Best Friends

40. Do you remember?

All there was and all Virat could feel was darkness and pain. He tried so hard to open his eyes but he was failing since one hour or so. If he could try to calculate it hour wise which felt him like an year.

He heard some voice sometime before but ofcourse it was his dream he concluded because no one was with him.

He was so irritated with this darkness and pushed as much as energy as he could to open his eyes. He tried to adjust to the light of the room. Once he was successful he turned his head to the side but all he could feel was immense pain.

Once he was successful, he saw the sight which gave him shock of his life.

"What.. the.. actual.. fuck?" This was his first reaction and words seeing Ro his best friend and Ab his biscuit together. That too not sitting normally and talking but but sleeping in such a position as he and Rohit would do.

They both woke up hearing that voice and only to see the sight they were waiting for since 12 hours. Their friend, their brother opening his eyes and looking at them.

"Vi?" Rohit rushed to him having moist eyes which Ab went to call the doctor, "oh god! U are awake! How do u feel? Are u okay? Are u in pain?", asked Rohit with moist eyes.

"Where.. am.. I? Why.. are.. u.. crying?" Virat asked tiredly. He felt so much pain in his body. To say something also he was requiring a lot of energy. He didn't know what was wrong with him.

"What's.. going.. on? Why.. can't.. I.. speak.. properly?" Virat asked again and now he was panicking. He was not able to speak properly and Rohit was crying. What had happened? What was going on?

"Calm down Vi!" Rohit said as Virat was breathing heavily. Just then the doctor arrived, Rohit was gonna get up from his side but Virat held his hand tightly.

Doctor checked him and seeing Rohit by his side he had calm down.

"How do u feel?" Doctor asked him.

Virat just groaned for the nth time, "Weak.. pain.. in.. my.. whole.. body..", he said.

"That is normal. It will be there for some weeks. What is the last thing u remember?" Asked Doctor wanting to check his activity and memory.

Rohit and Ab were waiting for that answer eagerly. Rohit looked at Ab who was equally nervous as him.

"Umm.. I was hit by a car and nothing after that" Virat said groaning in pain and was feeling drowsy due to medicines.

Listening to that, "Does this mean?" Rohit asked being scared.
Scared, what if his hope gets shattered.

"There is possibility of him getting his memory back. But we can't be sure yet. It may also be a dream or flash of previous incident which may have happened. We will again check him in sometime. Till then you can talk to him and check what all he remembers without stressing him out" doctor informed.

Ab and Rohit nodded. Ab went outside to call Mahi and others to inform that Virat woke up.

"Kya hua? Aise Kyu dekh raha hai?" Rohit asked as Virat was looking at him tensed and also relieved at same time.

"I.. have.. wished.. so.. many.. times.. that.. u.. are .. with.. me.. and.. Mahi bhai.. it is.. still feeling like a dream.." said Virat tiredly.

"It's not a dream. Why don't you rest for sometime? U are still weak!" Rohit said seeing him exhausted. Though he didn't want him to sleep. He wanted Virat to stay awake and talk to him. Tell him that he remembers everything but he can't be selfish.

"Ro.. Mahi.. bhai Kaha.. hai?" Virat asked not seeing him around.

Rohit felt so good that he couldn't define how happy he was about Virat calling him Ro like old times. He was scared to get his hopes high but his voice had that warmth, that love.

"Ro... kya.. hua? Bhai.. naraz.. hai? Tu naraz.. hai kya..?" Virat asked again holding his hand seeing him lost. Rohit saw that fear in his eyes ready to panic again.

"Vi shaant ho ja! Mahi bhai aate hi honge.. ab is calling everyone. Don't worry! U just rest.." Rohit said and assured him.

"Tu.. kahi.. mat.. ja" said Virat feeling tired.

"I am here only" Rohit said hearing his childish voice, "try to get some sleep" he said patting his head.

"No.. no.. sleep..U.. talk.. to.. me.. na"

"What more do u remember Vi?" Rohit asked when Virat said to talk to him. He could not think of anything else other than asking him this.

"What.. do.. you.. mean? I.. remember.. everything. U.. got.. my.. note.. right? Sab.. solve.. hua.. hai.. na?" Virat asked not understanding what was going on. Why was Rohit asking like this?

Ab, Mahi bhai and Faf entered the room along with Anushka, Ritika. 

"U.. remember.. me?" asked Rohit having tears in his eyes. 

"Ro? kya.. bol.. raha.. hai? ofcourse!"

"Tell me what we did when first time we went for night out without telling Mahi bhai?" asked Rohit to be sure. 

"We.. had.. all.. the.. flavours.. of.. ice.. cream, played.. football.. in rain and got.. sick.. next.. day giving.. the.. reason.. to.. Mahi..bhai.. that.. it.. was.. allergy.. of food we.. had.. last night" said Virat already exhausted by talking so much.

"And second time" asked Rohit still not sure. 

Mahi was amused how many things he didnt know these two did back in the day. 

"Umm.. we.. landed.. in.. jail" said Virat trying to remember clearly. 

Rohit literally released the breathe he was holding. He looked at Mahi bhai and hugged him tightly crying his heart out that Virat remembers everything. Everyone had moist eyes while Virat was confused. Ritika hugged Anushka who was also a crying mess. 

"sshh.. Rohit calm down.." said Mahi trying to console him but he couldn't because he was feeling the same. 

Rohit was not calming down and Mahi felt weight leaning on his body realising only that Rohit passed out. 

"Ro.." said Virat seeing him unconscious.

So, finally.. Virat remembers everything. What will happen now?
