Jess and I stared at the flip chart quizzically. Written thickly in black sharpie was the word SWAG. I kept on thinking what the heck have I gotten myself into?? Apparently over the weekend Sydney had another stroke of genius. We weren't told what this meeting was about, and I have no clue why we are learning about swag. All I know is we had to come over to her house today. It made sense why Sydney texted swagger to Jess yesterday. It was obviously related to this presentation.
"Swag. It means many things. Example: Something We Asians Got. A very over used term for these wanna be-"
"Sydney, get to the point." I sighed and rubbed my temples. I don't want her rambling during this whole thing. Currently, I'm sitting on her purple covered bed (almost everything in here is purple for some reason) with Spanky sleeping peacefully on my lap. I've finally met the notorious chihuahua. When I first saw Spanky it dawn on me why he was named so weirdly. On his fawn colored behind was a white spot in the shape of a hand print. Makes sense doesn't it?
"I would if you wouldn't interrupt."
I grumbled and grudgingly listened attentively.
"Anyways, Swag has numerous acronyms and plenty of uses. But I've came up with something way better! I've thought my own definition. Behold!"
And this was the part where Sydney dramatically flipped to the next page to reveal her creation.
Society Women Appeal Gerrard Butler was written boldly across the humongous white paper. One word to describe my reaction: Wow.
"Brilliant I know."
I felt like face palming myself.
"D-does this have anything to do with m-me?" Jess asked nervously.
"Duh! What's the purpose of giving you a makeover when you can't act the part?" Syd challenged. The black streak in her hair flapped around visibly. That is becuase Sydney was waving around her arms as if to get her point across.
"I thought you said that you wouldn't change who I am."
"I did, but it won't hurt to be more confident."
"B-but-"
"Please, Jess?"
I darted my eyes from Jess's astounded look to Sydney's pleading/puppy dog face.
"I don't-" Jess paused before blowing out a breath. "Fine, I just want to get this over with."
"Thank-you, thank-you! You're the best!" She squealed in delight.
Now what happened next was kind of shocking. Sydney ran up to the overwhelmed boy, grabbed him, hugged him tightly, and planted a kiss on his cheek.
"Uh-uh..." Jess looked a bit flustered. His face was turning bright red. Slightly amusing quite frankly.
"So now that you've agreed to participate, let me explain everything. Each day we'll tackle a letter. They all represent something you have to master in about a day. But don't worry me and Tam will help you."
I nodded in agreement.
"S is for society which means we need to work on your people skills. That might be the hardest one. No offence. W is for women. You'll have to learn how to talk to girls."
"I don't think I can-"
"Shush child."
I kind of snorted at that. Just saying.
