4. Doctors Visit

Next morning to Rohit's surprise it was him who had woke up first. He knocked Virat's room because as he didnt know what was up with him he had to take precautions.

He opened the door slowly to see him sleeping. He decided to get freshen up, then he will wake him up.

Rohit shakes him to wake him up. Virat opened his eyes only to meet blurry image of Rohit.

Rohit - "You should get up, we have to go to the hospital as soon as we can."

Virat nodded and got freshen up himself. Rohit called Ab,Faf regarding the hospital details.

They were in a cab. Virat was looking outside the window thinking - "That he must be very important for Rohit to give him so much of his time and worry about him. But why he cant remember him."

They met the doctor who treated Virat. Nurse took Virat for scans.

Doctor - "So you are his emergency contact, we could not get hold of you.
Mr.DeVilliers had told me that you will be here soon .. I am glad u came .. Virat really needs a closed one."

Rohit - "Yes I am. Can you tell me the details ? He doesnt remember anything doctor. And also he is getting frequent headaches. He collapsed yesterday."

Doctor - "He was in coma for 2 months Mr.Sharma. He got up and couldn't remember anyone. He is suffering from partial amensia. He may probably get his memories back. But u have to ensure u dont have to force him."

"Coma !! Amensia !!"

Rohit said in shock .. he was still processing the memory loss thing and now he got to know he was in coma !!!

Doctor - "I know its hard to understand. You have to be really patient .. he may or may not get his memories back. But if u force him it may impact his brain again which may make u loose him forever."

Rohit - "How did he get admitted here ? Do u have any idea?"

Doctor - "No some random person made emergency call. His face was badly bruised so we couldn't recognise him. He got conscious 10 days back. Then Mr.DeVillers and Mr.Plessis completed the formalities. He had some documents on him but we were not so sure about it."

Rohit - "Is there hope that he may get his memories back ?"

Doctor - "Yes there is, but it would a slow process. There is possibility of both getting it or not."

Rohit - "Why didn't he have his medical documents with him ? I couldn't find it in his house too."

Doctor - "Actually he was very disoriented.. like he was not listening to anyone .. he was mumbling so many things and we could hardly understand.. so we didn't think to give him the details and were waiting for his closed one.
Mr.DeVilliers told us that you will be here soon."

Virat came just in after the scans .. he took the seat beside Rohit.

'Are u okay ? Is it paining still?'

Rohit asked as he took seat beside him and was looking a bit tired.

'No it's not paining .. just I feel tired'

He said answering his questions.

Doctor - It's normal for u to feel tired .. it will take time to recover ..

Rohit - What about the medicines doctor .. are they very high dosage ? Because taking them he seemed completely knocked out.

Doctor - No it's not that much power .. can u show me once ?

Rohit gave him the medicines which Virat took .. Doctor studied it carefully.

"Something is wrong .. this is not we provided .. it is extremely high power .. it may affect his brain more .. I will give you other one.. just tell me how many times have you taken this"

Doctor told Rohit and asked Virat about it. Rohit was listening and frowned at the whole scene.

"I took it 2-3 times I guess .. whenever I felt pain in my head at that time only"

Virat informed the doctor.

Doctor nodded and gave Rohit other medicines..

"Doctor ... Can he travel ? Our home is in India as you know .. I have to take him there .."

Rohit asked wanting to go back and take Virat with him.

"I understand Mr.Sharma .. but u know there will be many people who would meet him ... Which could put him in lot of stress... I would suggest that you stay with him for few weeks ... and then we can have one more check up ... then u can decide"

Doctor said explaining Rohit the condition .. Rohit nodded at it acknowledging his comments.

While going towards the home Virat was living in .. Rohit was thinking what the doctor said.. He looked at Virat who was resting his head on the window of the cab ... how the hell were the medicines exchanged ???

Virat was still in danger ? But the problem is had got solved ?? I myself made sure about it !!

"Let's stop somewhere to have breakfast.. I am really hungry and I don't have anything at home."

Virat said breaking Rohit's thoughts.. Rohit agreed .. he was hungry too .. they only had coffee and tea before coming here.

They stopped at a local cafe .. Rohit ordered breakfast for both of them ..

"Thanks ! For doing all this for me ... taking me to hospital and everything else .. I will pay .."

Virat said to Rohit but couldn't continue as Rohit cut him off.

"Look Vi .. I mean Virat .."

"You can call me Vi .. it feels good"

"Vi I know it's tough ... as u don't remember me or anyone ... but let me tell you ... we were best friends though it is very less to describe our relation ... but we were really really close ... and we will be always ... we have been through a lot of ups and downs and we always had each other's backs .... So u have to never pay me back and all that ... and don't say that ever again !!! And last I am gonna be your side always and I promise u we will get through this together...!!!"

Rohit said holding his hand .. trying to make him understand his importance in Rohit's life.

"I don't know what to say ... Thank you so much Rohit !!"

Virat said gripping his hand back with moist eyes and smile.

"Chalo let's eat now .. I am damn hungry.. and after this we will go grocery shopping.. you barely have anything to eat .. apart from nut butters and bread"

Rohit said as the food came .. Virat agreed to him ... For the first time in 10 days Virat felt a bit normal rather than being disturbed and disoriented.

There was someone with him who knew him better than himself ... It felt that he could survive this stupid memory loss.
