25. Don't leave me alone..

"Vi.. Virat! Can you hear me?" Rohit called as Virat was opening his eyes.

"Ah.. ugh.." Rohit could just hear painful groans from him. He caressed his knuckles to calm him down.

It felt so heavy to even open his eyes. It was as if load of bricks was on his eyes and body. It was so painful. Still he tried his best.

He could see Rohit's blur face as he opened half of his eyes.

"Rohit", he mumbled.

"Haan I am here"

"My head feels so heavy" he said forcing himself to open his eyes but the sudden light is causing him to close it again. He wanted to see Rohit and also if Mahi bhai was there with him but he couldn't.

"Cheeku it will feel that way because of medicines. Don't worry we are here with you. Take your time to adjust to the surroundings and then open your eyes"

Virat nodded as he felt someone caressing his hair softly.

It took almost 15 mins for Virat to try to open his eyes and adjust to the light.

He saw Rohit at one side and Mahi at the other, he released a sigh of content seeing them. Without them, he felt that he was in deep dark hole.

"How do you feel?" Rohit asked softly.

"I really don't know" Virat answered honestly. He actually didn't know how he felt.

He was tired and wanted to sleep again but he was scared what if he opens his eyes and he is alone.

Mahi and Rohit themselves were confused and worried about his health and whole situation. They didn't know what to say to him.

"U guys are still angry for things I said?" asked Virat in a low voice.

Instead of answering that Rohit asked, "What is the last thing u remember?"

"I was yelling at you or something for not believing me. You thought I was faking it" answered Virat to which Rohit got guilt again and Mahi had got into thinking.

"I am saying the truth, I really can't remember anything.. only some flashbacks of memories! I really feel helpless but I am not faking it", Virat said wanting them to believe him as he didnt want to stay alone again.

Before Mahi and Rohit could say anything, Jinks entered the room.

Rohit didnt even look at him, he didnt say anything as he wanted to see if Virat says anything.

"How are you?" Jinks asked softly.

Virat held Rohit's hand and whispered, "Who is he?", he felt uncomfortable seeing an unknown person.

Jinks heart broke hearing that. Rohit was upset with him and now Virat didn't know who he was. The two important people in his life and now.. he just felt alone.

"He is your friend", Rohit said to which Virat asked, "like you?"

"No not like him, no one can be ur friend like him. I am just a close friend of yours", Jinks answered instead.

At that time Rohit knew what he meant but he could care less. He was hurt. He was hurt by his Ajju and angry with Virat's Jinks.

"Why are you crying Rohit? You are still upset with me", Virat asked noticing a tear on his hand.

"No I am not Vi, infact I am really sorry for doubting you. I should have trusted you", Rohit said feeling guitly.

"Its okay, you are here with me thats what matters the most", Virat said wanting to wipe his tears but held himself back.

"Cheeku you should rest now kiddo, you are still weak", Mahi said noticing his tired face and drowsy eyes.

Virat looked at him and nodded in no.

Mahi sat beside him and caressed his cheek, "Why kiddo, whats wrong?", Virat held his hand which was on his cheek.

That warmth, that love which he was getting from Mahi bhai, he felt so protected.

"Can you leave?" Rohit said to Jinks as Virat was feeling uncomfortable due to his presence. Jinks knew that was the reason also Rohit was angry on him.

"Kya baat hai bacha?" Mahi asked once Jinks left the room. Virat was still holding his hand sometimes gripping it.

"Whenever I am closing my eyes some or the other memory is haunting me. And I feel that I am alone. What if I open my eyes and you both are not there" Virat said being scared and a lone tears tickled down his cheek.

"its pathetic--"

"Its not.. Cheeku listen to me", Mahi said wiping his tear, "We are with you every single time u will open ur eyes.. u will find one of us"

"Why not both of you?", Virat asked with moist eyes.

Rohit looked at Mahi who had same smile remembering when Virat was sick and he whined for their attention. He literally threatened them that if they both dont stay with him he will not talk to them for a whole day sounding like a whole year to them and will go to Yuvi.

"Sorry its okay, any one of you will also do", Virat said feeling that he sounded like an idiot.

And today he was saying sorry for asking their attention.

"We will be here with you. Don't worry, now take some rest you need it", Mahi said softly.

They sat with him till he got to deep sleep.

Rohit went out knowing he would be asleep for 1 hour given the medicine and Mahi was with him, Virat had held Mahi's hand and was practically sleeping on it.

He saw Jinks there with Smith. It irked him a lot, made him angry, upset!

"Ro please listen to me once, please", Jinks said stopping him.

"Leave my hand Ajinkya.. I dont want to make a scene here", Rohit said bitterly.

Jinks left his hand on that tone... "please let me explain once.. please"

"would you be able to tell me the truth given now virat doesnt remember anything", rohit asked.

Jinks looked at Smith... "I wish I could but I can't", he said helplessly.

"then there is nothing to explain", Rohit said and went from there.

"Rohit.."

"Yes Ab", he answered.

"U okay? u sound low..", Ab asked to which Faf raised eyebrows in confusion and amusement as how did Ab come to know that..

"nothing is okay.. will tell u once we meet.. how come u called? anything u got?", Rohit asked rubbing his temple.

"ya.. turns out Biscuit was admitted two times in that hospital..", Faf said.

"two times..??"

"In one month gap.." Ab said checking the timelines...

"What mess u got into Vi??" thought Rohit listening to that..
