"This is bad," Ron complained. I looked up to him from my Astronomy homework. "We're the only ones here without dates."

I watched as Snape pushes Ronald's face back into his book. I looked back down at mine, and began to work again when he peeked up again.

"Well, besides Neville."

"Yeah, but he'd be able to take himself," Harry commented.

I shook my head and sighed, trying my best to block them out.

"It might interest you to know that Neville already has someone," Hermione whispered to them.

Ron groaned, "Great. Now I'm even more depressed."

"Maybe if you two would be actual Gryffindors and ask a girl you two would have one," I commented.

"Hey," Ron looked slightly hurt by my comment.

I heard the sound of paper moving, and I hoped it was them doing their homework, but when do they ever do that?

After a minute or two of silence, Ron had to speak, "Well, Hermione you're a girl."

I placed my head in my hand and continued to falsely read, This can only go well.

"Yeah, I thought that was pretty obvious," Hermione responded.

"Would you want to go-" smack.

I withheld my laughter and bit my lip.

"It's one thing for a guy to go alone, but for a girl it's just sad," Ron commented.

And this is where I leave, I stood up but I couldn't get away so quick.

"I'm not going alone! Somebody had already asked me before you! And I said yes!" Hermione whispered to Ron. I heard shuffling of books and papers as she got up from her seat.

I walked over to Snape and handed in my journal. I began to walk out when Hermione caught up with me, "Can you believe that?! Like can he not be such a-"

"Don't say anything you'll regret later," I told her with a smile.

She sighed, "It just...makes he frustrated I guess."

"I know, me too. But that's the way he is. You can't change that. And I don't think you want to," I told her.

She huffed, "I don't know. But I do know that we'll be getting ready together, right?"

"Yep! Plans are still on," I smiled.

I was sitting on the couch, watching Harry be in grief. He was laying down. His head was on my lap, and I was just patting him.

The common room door opened and a bunch of girls care rushing in helping Ron. Harry and I both stood up as they sat him down on the couch.

"It's alright Ron. It doesn't matter anyways," Ginny cooed.

"Whats happened?" I asked.

"Yeah, whats the matter with ya Ron?" Harry asked.

"He just asked our Fluer Delacour out," Ginny answered.

"You did it," I smiled. "You asked her out!"

"What'd she say?" Harry asked.

"Obviously no," Hermione spoke up.

Ron just shook his head and wore a disgusting look on his face.

She said yes?!" Hermione seemed astonished.

"Oh, don't be ridiculous. She was walking by, and they walk wonderfully. Then...it all...it all just kind of...came out."

"He almost screamed at her. It was a bit terrifying," Ginny nodded.

"What else could I have done? I ran for it! I can't do this Harry," Ron hung his head low.

I listened as Ron began to ramble. I noticed Harry had gone after the Twins, but I was more focused on Ron, "Well, I think Harry's going to fix it."

•••

It was Christmas Eve. Hermione and I were getting each other hyped and dressed up.

"Ouch!" I sucked on my finger and held the curled in my other hand.

"You okay, Bridge?" She asked while putting on her dress.

"Yep," I replied. "Peachy." We had both decided on a pattern that we'd do. One of us would do our makeup and put on our dress, the other would do hair and shoes. Then we switch. I already had on my dress and makeup. I was just finishing touches on my hair.

"Could...you...arg...help me zip?" I heard Hermione call for me. I put down the curled just in time. I got up and walked over to her. She had her back turned when I got there. I zipped her up and she turned around.

I looked her up and down, "You go girl! Honestly. You're going to knock them all dead."

She sighed, "Thanks."

I looked up to her face. She seemed sad and almost about ready to cry. "Don't cry," I whined. "You'll ruin your makeup."

She sniffled, "Yeah I guess so."

"Why are you crying anyways?"

"Its just...I've never had a true friend like you. And even though we've had our arguments, you've always been there for me. To lift me up or something. Thank you." She engulfed me into one of her hugs.

I hugged back, "I love being your friend, 'Mione. And I will always be." We stopped hugging. I looked at her, "Now, let me put on my shoes and we can go. Our guys are waiting."

"Which ones: Harry and Ron or Krum and Draco?"

"Both."

•••

I turned the corner to see if there were a lot of people. There was a little. I turned to Hermione, "Ready?"

"Ready."

"One. Two," I stepped out with Hermione, and we began to descend down the stairs. People began to stare and it was making me slightly uncomfortable. Harry was at the bottom of the stairs. He turned around; his mouth was then agape.

