Katniss pov
Ashen streets.
But not all is gone.
There are burnt houses.
But the people remain...
We take our first walk back into district 12 in a very long time.
Around us, some of the houses are burnt to a char. But not all of them. This is isn't as bad as I had anticipated.
Gales warm dry hand was still wrapped around mine.
Our families walked behind us through the dirty streets of our old town
We entered the victors village.
We stepped inside my house for the first time in about a year.
Gale still has my hand.
We walk I and just stand there, looking at everything. At nothing really, because everything is the same, and nothing has changed.
We are home. We are finally home. I have Gale. He loves me. I have prim. I love her. I am as happy as could be in this moment.
