Katniss's mother pov
I woke up again at around 8 o'clock. Katniss was awake but still tucked under gales arms while he was fast asleep. She had a blank expression on her face.
A little while later, Gale woke up too. I was still sitting down knitting a cloth. He sat up. "Hey" he said to Katniss. "Hey" she almost inaudiblly whispered back. He pulled her into a hug.
A little while later, they broke apart from their embrace. Katniss's long brown hair was untangled, but was braidless. Gale delicately braided her hair down the side of her head. How did he know how to braid her hair? I asked myself wit a grin. It looked pretty good to!
After Gale finished braiding Katniss's hair, she offered a meek small smile. He smiled back, brushed his hand over her check, and kissed her forehead. "It'll get better. I'll make sure your safe" he said to her. They stood up to walk twords the woods. Gale tightly locked his fingers around Katniss's.