"Why are they staring?" Hermione whispered to me on the way down.

"I'm hoping it's because we look good," I answered.

We made it to the bottom without falling, surprisingly, and Krum took Hermione. I looked at Harry and laughed, "You might want to close your mouth, Harry. A fly could welcome itself home."

"Still the same you," he sighed, shaking his head.

I looked around and he caught my eye. He was handsome as ever. He walked up to me, "You look beautiful."

"Thank you," I bowed. "You look dashing."

"Come. Come," McGonagall hurried up into the line behind Harry.

"Wait, we have to dance first?" I asked.

"Yep," Draco nodded. "You were late when she was explaining."

"I was getting ready. You can't rush beauty."

He just chuckled, causing me to as well. The doors opened, and the students had formed a line, clapping and cheering. I smiled and waved as we passed through.

We all stood on the dance floor. I looked to Draco, "I'm terrified."

"Me too. Just pretend that it's just us two. Nobody else."

Hope it works. He took my hand and waist while I took his shoulder and hand. The music started and we all danced in a perfect rhythm. None of us off beat.

Soon the rest began to join in. And when I mean rest, I meant the rest of the student body. It was insanely packed but we managed. We ended the song. Throughout the night they played muggle and wizard songs. All were pretty good.

"Let me go take off my shoes really quick," I told Draco as I walked over to our table we were sharing with Krum and Hermione. I sat down and took them off. I placed them next to my chair and was about to get up when Albus came over, "You having fun, Ms. Meadows?"

"Yes! Absolutely! Why?" I asked.

"Well I was hoping we'd get a song out of you tonight," he smiled.

"Wait now? I don't have a song picked out yet," I stood up. Someone caught my eyes as I did so. It was that fake Hufflepuff. I looked to Dumbledore as a thought came to mind, "Actually. I do have one."

"Perfect, could you sing it now?" He asked.

"I'd love to," I smirked. I flagged down Draco. He came over, "Hey I gotta go sing. That cool?"

He nodded and ran back to the crowd. I walked up on stage. Everyone noticed and went crazy.

"Hello, ladies and gents! How are we doing tonight?" I spoke into the mic. They all cheered. "Great!"

I took off the mic. The music started up.

(Best Song Ever by One Direction)

Maybe it's the way he walked
Straight into my heart
And stole it

Through the doors
And passed the guards
Just like he already owned it

I said can you give it back to me
He said never in your wildest dreams

Everyone was a jumping around and dancing. Getting ready for the beat to drop.

And we danced all night
To the best song ever
We knew every line
Now I can't remember
How it goes but I know
That I won't forget him
And we danced all night
To the best song ever

For the second verse, I knew I was going to do it on the floor. So I got to the stairs and guys were there, some I had never seen before. They all lended a hand and helped me down. I felt like a goddamn queen.

Said his name was George Rose
And his daddy was a dentist
Said I had a dirty mouth
Then he kissed like he meant it

I danced with Hermione for a bit. It's one of the happiest times I have seen her. I began to walk slowly towards Draco and he walked slowly towards me until the beat drop.

I said can I take you home with me
He said never in your wildest dreams

Then everyone was jumping for the chorus. I wasn't cause I knew I'd loose my breath. I made my way onto the stage again during the bridge.

One. Two.
One. Two. Three!
And we DAAANNNNCCCEEEDDD!
We knew every liiine
How it goes but I know
That I won't forget him
Best song eeevvveeerrr

Hermione, Krum, Draco and I were all dancing and having fun. The song ended and both the guys were going to get us some drinks while we rested our feet and legs...and bodies.

"Let's go see the boys," I suggested. She agreed, and we headed over there.

"Is it hot in here?" Hermione asked after we had sat down. Nobody replied but we still had smiles on our faces. "Victor and Draco are going to get drinks. Care to join us?" Hermione asked quite politely.

"No," Ron cringes his nose. "We don't care to join you and your Victor."

"What's got your fangs in a twist?" I asked.

"Well Victor is a Durmstrang, and Draco is a Slytherin brat. You two are fraternizing with enemies of our kind."

"The enemy?!" Hermione asked. "Weren't you wanting his autograph not two days ago?"

"Besides," I piped in, "the Triwizard Tournament is about cooperation of international Magic schools. To make friends. Not enemies."

"Well I think both have more than friendship in their minds," Ron spoke.

I rolled my eyes, "Come on, Hermione. I'm thirsty." I stood up and Hermione did as well.

