Subaru pov: We had been climbing for about twenty minutes, eventually needing to take a break.
"It would be much easier if it was just Nenechi, Omarun, and Aloe. " Botan said
"I'm sorry for being slow." I said
Botan shook her head.
"Don't be, it's kind of my fault for not paying much attention to the surroundings earlier."
Botan was being humble; it was my fault; I should have been paying attention; it wasn't her job to do so.
"Don't beat yourself up over it," Mumei said.
"But I'm an idiot." I stated
"Wait... I didn't sense her at all," Botan said in shock.
"You surprised me well, and I do really have a scent," Mumei said.
"Why are you here?" I asked
"Can I not see if my older sister is okay?" I questioned
"Phew! You are safe!" Kiara said as she and Reine appeared.
"I'm glad!" Lui-nee stated
"Wait, I thought I told you to stay with Chloe!" Mumei said
"But I missed you, Mumei-senpai!" Lui-nee cried
"Chloe is with Zeta; she should be fine, but I don't want such a cute orca to get hurt," Mumei said.
"You seem to like Orcas a lot, Mumei," I said.
"Well, I--" she paused for a brief moment. "Nevermind, ignore me," she sighed.
"I'm intrigued. What were you going to say?" I asked
"N-nothing. I also like whales." Mumei said she was embarrassed.
"She was breaking the 4th wall, Subaru-senpai," Nene stated.
"Shut up!" Mumei shouted
"Mumei, can you read minds?" I asked
"Oh yeah, you didn't know," I sighed.
"No, I didn't," I replied.
"I can't read that girl's mind; it's blank," Mumei said, pointing at Nenechi.
"Really?" I said, "Giggling!"
"Hey, I'm smart!" Nenechi shouted
"Yeah sure..." Polka sighed
"Be nicer to Nenechi!" Aloe shouted
"Back me up, Shishiron!" Polka said
"No..." Botan-chan said
"Wait, Reine, how did you get here?" I asked
"I... wait, how did I get here?" She asked
"None of us flew her down here," Kiara said.
"I flew?" Reine said
"Well, you can flutter," Lui-nee said.
"Who cares?" Mumei said.
"Can we add Kaela to the family?" Reine asked
"No, she isn't a bird," Kiara said.
"She looks like a penguin," Mumei said.
"I suppose she does," Kiara said.
"Okay, so how will we get up?" I asked
"Well, three out of five of us can fly up," Mumei said.
"Or we could be right there..." Botan pointed to both Zeta, Chloe, and Kaela.
They weren't far away, so how didn't we notice it was another twenty minutes or so since we had to go up and around to reach them, therefore we weren't right there?
