chapter 12- Newbies?

KATIES POV

last week was so intense, I'm glad everything finally got back to normal. Daryl kept eavesdropping on mine and Carl's conversations, watching us like a hawk and made me sleep in the cell beside his! Thankfully Carol persuaded him to let Me go back to mine and Beth's cell. I was currently outside with Carl on watch,

"How do you think this is gonna work out?" I asked munching on some chips we found on a run.

"what do you mean?" Carl questioned curiously,

"I mean the prison, do you think it'll be safe or do you think it'll fall?" I asked looking from the gate to him.

"Honestly I don't know, but I do know one thing." he stated leaning closer to me,

"And what's that?" I smirked.

"I'm not going to let anything happen to you, ever" He said as he put his left hand under my chin and leaned in for a kiss.

I know I say this every time I kiss Carl but it's true, I feel fireworks. Carl and I kissed for what it seems like forever until it ended by some girls yelling,

"Someone help! is anyone there? please help!" a blonde girl yelled as she clutched the fence.

Carl and I raced down to the gate to open it, We struggled a little with the rope but finally got the gate open. As soon as we did we had to start questioning,

"What's your names?" Carl asked seriously.

"I'm Madison, and her name is Kimberly. I like to go by Maddi and she like to go by Kim." the blonde said pointing between the two of them.

"how old are you?" I questioned narrowing my eyes at them noticing Kim making googly eyes at Carl.

"We are both fourteen." Maddi stated,

Shit.

"How many walker have you killed?" Carl asked,

"I don't really know, I guess ten maybe twelve." Maddi shrugged.

"How many people you kill?" I asked looking at Kim to answer but Maddi answered instead,

"No one, we don't like killing living people." she sassed.

"Why?" Carl asked,

"because it's not right, if we need to kill something then we'll kill animals to eat or kill a walker from eating us." she explained.

" okay, I'm Katie and this is Carl. My boyfriend." I said making sure I clear the boyfriend part up, I then received an evil glare from Kim.

"Come on, my dad has to clear some things up with you two." Carl said as we led them to the prison doors.

twenty minutes later

Rick is letting Maddi and bitch face, oh I mean Kim stay. "I already don't like Kim, I don't trust her either." I stated to Carl,

"Hahaha and why is that?" He laughed a little.

"she was checking MY man out at the gate." I angrily stated,

"Katie I don't care how much she checks me out, I love you. And that's not going to change." Carl assured me kissing my nose.

"Okay, but I still don't like her. And if she tries anything!" I warned,

"she's not going to try anything because you'll be right beside me at all times." he assured me once again, but he kissed my cheek this time.