We began to walk towards the refreshments. "I can't believe he's being this way." We met up with our guys and continued to have a nice time. That was until we met up with Ron again.

"Oh please," Ron rolled his eyes. "He's obviously using you. And Bridge, Draco Just wants to get into your pants so he can tell the whole school."

"Excuse me?!" We trailed after him.

"We can take care of ourselves Ronald! We don't need you to be there one hundred percent of the time," Hermione was seriously angered by what Ron had said.

"I complete doubt that," Ron replied. "He's way too old."

"What?! Is that what you're really thinking?!" She asked.

"Yes. That's what I think," Ron stood his ground. We exited the Great Hall.

"You must know the solution to this then?" I told him.

"Go on," Ron stopped at the stairs.

"Next time there's a ball or dance, get courage and ask instead of waiting until last minute!" Hermione had tears streaming down her face.

Ron started to stutter and I couldn't make out what he was saying besides when he looked behind us, "Harry!"

We both spun around, "Where have you been?"

He went to answer but Hermione was too frustrated to let him finish, "Just never mind. Both of you to bed!"

He made his way passed her towards Ron. As they ascended up stairs, we heard Ron comment, "They get scary as they get older."

"Ronald, you ruin everything!" Hermione cries after them.

They rushed up the stairs, and Hermione flopped down on the stairs. She threw off her shoe. Whether it was in pain or frustration I didn't know.

I knelt down beside her, "Hermione?" She kept her face down, hidden within her arms and knee. "Hermione look at me."

She looked up at me. Her makeup was running all over the place. I used my thumbs to wipe away her tears, "Why all the tears? Especially over him?"

"He just ruins everything for me," she cried into my hands.

"I know it," I told her. "And I know how much you like him, but Ron can be such an idiot. And we can't change that. He's going to say a lot and do a lot of stupid stuff. And you have to let it go. He's going to end up feeling terrible and will apologize. And we just have to wait. But right now, you are with a guy who is pretty cool as we know, and doesn't make you cry, and your best friend. So who's going to win tonight?"

"Me," she smiled.

"Thanks my girl," I smiled.

"But that crying and arguing made me tired," she laughed.

I removed my hands, "Then I could take you to the common room, or Krum, or-"

"I'll ask Victor if he can," she sat up and wiped her face. "I don't want to bother you this evening."

"Hermione, you wouldn't be bothering me," I replied.

"Just let Victor take me. Spend some time with Draco," she smirked.

I rolled my eyes, "Fine." I stood up and lent my hand. She took it. I helped her up. "Now lets go find our men."

•••

I hugged Hermione good night as she left the Great Hall with Krum. It was just me and Draco, and whoever was still in the Great Hall.

"I don't want this night to end," I looked up to my prince.

"Then it won't," he smiled down at me.

"Astronomy Tower?" I whispered.

"Absolutely," he smiled. We both ran in the direction of it. We made it up there. We stood against the railing, watching the stars.

It had stopped snowing but it was still a little chilly. The stars were absolutely gorgeous. I couldn't help but smile as they shimmered.

"Bridget," Draco caught my attention. I looked over to him. "Where'd you go tonight?"

"The boys, mainly Ron, was being an absolute git. Hermione was getting really upset. It got bad. I had to stay with her though. She's my best friend."

"Ah," he nodded. After a few seconds of watching the stars, he held out his hand for me to take. I did. We danced for a bit, even though we had no music. It was a perfect little date.

I stepped on my foot the wrong way, and fell into Draco. He caught me, which I thought was awfully cheesy. We stared at each other for the longest time. But it felt as if time had stopped or slowed.

My heart was racing in my chest as I watched his eyes flicked from mine to somewhere lower on my face. He leant down, and-to meet him halfway-I stood up.

At first I didn't notice that the space between our lips had disappeared. Then it hit me. I didn't feel the fireworks everyone talks about or the way movies described. Instead I felt waves crashing up against a cliff on a stormy night. Instead I felt fire engulfing a forest. Instead I felt something different yet still magical. And I loved it.

We both parted, smiles engulfing our faces. I grabbed his face, and brought him in for another one. Our lips moved slowly was perfectly. I parted and looked into his gray eyes, "You smell good."

He busted up laughing, "Ugh. You're such a nugget."

"Nugget?" I laughed.

"Look I think we're both tired. Let's head back, okay?"

"I'm also cold," I nodded.

"Why didn't you say anything?" He started to take off his jacket.

"That's why," I grabbed his hand and we began to run down the halls.
