33. Letting it sink in

"Ab do u know where is Rohit? Mahi bhai is asking for you and him. Do you know where he is?" Ritika asked as she saw Ab talking on the phone.

"He was sitting with me here half hour ago. I thought he was inside Virat's room" Ab said not seeing him around.

He tried calling him but he was not picking up. He tried again but same result.

"Sometime back he was sharing things with me and now didn't tell me anything and don't know where he went! Why the hell is your husband so stubborn?" Ab said to Ritika who was surprised by that.

It was first time that she saw a little bit of friendship between both of them. Otherwise it's always jealousy and taunts.

"I am gonna go find him. I may know where he is. Just let MS know that SA doctor meeting with Rohit. Don't tell him that Rohit went somewhere. He will get worried and Virat needs one of them so" Ab explained to which ritika nodded in understanding.

"Why do they act impulsively everytime" Ab thought how similar Virat and Rohit were in reacting towards their loved ones.

In Virat's room,

"Rohit will be back in sometime" Ritika said and sat beside Anushka who was waiting for Mahi's answers.

"Bhai.. Virat! He is not okay? What surgery?" Anushka asks seeing Virat so weak and sleeping on the hospital bed.

"He has a clot in his brain which got developed in this 2-3 months when he was away! They need to remove it. It can help in his memory or not they don't know yet but it is harmful for his health. His vitals were not okay so they didn't perform yet. But now they can't delay it" Mahi explained everything.

"He will.. he will survive right?" Ritika asked keeping her hand on Anushka who was shocked by all the information.

"We have to keep hope. And we also know how much of fighter our Virat is. So he will don't worry okay" Mahi kept his hand on Anushka's head comforting her.

"So let me wake him up, can u arrange lunch for him? He must be hungry" said Mahi, they both nodded in agreement.

"Cheeku bacha, wake up! Lunch karna hai.." Mahi caressed his hair.

Virat woke up having terrible headache.

"Kya ho Gaya" Mahi asked seeing him stressed.

"Bahot jyada headache ho raha hai!" Virat said pressing his forehead.

Mahi made him sit properly.

"Rohit aya kya? Kaha hai bhai wo?" Virat asked sitting with support of pillow rubbing his head.

"Aa jayega wo doctor se baat kar raha hai" Mahi said but Virat just said with moist eyes and dejected tone now, "he is not gonna come! I know.. he is gonna leave me! It's okay.."

Mahi sighed at that reaction. He didn't know how to assure him. He just signaled Anushka and Ritika to arrange his meal.

Meanwhile in that isolated house,

"Save our careers? What do you mean by that?" Rohit asked feeling dizzy and depressed with all the information. Virat wanted to die that was the only thing which was ringing in his head.

"Ohh Rohit.. it's actually so fun to watch u helpless like this! Why don't I enjoy it" Omar smirked.

Rohit just punched him again making his knuckles bruised and Omar's jaw swell.

Rohit went out of that room for fresh air.

"Rohit.. what are you doing here and that too alone" he heard Ab's voice.

"Rohit answer me .. are you okay?" Ab asked seeing him confused and lost.

Rohit just could not control himself and hugged him hard which surprised Ab. Ab after a second hugged him back.

He felt his shoulder getting wet indicating that Rohit was crying. Ab rubbed his back to calm him down.

"Rohit, what's wrong? Don't cry please! U will get sick.. everything will be okay" Ab continued to console him.

"He didn't want to live. He was tortured. He was in pain" Rohit cried mumbling everything at once which Ab could hardly understand but atleast he got that he was Virat.

It took 15 mins to calm him down.

"I am sorry" Rohit broke the hug a little embarrassed and wiped his face.

"It's completely fine" Ab assured him and passed him water which he had with him.

"What happened? What did u get to know?" Ab asked after a min.

"Not even half of it. Let's go back" Rohit said and was going back when Ab held his arm,

"Umm rohit I know u want to know everything and all that. And for that we have only 6 hours left but now it's important that you be at the hospital" ab said softly.

"Mahi bhai is there with Vi he will handle him don't worry" Rohit said.

"Rohit they are saying that they want to conduct surgery tomorrow" ab said dropping the news on him, "and we don't know what will happen"

"Ohh.." Rohit realised what Ab was trying to say.

"Umm okay.. let's go then" Rohit tried to keep his voice steady but was failing miserably at that.

"You don't have to.. I understand what u are feeling! I  here if u want to say anything. Just know that Virat needs you the most right now" Ab said keeping his hand on his shoulder.

"Virat needs 'us' right now Ab" Rohit said in understanding how Ab must be feeling the same.

He and Virat were best friends but Virat was little brother to Ab.. he knew how much they meant to each other no matter how jealous he was he always respected their bond.

He saw how Ab was trying his best to be strong. But he has seen the pain and emotions when he watches Virat.

"Let's go.. our brother must be waiting" Ab said wiping unshed tears from corner of his eyes.

"I will inform the others" Rohit said texting everyone so that they could come there.
