Brianna pov : Chapter Twenty-Five

One Month Later

My eyes widened as I sat up, "Babe!" I screamed, probably scaring the shit out of Kemar

My eyes widened as I sat up, "Babe!" I screamed, probably scaring the shit out of Kemar. I immediately called Alexus after I got the photo she sent.

"Hello?"

"Girl, ya water for real- for real broke?" I felt stupid because my heart was actually pounding out of my chest like it was happening to me.

She laughed, "yeah, Josiah freaking out." She sounded way too calm.

"It hurt? Like on a scale from one to ten? Do you think it's gon' hurt for me? Wait are you okay, is he moving too slowly?" I started firing off questions, before she could say anything I all of a sudden heard thumping, and remembered I had screamed.

He busted the door open, looking around, "what, what happened?" He spoke breathing hard as hell. I smiled sheepishly, "I didn't mean to call you like that I was just excited. But we need to drive to the hospital."

His eyes lowered at me confused, "why? You in pain?"

"Josiah. We don't need that. Put it back. Hurry up!" I heard Alexus shouting.

"Alexus's water broke and they were about to leave to go to the hospital," I explained.

"What that gotta do with us?" He mumbled. I sucked my teeth, "cause I wanna be there when they- boy go get dressed, and let's go." I stopped explaining. Nigga's really don't be caring.

"Hi, I'm here for Alexus Holmes

"Hi, I'm here for Alexus Holmes."

The woman did a little bit of typing before looking back at me. "She's currently in labor. As soon as you can go up to her room I'll let you know."

I nodded, thank you.

Suddenly, Kemar smacked his lips, "we could be chillin in the bed. Could've been down here when the baby was actually delivered." I shook my head when an older woman glanced over at us.

"You got them looking at us."

He mugged me with the, "do you think I give a fuck," look. "We've only been here for 30 minutes, Kemar."

"Feel like three hours."

"Excuse me, miss?" I looked up from my phone seeing an older white woman standing in former of me

"Excuse me, miss?" I looked up from my phone seeing an older white woman standing in former of me. "Yes?" She gave me a warm smile.

"You're here for Ms. Holmes? You can go up to room 217 now."

My eyes widened, "oh, thank you." She nodded, walking away. I tapped Kemar until he woke up. "Hm," he groaned into my shoulder. "Come on, there ready." No joke I low-key regret coming as early as we did too. We sat there for a good five hours.

"I can't go sit in the car-" he stopped when I gave him a look.

I peeked my heading into the room before making my way in. Josiah was the first to notice us. He put his finger up to his lip and pointed to the sink in the corner of the room.

I didn't waste a second as I started washing my hands keeping in mind that Alexus was asleep.

"What name did y'all go with?" I mumbled peeking at her over his shoulder. She was just so precious. I couldn't really tell who she looked like but she has his complexion.

Iyahna Janelle Langston

"That's pretty," I whispered. He turned to me, "Hm, I know you dying to hold her. I ca' hear your foot tapping." I chuckled, low-key kinda nervous.

"Don't drop my baby Brianna," he said, seeing the look on my face. "I'm not, move." He slowly sat Iyahna in my arms, making my heart melt.

She was just so perfect.

"I know you not crying," Kemar mumbled as he leaned against the door. "Leaving me alone," I muttered then laughed.

"Oh my god, I'm gonna be a mama soon and I'm already an aunty

"Oh my god, I'm gonna be a mama soon and I'm already an aunty. Why is life moving so fast?" I glanced at Kemar. I probably look fucking crazy. He walked over to me sitting by my side.

I looked at Josiah seeing him grab and rag and wipe down Alexus's forehead and neck.

"Time don't wait for nobody. Life moves fast, if you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. Just stay appreciating the little things and we'll be ight." He mumbled, pecking my lips.

"She don't want to see all that," Josiah cringed. "Know you don't, she not even awake-" my words caught in my throat when I looked down to see her big brown eyes staring back into mine.

Instantly my eyes started to water. "Kemar, hurting up and take her before I start sobbing," I started breathing heavily knowing it was coming.
