Suddenly, there were bangs at the front door. When they didn't open, it was broken down. Nina placed the flash drive in her jacket pocket as Sharon stormed into the appartment.

"Captain Rogers?" Sharon said. "Captain, I'm agent 13 of SHIELD Special Service," she announced herself. Steve looked her up and down.  He believed this woman to be an innocent nurse, and now he was finding out she was a SHIELD agent.

"Kate?" He asked hesitantly.

"I was assigned to protect you," she told him.

"On whose order?" Steve asked her urgently. Sharon froze upon seeing Fury's unconscious and bloody on the floor.

"His," she said, dropping to the ground and checking for a pulse, then taking her walky-talky out and calling for help. Steve still didn't look so sure but didn't exactly know what to do.

"She's on our side," Nina assured him. Steve looked at her with an expression of betrayal, but Nina just ignored it. She walked to the side of the window and subtly looked out, only a portion of her head visible.

"Foxtrot is down, he's unresponsive," Sharon said into the comms. "I need EMTs." Nina spotted a shinny thing on a roof. Peobably some piece of armor, or a gun.

"Do we have a 20 on the shooter?" The voice said. Nina took it upon herself to answer. She had spotted the shooter.

"Tell him we're in pursuit."

Captain America used his shield to dive from the window, breaking it even more. Nina followed close behind. They landed inside another building, crashing through the window and a table. Nina quickly stood up, looking through the windows as she ran towards the shooter. Steve was still faster than her, so he passed her a few moments later. And what a good thing it was, since he ended up breaking doors and walls to follow the subject, a thing that would be rather hard to do without his shield.

They ran up to a corridor that ended in a window, where you could clearely see a roof. Steve jumped through the window, having clear view of the man.   Nina jumped close behind him.

She froze when she realised who it was. The man wasn't wearing a shiny coat, it was clear now. It was a metal arm. Bucky's metal arm. She thought she would never see him again.

Steve stood up and without thinking, threw his shield at the man. To his surprise, the man simply turned around and catched it with ease. He was about to throw it back to Steve when he spotted Nina behind him. Bucky, who was clearly frowning, had his face soften a bit when he saw her face. He recognised her. However, a few seconds later, he shrugged it off and threw the shield to Steve with all his strength. Steve was sent a few feet back after catching the shield himself. He looked up at the man and he was gone. He'd simply desapeared.

Steve looked back at Nina as she tried her best to hide the shokck on her face. Then, he ran up to the edge of the roof, standing up and trying to spot where the man could have gone. Of course, he didn't find him.

Half an hour later, they were all in a hospital, watching the surgery through a glass window. Agent Hill was also present, and they were waiting for Natasha.

Steve had noticed how the man had frozen upon encountering with her, and he really wanted to know why. Did she know this man? Did she know who he was? Did he know her? All he wanted was to ask all of those questions, but he decided she'd gone through enough for the evening.

A few minutes later, Natasha burst in through the door. She walked up to the glass window and froze upon seeing Fury in the surgery room.

"Is he gonna make it?" She asked urgently.

"I don't know," Nina let our almost as a whisper.

"Tell me about the shooter," she required.

"He was fast, strong," Steve gave up as a description, before looking down. "Had a metal arm." Natasha froze. She looked over at Nina, who gave her a knowing look before looking back at the operation room.

"Ballistics?" Nat asked, before taking a moment to take in the information. Agent Hill joined in the conversation.

"Three slugs, no riffling. Completely untraceable," she told them. Nat shivered. She knew exactly who this was.

"Soviet-made," Nat whispered in realisation.

" Yeah," Maria said, obviously surprised that Natasha knew that.

Inside the room, a machine started to beep faster and faster.

"BP's dropping."

"Defibrilator!"

"Charge it at 100."

"Don't do this to me, Nick," Nat mumbled under her breath.

"Stand back, three two one. Clear." Nick was shocked with the defibrilator, making his body jerk upwards and making Nina flinch a few inches away from the glass.

"Pulse?"

"No pulse."

"Okay, 200, please."

"Stand back!"

"Three two one, Clear!" It was now Nat's turn to take a step back.

"Get me epinephrine."

"Pulse?"

"Negative.'

"Don't do this to me, Nick. Don't do this to me," Natasha whispered over and over again. Maria Hill had tears running down her face as Nina and Nat just watched, trying to keep dry eyes. Steve just walked out of the room.

"What's the time?"

"1:03, Doctor."

"Time of death, 1:03 a.m."

Maria Hill also walked out of the room, leaving Nina and Natasha alone inside watching as the doctors took the tubes and needles off Nick' s body.

"Was it him?" Natasha asked, her voice breaking a little, but nothing too noticeable. Her voice pulled Nina away from her thoughts.

"Hm?" Said Nina.

"Was it him? The Winter Soldier?" Natasha asked her more seriously. Nat knew about her and The Winter Soldier. Well, kind of. Upon their first encounter with him, The Soldier had also frozen when he's seen Nina. She ended up telling NAT about what happened to her with Hydra and how she'd met him.

"Yes. It was definetly him."
