Steve and Nina headed back to his house late at night. They stayed out all day, roaming around on his motorcycle. When Steve had bad days, he would just drive his bike around the city, and sometimes Nina would tag along.

The two walked up the stairs to find Sharon talking on the phone with her batch of dirty clothes under her arm in front of her door. Nina wished with all her strength that she hadn't been there. She knew very well who Sharon Carter was, and she knew what kind of relationship was happening between the two.

"Hi," she said to them as they walked by her and to his door. "I gotta go, though. Okay, bye," she said into the phone before turning to face Steve. Nina hid behind him, pretending not to exist. "My aunt," she explained herself. "She's kind of an insomniac," she told him, throwing her phone in her basket. Steve chuckled awkwardly. "Yeah," Sharon said, also visibly awkward.

"Hey, if you want..." Steve started. "If you want, you're welcome to use my machine. Might be cheaper than the one in the basement," he told her with a smile.

"Oh Yeah?" Sharon asked. "What's it cost?"

"A cup of coffee?" Steve told her. Smooth, Rogers, Nina thought. It was pretty obvious that he hadn't had lots of romantic experiences with girls, even though he could if he wanted to. I mean, that physique. Sharon chuckled.

"Thank you, but... I already have a load in downstairs,"  she said, obviously disappointed she couldn't accept. "And you really don't want my scrubs in your machine. I just finished a rotation in the infectious disease ward, so..." Nina cringed. Sharon also had obviously no way with boys. The two were clearly made for each other.

"Well, I'll keep my distance," Steve told her, putting his hands up as a joke.

"Hopefully not too far," Sharon told him. Smoooooth, Nina told herself internally. Good. This was good. "Oh, and I think you left your stereo on."

"Oh?" Nina immediately picked up on his voice and she knew something wasn't right. "Right, thank you," Steve still said with a smile.

" Yeah," Sharon said and headed downstairs.

"You didn't leave the stereo on, did you?" Nina asked him once Sharon was out of view.

"Definetly not," he said, opening the door and pushing Nina behind him as they entered. He picked up his shield next to the door and hid behind it, shielding him and Nina. There was old music playing, from the 40's. Steve and Nina turned a corner only to find Fury laying on Steve's armchair.

"You boys and the armchair," Nina mumbled under her breath. Steve sighed.

"I don't remember giving you a key," he told Fury, leaning against the wall.

"You really think I'd need one?" Nick asked him, he sat up with a grunt. Nina immediately knew something was wrong, but his next sentence confirmed her assumptions. "My wife kicked me out," he said, looking directly into Nina's eyes. She tilted her head, knowing he was speaking in some kind of code.

"Didn't know you were married," Steve said. He obviously hadn't picked it up yet. She placed a hand on his torso, silently telling him to shut up.

"What did you this time?" Nina asked him.

"There's a lot of things she didn't know about me, and she just found out," Nick tried to explain, but Steve still hadn't seen it.

"I know Nick. That's the problem," he said, walking up to turn on the light. As he did so, the two agents finally saw what Nick looked like. His face was bloody, and his nose and left arm were obviously broken. Nick used his right arm to turn off the light from where he was seated.

Steve was about to ask something, when Fury put his hand up, shuting him up again. He wrote a small message on his phone and showed it to the two. EARS EVERYWHERE.

"I'm sorry to have to do this, but I had no place else to crash," he said. A car crash, Nina picked up immediately. He wrote something else on his phone. SHIELD COMPROMISED.

"Who else knows about your wife?" Steve asked. Nick stood up, showing him his phone by his side. THE THREE OF US.

"Just... my friends." Nick walked more towards them. Nina started to put the pieces together. Someone caused a car crash. They obviously wanted Nick Fury, the director of SHIELD down. After going on through all that, they wouldn't just give up, and Fury was standing dangerously close to the window.

"Is that what we are?"

"That's up to you."

Right at that moment, there were gunshots all over the apartment. Nick was shot four times and he fell to the ground groaning. Steve grabbed his shield and Fury's arm, dragging him out of the window's view. For fucks sake, Nina thought. She knew something was wrong, she should have done something.

Nina looked out the window along with Steve as they dragged Nick. All she could spot was a man, and something shinny on his clothes. Steve pulled Fury out of the room and into the kitchen, hiding him. Fury pulled on Nina's hand, wanting to show her something. He placed a flash drive on her hand.

"Don't trust... anyone," Nick managed to get out before he passed out.
