-and for the first the time, i felt at ease.

"you're alive..." i muttered..." you're really alive..."

"is this real.." i asked," is this really you?"

"i'm in your house right now." she responded.

my heart pounded heavily, a huge weight lifted off my shoulders.

finally. i've heard her voice again..

"daniel?" she said," are you there.?"

"i'm here, im on my way."

"where are you?"

"the hospital. not for long though, ill see you soon."

"don't hang up." she said," please."

"i might have too.. only for a moment." i said," don't worry, ill call you back!" i said, doing my best to reassure her," i promise."

a long pause came from her end of the phone.

"okay."

"i love you." i said," i love you so much."

"i love you too.. don't keep me waiting." she said softly.

"i wouldn't ever."

i hung up the phone abruptly as i stood up from my bed.

my mind was clouded with hundreds of questions, but i pushed them all away as i realized i needed to leave. and fast.

i pulled up darius's contact immediately.

pressing call, i waited a moment before it connected.

"yo?" he asked," you good?"

"pick me up, leaf green hospital, ten minutes."

"on the way."

i hung up the phone and walked towards the direction of my backpack.

"ouch." i said, as my iv got caught in my arm.

i looked down at it and tore off the tape, ripping the needle out of my arm.

i grabbed my bag and found a pair of shorts and a shirt.

quickly taking off the paper thin gown; i changed into my more comfortable clothes.

smoothing them down my chest, i zipped my bag back up and grabbed my belongings as quickly as possible.

creeping my out of the hospital room, i was hit with a wave of sterilization.

damn. hospitals smell overly clean.

i mean i guess you must have a hospital clean...

i heard a few voices in the hall and i ducked into the emergency stairwell.

looking at the map on the wall, i planned my wait out for my exit.

"down these steps... and take a left."

i put the plan into motion, and quickly exited out the back doors.

"here." darius texted.

"in the back." i responded. scanning the area for anyone.

and just like that, a black camero pulled up besides me.

"get in, let's go." he said quickly.

"preciate you."

.
.

i paced his house in anticipation, hoping he's gonna be here soon, or at least call me back.

but as it seems he's doing something, so i decided not to stress about it.

i sat on his couch and held my knees to my chest, leaning back into it softly.

"who knew how quiet it is without him." i said gently," i never thought i could be this bored."

i should cook for him.

i stood up abruptly and walked over the kitchen, looking to see what could be made today.

i opened the fridge, expecting some grand feast to appear in front of me.

i was surely wrong.

the fridge was dead empty, like someone just bought it and never filled it up.

i shouldn't have expected much, neither of us have been here in a long period of time. looking back at it, i was the last person in this house.

"damn." i huffed.

i sat back down on the couch and sat there restless, desperately waiting for him to just burst through the door.

no one in the world made me feel as euphoric as he does.

the idea of him being so close to me again warms my heart.

it's been the worst few days of my life, no one could understand it if i even explained it to them.

but how do i tell him...?

when he asks where i've been, what will i tell him..?

i held my knees to my chest again, and fumbled with the necklace.

"hurry up... please." i said softly,"it's been too long.."

i thought about the way my arms would wrap around his neck, and the way my head would rest on his shoulder as he picked me up.

the way he'd swing me around the room as he laughed, his pure laugh..

i can't wait for him to walk through this door..

.
.
.

"speed!" i yelled," come on!"

"we're almost there man! what's the rush?!"

"it's nothing!" i snapped," i just have some shit to take care of."

he nodded and pushed the pedal down to the floor, jolting me backwards
