Fernando frowned walking into the bedroom that he shared with his wife, he knew that there was something on her mind and he worried what it could be.

Fernando had noticed how quiet she had been since Olalla had left and he couldn’t help but worry that his ex-wife had said something that she shouldn’t of.

Fernando watched his wife as she prepared for bed, she had changed out the clothes that she had worn for Christmas day and into her navy stripe maternity nightdress.

“Cass is everything okay?” Fernando walking towards her, his brown eyes filled with concern as she brushed her hair; he couldn’t help but wonder what was bothering her.

Cassidy blinked surprised turning to look at her husband, she hadn’t heard him step into the bedroom and she was sure he’d still be checking on the children before bed.

“I can see that something is bothering you amor, you’ve been quiet this evening,” Fernando said moving to sit down on the bed, his brown eyes watching her as he tried to work out what was bothering her.

Cassidy looked down knowing that she should have known that he would have noticed how quiet she had been since Olalla had left; she’d had a lot on her mind after their small talk.

Cassidy nibbled on her lip trying to ignore the doubt that Olalla had put in her mind, she knew it was silly but what had been said had really stuck with her.

“Cass por favor,” Fernando said taking his wife’s hand concerned, he didn’t like how quiet she had been and he was moments away from phoning Olalla and demanding to know what she had said to Cassidy.

Fernando had done his best to keep them apart and clearly he hadn’t done a good enough job; he hated that something had upset her.

“It’s just something that I thought about,” Cassidy said carefully, she rested a hand on her bump knowing that she didn’t want him to worry about anything. Cassidy looked down at her hand that was joined with his, she didn’t want him thinking that she had doubts about their marriage.

Fernando sighed bringing Lucia’s hand to his lips and pressed a kiss to it, he didn’t like that she was being so quiet; he hated that she was keeping something from him.

“Amor,” Fernando whispered as he looked at her concerned, he wanted her to tell him what was bothering her and he hoped that it wasn’t something that his ex-wife had said.

The last thing that Fernando wanted was for Cassidy to believe anything that Olalla had said, he was finished with that part of his life and he didn’t like the idea that anyone was messing with his marriage.

“I was just thinking about how different everything could have been,” Cassidy said looking at him, she offered him a small smile knowing that she didn’t want to worry him over her silly thoughts.

Fernando frowned at her words, he didn’t like where this was going and he knew that Olalla was to blame for his wife’s train of thought.

“Don’t think like that,” Fernando said moving closer to Cassidy, he pressed another kiss to her hand and smiled at her.

Fernando didn’t want to know what had made her think like that and he really didn’t care what Olalla might have said; Cassidy was the one that he wanted and nothing would change that.

“I can’t help it… this could have been all so different, it could have been me in Olalla’s place,” Cassidy said feeling tears fill her eyes trying to explain what she had been thinking about since his ex-wife had gone home.

Fernando shook his head knowing that he should have never allowed Olalla out of his sight, he should have known that she’d go and say something like this to Cassidy; he didn’t trust her a bit with his wife.

“It was always going to end like this,” Fernando said certainly as he smiled at Cassidy and brushed his fingers tenderly along her chin so that she would look at him.

Fernando rubbed his thumb along her cheek as he watched his wife for a moment before he ducked down and kissed her; he didn’t know where he would be without her.

“You’re my soul-mate Cass, I was always meant to be with you,” Fernando said sure that Cassidy was the one for him, he had never felt like this before and while they had their problems they always worked things out in the end.

Cassidy smiled at his words, she was glad that she had Fernando in her life; she didn’t think she would have been able to cope with the twins on her own.

“I would have found you one way or another, it doesn’t matter what happened in the past,” Fernando said moving closer to his wife, he rested a hand on her bump knowing that he was never meant for Olalla and the only thing good that came from that relationship with Nora and Leo.

Fernando wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world and now that he had Cassidy, he wasn’t going to allow anything to come between them.

“So are you excited to move to Madrid?” Fernando asked cuddling Cassidy close, he looked at her in the dark knowing that in a few days they would be leaving; he still had one last match to play as a Chelsea footballer and then he was done.

Cassidy nodded her head as she relaxed in Fernando’s arms, she was still a little nervous about moving but she knew that it would be good for the children.

Cassidy had already started learning Spanish and she was glad that Flori had offered to help her out as much as possible.

Cassidy was all too aware that there were a lot of people that went to live abroad that didn’t bother to learn the language and for her it just wasn’t acceptable.

Cassidy would have children that actively spoke Spanish and it was a must that she be able to do as well especially when it came time for the twins to enrol in playschool.

“It will be an interesting new start,” Cassidy replied carefully closing her brown eyes, this was happening and she was just as aware that they would be having a baby soon as well.

Fernando chuckled as he felt his baby kick, he couldn’t wait to be back playing for his first club and he hoped that everything would be okay when they arrived in Madrid.

Fernando had asked his parents to make sure that the house was ready for when they moved; he wanted everything to be perfect for their move to the bigger house.

It was a six bedroom house and would allow for each of their children to have a bedroom to themselves, it would also be nice to have a larger space for their growing family.

“It will,” Fernando agreed as he thought about what life would be like for them, he knew that it was strange but he couldn’t help but feel hopeful for what would happen.

Cassidy slowly drifted off to sleep leaving Fernando to think about how big this move was going to be and how it could change their lives.

Fernando had already set up his own gym company ‘Nine Fitness’, he wanted to be prepared for when his career ended and still be able to support his wife and five children when the time came.

Fernando looked at his sleeping wife and smiled, he truly believed that they were soul-mates and he was sure that no matter what happened they would be okay.
