Case Thirteen: Old Friend, New Love (Part 2)

"Let me recap this for us," Jongdae says, "you and this triad leader named Wu Yifan were friends when you two were little. His organization was once bad and you all pursue the members until you found out that the leader had changed into none other than Wu Yifan and he has changed the course of this triad. And you all decided to protect his dead fiancee because....?"

"You two hope that he will feel grateful about it and open the access. Am I right?" Sehun asks and both Chinese detectives nod. "That is what we hoped for. We need to put justice to those other members, but Yifan is a very clever and slick man. He can calculate every single moves we have made; well, that explains how he became a leader in such young age. He doesn't want to compromise and even sacrifice those members because he needs their support in order to re-establish things. At least, that is what our report said."

Yixing's explanation is very clear for them. Whatever their real case is, they now must feel really defeated. Their only seemingly great way to get a bargain with Wu Yifan is now vanished. And for the South Korea's detectives, their citizen is got killed and they have to find her killer.

"Do you have anything for us? Anything for us to understand this case?" Sooyoung asks.

"We have the report on whom the one that might be hoping she is dead. The previous Flying Dragon's leader's son. Chen Jianji. He and his father's closest friends were 'dumped' by the triad after Yifan took the leader throne. He is reported to have planned several ill plans for both Yifan and Min Sora. The recent one is an attempted arson at their Beijing's HQ. Min Sora was there with some of young members of Flying Dragon, and thankfully she was saved by them. Nothing was serious and the investigation has been closed with the result that the arson happened by accident. But we know Yifan doesn't think that way. Perhaps that's why he let Min Sora to go back to Seoul, perhaps he thought this place would be the safest place for her. Nobody seemed to know her here so she should be safe. But that's not true."

"And this Huang Zitao..." Sehun points to one picture that shows the face of the man they chased earlier, "you said he was his right-hand man. Is he here for keeping our victim safe?"

"We haven't got any solid information on that," Yixing answers, "but perhaps that is right. After all, if Wu Yifan has to trust someone, Huang Zitao is the one. He is more like his fist-man; he is his best bodyguard and he is very excellent at his job. You have seen how he ran away from us so easily earlier."

"So you are positive this man would never harm our victim?"

"If the information we have gathered really tell the truth, than Huang Zitao is not the killer. He will never betray or hurt Yifan," Han answers then. Sooyoung then takes a copy of Huang Zitao's photo. "I need to show this to our eye-witnesses. Perhaps they have seen him or something." The man and woman before are at the precinct because they haven't signed the legal document about being a witness. Sooyoung then leaves to the break room where they are inside, when Seungwan comes into the scene.

"I have heard about the gangster's relation. What do you all have?"

"This." Jongdae points to the board and Seungwan reads them carefully. "So our main interest is this Chen Jianji?"

"If he's in Seoul. He's Hong Kong citizen."

Seungwan rolls her eyes to Jongdae, as if saying 'like I don't know that he is not Korean?' kind of look. "We need to check the immigration, then." Sehun concludes, "let's check these people. They have to pass our immigration gate in order to be in Seoul. From what we found, Min Sora had been here for at least a month. Let's check every Chinese citizens and Hong Kong's that have passed our gate. It will be tiring, but that's a start." Jongdae sighs. He knows this is his task. He then waves to the air before going to his desk to call the immigration.
