Issue 38#"The newest and redoubtable foe for Jabez! ZIP!"

{L.A} 

One hour later.

'I hafta find out what's his plans wit' zat supersoldier! I cannot leggo of the fact Demogorgon is out on the loose, bound to cause bedlam in MY city!' Jabez was outside of the coffee shop, he knew one thing about Demogorgon, he never stayed in one place. Jabez began to inspect from left to right, until someone wrapped their arm around his."Hey, baby!" Bai winked at the shorter male, she still thinks he really chose her, didn't she? 'I just gotta escort her to school so she won't throw herself in danger.' Jabez just thought of it as a causal thing."Waddup." He still had no idea what to do with Bai, she grabbed his other hand to wrap it around her hip. 

"I'm just glad I saw you before Yancy did, she can never really get someone to like her anyway. Well, anybody with muscles." Bai groped his arm, stroking it feeling his biceps. "How about I just carry you to school bridal style?" Jabez swiftly brings her to bridal style, she crept a grin, wrapping her arms around his nape. "You're my knight in shining armor." She pecked his cheek, keeping her head against his shoulder. "Yabba dabba doo." In one stride he landed in White Star Academy's perimeters. 

She was enjoying the time of her life, Jabez lets her go. Before she might walk away, she bids him farewell. As her group of cheerleaders joined the leader, the bunch were taking gazes at the hero."He's just the greatest! My boyfriend's L.A's superhero." Bai stated, she was kind of a congenial person, even though she was a little proud of herself in getting him as hers. "Shouldn't you ladies be goin' in the building?" Jabez was standing before them, ineffable. 

'If Demogorgon finds out I'm here, he'll put innocent lives at stake!' Jabez thought. "Well, we were just talking about you, sweetums." Bai moves a strand of his hair aside, caressing his cheek whilst doing so."And that, we've got plenty of time before we go. Why? Wanna spend more time with me?" She scooped him up in her arms then placing him atop her shoulders, this was ill-fated for Jabez. "You guys are such a' sweet couple!" Patricia says as they go into the building. 

'I never asked for a preposterous relationship, in fact, I'd rather be finding out where Demogorgon and his supersoldier is!' Jabez shifted his head to the side, noticing posters of him was tacked on certain areas in the corridors. 'I've gotta make a convincing alibi to bolt, she really thinks this is a real relationship when in reality it isn't!' Jabez quizzically placed his digits under his chin. 

"Bai, I've got work. Yanno, I'm a superhero, and superheroes gotta keep on a qui vive." Jabez added, as he slipped down from her shoulders. "I want you to promise me if you go out, no matter who flirts with you. Don't accept, you belong to me, okay?" She grabbed his hand, rubbing his knuckles. "Crystal." Jabez says she brings up his hand up to her lips, pressing against them gently."I love you so much. Jabez~" She lets go of him, then as he goes off. 

'What am I supposed to do? I'm carrying more than a weight, a relationship! Its a lot harder keeping my superhero job. When Bai's in my life, I get it, she loves me, but I don't know about the way I feel about her.' Jabez left the building, just beyond him was Yancy.'What am I supposed to tell Yancy? About what's happening to me? She'll get herself in trouble if I did, life has more conflict than being a superhero, ain't it?' Jabez continued going inwards her direction, she waved at his direction. 

"Hey, Jabez! Didn't think I'd see you coming to my school, what's the occasion?" She rushes up to him, then placing digits across her hip. "Y'see, Yancy.... A UFO!" Jabez had no skills in mendacity so he chose to point his finger upwards the skies, once she turned her head into that direction. Once she turned her head back to where he was, she quirked.'Must've been serious, aliens might be attacking us already!' She thought Jabez was out on saving L.A from aliens, when in fact, that Bai teenager couldn't leave him alone. 

But hey, he wasn't testy around others, he was altruistic. 

Somewhere in L.A 

Screams and explosions were happening in a part of L.A. "Hah! Where is Jabez to save the day?! Nowhere I tell you!" Demogorgon assumed he had finally brought down the hero, shrunken in his own title. "That's a little facetious, Demogorgon, even from your standards," Jabez says aloud, catching his attention as he flicked his glares inwards his direction. "About time! All this tedious blowing up isn't fun when something can't catalyze you!" Demogorgon was waiting for him, he gets into a fighting stance.

His armor began to veil his being, protecting himself from the other."Zip, at my side! Let's bring down L.A's superhero once and--" Before he would continue talking vaingloriously again."Seriously? Pick up something more original, villains are meant to do that." Jabez replies once he leaped inwards their direction. Zip picks up all sorts of details from Jabez at an unfathomable level. 'Target stronger, upgrade.' Zip grabbed Jabez by the head, with his bare hand. 

"Great Scott!" Demogorgon recoiled at its actions, it sends Jabez straight into a building.'Its learning its own powers, yes! This is the kind of thing that can bring down the hero Jabez!' Demogorgon flies upwards Jabez's direction, once he sticks himself on the walls. "You really have got to be the greatest arch-nemesis! Your own material can bring you down, never thought I'd be seeing the day!" Demogorgon opened his palms out, firing beams thru his palms. Sending him groundwards while the whole building was effortlessly obliterated.

'It's making itself stronger, the only way I'll defeat it is by taking back what belongs to me!' Jabez thought, on his knees as Zip came charging in his direction. 'He's thinking high and mighty like always, but with everything I've done. I'll still outwit him.' Jabez kips up, anticipating for their attacks once more.
