for it. I mean, it was bound to happen. He was bound to die, wasn't him? That's what they do. That's what people do around her. They die.
