16. Some Revelations

"Mahi bhai please I am sorry, I made a mistake. Please talk to me"

"Cheeku you have to keep your anger in control, you can't do this to the crowd. I know they said some nasty things but answer them with ur bat"

"Sorry Mahi bhai please mujhse baat Karo"

"Come here" Mahi said and Virat hugged him tightly.

Mahi saw Virat was holding him more tightly as if he was trying to assure himself.

"Mahi bhai please" he heard Virat mumbling in his sleep.

Rohit heard that and looked at Virat, he had frown on his forehead it was the same when he tries to remember something or is having a memory flashback in his dreams.

"He is having a flashback and that is related to you" Rohit said to Mahi who was little confused by the gesture of Virat.

By now Rohit knew his mood, when he gets memory flashback, what's his reaction is but he didn't know how vulnerable Virat was feeling in all this.

Mahi saw Virat being restless, "Ro, don't you think that tablets are too strong because he has been tired and exhausted with everything. Also the flashbacks are taking toll on him", he said in concern.

"Will talk to his doctor once we reach" Rohit said noticing the same.

"Cheeku wake up, we reached" Mahi said softly, "Cheeku" he called again.

Virat opened his eyes and saw he was holding Mahi's hand, "oh I am sorry I don't know how—"

"It's okay", Mahi said to stop his rant though he felt so bad that Virat was apologising for that.

They got down the car. Mahi arranged something to eat and then ordered for others too as they arrive in sometime.

Virat got freshen up, he looked himself in mirror. His stomach also had a scar. What had he landed himself into?

"You okay?" Rohit knocked his bathroom door as it was half hour he was inside.

"Yeah, coming?" Virat said putting his tshirt on.

Rohit looked at him, he was looking more tired, "have ur dinner and then you have take tablets! I am downstairs, Jassi will join in sometime", he said and got up to leave the room.

"Please stay with me and have dinner with me!" Virat wanted to say that but he didn't want to sound so desperate.

Rohit left the room. Virat locked his door not wanting to meet anyone for sometime.

"You better speak immediately— I am not having that much patience" Rohit said coming down seeing Smith there.

Mahi stood beside Rohit keeping his hand on his shoulder.

"I am sorry— I don't remember exact thing"

"Bullshit you don't remember— I don't care I want to know everything" Rohit yelled.

"Rohit calm down" Ab said this time seeing him furious as if Rohit will punch him any moment.

"Calm down— you are telling me this?! This guy hit our friend AB! Virat has always supported him and what did he do? Left him alone— how can I calm down?" Rohit yelled furiously.

"Rohit do you want answers or not? Yelling is not gonna work now. I am as furious as you, but we have to get to know the whole thing our idiot friend had gotten into including this accident" Ab said softly calming him down.

If this would not be a serious situation Mahi along with Faf would have chuckled so hard.

"I was not drunk but something was wrong that day. I don't remember clearly but a guy was infront of my car suddenly which got me to loose control, he was already bruised badly— I didn't recognise him as his face was bruised and covered with blood. I admitted him in hospital when I heard him murmur, "Stevia" which Virat used to call me in a funny way. But I ignored it thinking that I am imagining and left from there. Today when u told us the details, it all matches the narrative of the accident— so I panicked! I swear I didn't know it's him" Steve confessed with tears flowing from his eyes.

"In that hospital's footage which Ab sent us— it's you?" Mahi asked remembering that familiar face.

"How can you not see his tattoo? We recognised him in that footage seeing that tattoo" Rohit asked him.

"No i didn't pay attention I guess— I had hit a guy that too in another country. There was so much chaos— only thing in my mind was to admit him in the hospital. I am so sorry" Steve said feeling guilty.

"I can't— I can't with this! How can you not?" Rohit yelled in frustration.

"If you would have paid slight attention we could have found him much earlier and hopefully it would be much better— possibly he would have remembered us till now" Rohit continued.

He sat on the sofa burying his head in his hands.

"I am sorry" Smith said looking at MS who was standing shocked and numb.

"Sorry is not gonna help— we have lost so much and he has lost everything" Mahi said with so much pain and anger that everyone except Rohit were shocked to hear that tone.

As he was Cheeku's Mahi bhai at that time.

"Due to your carelessness, he got switched medicines by someone who was targeting him which caused his health and memory to deteriorate more" Mahi said accusing him.

Steve just looked down in tears.

He was in so much guilt and regret, that it was gonna be there with him his whole life.

Smith just moved outside not able to breathe there under their gazes. Maxwell followed him.

"How can we find the person who is still targeting Virat?" Kane asked gaining everyone's attention.

Faf, "we really need a plan to trap that person for whatever reason he is after Virat" he said joining Kane in the conversation.

"Rohit what's the reason everything happened in first place? You have to share that only can help us finding the person and trap him" Ab asked softly.

Rohit knew he has to share. He looked at Mahi who nodded himself.
