Have you ever experienced that scenario when you feel like a total ninja, or a CIA operative? Well I basically had that feeling. I was slightly cramped in my current position, but in order to stay concealed I had to stand on top the toilet seat and lean against the dirty bathroom stall. I was straining my ears absorbing every word uttered like a sponge soaking up water. In this case I was soaking up information. The price you pay for eavesdropping.
Now, you may be a little confused at this point so let me back track for you.

Thirty minutes ago..
Me and Sydney were walking down the crowded hallway at school; lingering behind before the start of last period. Every now and then I'd get bumped into the side by someone who was in a rush, and not once did I receive a second glance or quick half hearted apology. I kind of dismissed the thought since I was being a hypocrite. There are times when I've accidentally bumped into people and I didn't stop and say sorry. Whether I didn't see who it was or I just didn't feel like saying anything.
Without realizing it, Sydney had asked me a question and I didn't catch what she said. "Sorry, Syd what did you ask me?"
With an eye roll she repeated her question. "I said what class do you have next?"
I took a moment to mentally visualize my schedule before I answered, "Study hall."
Sydney pouted and grumbled out, "Lucky."
I scoffed. "Not really. Nadine and her friends or rather friend and ex-best friend have it with me. And they sit close enough to my desk that I can hear everything they gossip about."
Sydney sent me a sympathetic look. "Well, it's not as bad as having physics. I seriously need some tutoring."
I thought about offering Sydney help, but then I noted how science isn't my strongest subject. With constantly writing and being exposed to books, I'd say English is, which in this case isn't helpful.
"How about asking Jess for help? He's probably a genius at physics." I couldn't help but think he's a genius at everything. It makes sense though him being nerdy and in love with anything school related.
"Yeah, I probably will. Speaking of Jess, have you seen him?"
As if my mind just took fact I hadn't seen Jess today, a genuine clueless expression crossed my face. "Actually I haven't. He's most likely in class already, so we'll have to catch him later."
Ending our conversation, the bell rang and it was time to go. I hurried to my class and entered the room just in time before the final bell sounded. The teacher sent me a warning look as if to say be earlier next time. I bet if I had a broken leg I'd still have no accuse for being tardy. "Teachers," I muttered underneath my breath with a sarcastic tone.
I sat down in my desk like a good student and took out homework I was assigned for the day. Some people were listening to music on their ipods, others were taking a catnap. The teacher was quietly reading a book and if the chatter rose above our 'inside voices' she would shush us then return to reading.
Class was meandering on slowly and I could hardly concentrate on my homework with the people next to me talking entirely too loud. I was trying to finish my math homework which was a gigantic pain in the butt. But it can be more of a pain in the butt when your brain starts relaying math problems combined with who won awards at the VMA's.
I hardly think the square root of fifty four equals Lil Wayne.
Just when I was about to give up on my homework, a dainty voice pierced the air and asked with false politeness, "Ms. Guggenheimer? May Hallie and I go to the library to do research for our project? "
