28. MahiRat and AbRo

"what happened Cheeku? What are you thinking? Is it paining somewhere kiddo?" Mahi asked, noticing him silent from the time they came back from tests.

"can I be honest with you?" asked Virat, hesitant to voice out.

"Ofcourse kiddo! Tell me what's on ur mind? What's bothering you?", asked Mahi, wanting to help him in every way he could.

"I am scared Bhai. I am really scared. What if I never remember you guys or anything at all? What if Rohit and you get tired of me because I am not able to remember anything. Because if I don't remember then i would be just some other person for you. Some other person who was in ur life for a brief time. I don't want to stay alone from the time Rohit was at my doorstep. But if I don't recall then I will be all alone", confessed Virat, feeling emotional at the thought of being alone.

Mahi sat in front of him taking his hand in his and wiping his tears. He knew this was gonna come where Virat would be scared. He expected it to come sooner but Mahi knew that Virat was hesitant to share.

"Cheeku I know that you are having this insecure feeling because you don't remember anything. So listen to me.. you are not some other person in my or Rohit's life. You are our best person and very important part of our life. So important that we can't live without you. So we are never ever leaving you alone. Understood?", said Mahi, trying to assure him.

Virat nodded like a child.

"and second thing regarding ur memory, Doctor has clearly said it is partial memory loss and there is hope. So I promise you, whatever time it will take we will wait, we will wait until it happens. And if it doesn't then we will create new ones how about that? With me, Rohit, Anushka, Ritika, Sakshi and our little angels. I promise you, we are always and forever with you. Don't worry about anything!", said Mahi, with a heavy heart but it was important for Virat.

Virat just hugged him tightly hearing that. He buried his head in his shoulder holding him tightly. Mahi hugged him back understanding his state of mind, how emotional and insecure he has been these days.

"want to sleep for sometime?"

He asked breaking the hug noticing that Virat was leaning on him. He was tired and drowsy due to medicines.

"don't go! Rohit didn't come yet. Ask him to come too. Want both.."

He said sleepily. Mahi smiled at that and caressed his hair so he could sleep. He needed that.

Mahi got a little freshen up himself. He called Rohit but his phone was not reaching. He tried again but same result.

At the cafe,

"Rohit stop! ROHIT!" said Ab, running behind Rohit who was ready to hop in his car.

"what? Don't stop me please..", said Rohit, feeling stuck not knowing things which he badly needed to know.

"I am not stopping you but i am coming with you. You are not going alone. One idiot went alone and see what happened.. can't let other one take decision like that", said Ab.

"I am going.. wait-- did you call me an idiot?", asked Rohit raising his eyebrows.

"I did because you are the best friend of another idiot.", Ab shrugged knowing it was the truth.

Rohit didnt know why but he said, "so u accept that I am his best friend."

"I never doubted it for a second."

Ab said it with so much respect and emotion that it touched Rohit. They sat and drove to a location.
