91. Work Done

They arrived downstairs and Virat went to the team room. He sat beside Mahi holding his arm and leaning his head on it.

"Your work done" Ab said as he met Rohit at the entrance of the team room.

"How cheap? Convincing ur own brother for net practice and saying this, 'your work done' didn't expect this AB", Rohit said teasing him.

"Hmm funny! Work on ur communication skills so that you could do this on ur own" Ab said back.

They both chuckled at that. 

"I got to go now, will meet you later"

"Hey, any positive response from him?" Rohit stopped him.

"Hoping it, he would think on what I said", Ab said and left from there.

"U okay Cheeku?" asked Mahi.

"I am confused", he said, and Mahi laughed at his kid-like voice. He was glad to hear it, since it had been a while since he'd heard that voice and it had been days since Virat had come to him in his confusion.

"Kya baat hai" Mahi asked softly.

"Bhai, I.. I am not sure if I could hold the bat and play like before", Virat said quietly.

"For that u have to try once na", said Mahi caressing his head.

Rohit instructed everyone to go to the nets for practice. Virat was still in the team room thinking something.

"Vi someone is here to meet you", said Rohit to which Virat got up from his position to see who it was.

"Dada", small little voice called him  and ran to him. Virat picked her up and hugged her close.

"Not only him but also you Ro" Anushka said and Ritika with Sammy arrived with her.

"Dada" Sammy hugged him.

"Why so sad sad?" Vamika asked Virat pulling his cheeks. Sammy too went to Virat and sat beside him.

Meanwhile outside the team room,

"For how long you will avoid me Ro?" Ritika asked holding his wrist. She took him into his room.

Rohit entered but didn't look at her.

"What's wrong? You talk to Sammy and you don't talk to me Ro! What have I done? Please tell me, it's been days we talked properly" Ritika said holding his arms.

Rohit just hugged her tightly to which she responded back. Ritika could feel her shoulder getting wet. She rubbed his back to calm him down.

"Ro please tell me kya hua? You are scaring me! Virat is okay right? U are okay Na!" Asked Ritika consoling him.

"I am so sorry Ritsy! I ignored you! I just didn't know how to face you after all these days I didn't talk to you properly. I got so busy in everything. I thought you might have felt bad so I was ignoring you" Rohit said breaking the hug.

Ritika wiped his tears and smacked lightly on his head.

"Rohit! U are an idiot.. I thought something serious happened. I am not angry on you. I knew how messed up everything was. I just wanted you to talk to me" Ritika said softly.

"Pakka u are not upset" Rohit asked.

Ritika just hugged him and said, "no! But you owe me treat for this behaviour"

"Ofcourse! I hope just our two little princess convinces Virat somehow for playing" said Rohit.

In the team room,

"Dada, what happened?" Vamika asked again.

"Chachu when u and Dada gonna play together again? I miss seeing you both on field" asked Sammy going closer to him and sat beside Vamika.

"You really do?" Ask Virat.

"Yes dada plays now but he is not smiling and happy! I don't know why" Sammy said thinking.

"Dada and Ro cha play" said Vamika clapping to which Sammy and Virat chuckled at her reaction.

Vamika and Sammy sat in corner to eat as Anushka brought their food. Sammy assured she will make Vamika eat.

"Bubs u okay?" Anushka asked sitting beside him and taking his hand in hers.

"Will I be able to play like before?"

"Ofcourse my love, I have full faith in you. Not immediately but step by step. You should take first step now. You remember that you used to practice in nets no matter u score a century in previous match or zero. Your hard work never stopped. So now take that step Virat. For yourself. We believe in you, I believe in you" said Anushka rubbing his knuckles with her thumb in soothing manner.

Virat kissed her forehead at that.

"Hey" Ritika knocked the door and entered with Rohit.

"All okay?" Virat asked seeing Rohit's red eyes.

"I made ur bestie cry" Ritika whispered.

"Good job" Virat said putting his arm around Ritika, "pata hai Ab is his new best friend" said Virat whispering to her to which she made a shocked face.

"You have no idea how close they are.. you know in hospital" Ritika began but stopped.

"Ohh stop it you two, stop teasing my brother" Anushka said siding with Ro.

"See Na Nush" whined Rohit.

"But Ro is Ab really new best friend" Anushka also asked teasing him.

They all laughed at Rohit's whining face.

"Chalo let's go to practice Rohit" Virat said surprising him.

"Let's go" Rohit said excitedly and Virat went ahead.

"Work done Dada" Sammy hi fied to Ro and Vamika too wanting to be part of the plan.

"Good job my cuties" Rohit said hugging them both.

"Rohit come fast we will get late" Virat said and Rohit went running.
