Trying to hide your laugh you let out a very obvious fake cough as Nat's eyes flick toward you as she continues her debrief about the mission. You glance over to Wanda who is staring daggers at you, arms folded over her chest with her head slightly tilted.
"I'm just messing with you, Wanda. You can unclench your jaw now."
"You're not nearly as funny as you think you are, you know."
"No need to lie to me or yourself, gorgeous. We both know I am extremely funny. But you should probably be a good girl and pay attention to Natasha."
You feel Wanda groan before the warm feeling leaves your body and you watch Wanda send you a glare before orienting her body away from you and toward Natasha. Just as you decide to finally pay attention to Natasha's mission debrief, you feel a hand rest on your leg. Glancing down you smile as you watch Yelena's hand gently rest on your leg, giving it a squeeze.
"– Sam and Steve, along with Tony and Vision will leave town later today to stakeout their bases tomorrow, while Clint and Kate will head to theirs today since Kate is already with Clint. Everyone will sit on their base for three days. The object is to find the person in charge of the new recruits as well as the main scientists and gather as much information on them and their past work experiences as possible. Everyone will be back here by the end of next week to debrief. As of right now, our next steps after gathering this intel is sending y/n and someone else into a lab to get the final version of the serum. Once we have that, Bruce and Gwen will do their tests and we will wait on them to make an antidote."
I still can't believe this is happening.
What if someone gets shot with the serum and I'm not there to help?
What if Hydra captures someone during the stakeouts?

The sudden squeeze on your leg stops your thoughts as your eyes snap to Yelena who is already waiting for your eyes to meet hers. You see her flick her eyes toward Wanda and back to you, but before you can question it you pick up on Natasha dismissing the group. The sound of chairs dragging against the floor scatters your attention.
"Hey, detka." Yelena's voice comes out uncharacteristically soft. The two of you are left alone in the team room as everyone else went along their way to prepare for the upcoming mission. You hum in response, giving her your full attention. "Would you want to get out of the Tower and do something with me today? Just you and I?"
A small smirk flashes across your face as you meet Yelena's somewhat hesitant eyes. "Are you asking me on a date, Yelena Belova?"
