Baekhyun's POV
"Taehyung I swear if you try to eat that snow one more time" I scolded him resulting in him pouting.
"B-but daddy said eating snowflakes brings good luck" He whined looking to his father for help.
Chanyeol chuckled nervously while scratching the back of his head and I scowled at him. "What? I didn't tell him to eat the snow off the ground"
I scoffed "Yeah and he's also 3, knowing the difference between snow falling and snow already on the ground isn't something he'd understand"
"Hey! My son is very smart" Chanyeol looked offended and I rolled eyes before pressing the doorbell.
I heard and I'm coming and before I knew it the door opened revealing Daehyun in a sweater and Santa hat.
"Oh! You guys finally made it!" Daehyun said with a bright smile. He bent down to the twins height and ruffled Taehyung and Chelsea's hair "What's up little dudes"
They both flashed him a giddy smile and I giggled a bit "I see someone's happier than usual"
He made a long exhale "What can I say? It's a couple days before christmas and I just can't help but feel the Christmas spirit"
I heard Chanyeol chuckle and mutter "Nice hat" making me nudge him hard in the stomach.
Daehyun looked at him wanting to say something but before he could I spoke up "Why don't we all just get inside, don't want the twins catching a cold"
As soon as we entered the house I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. Warmness filled me and soon I inhaled the scent of fresh cookies and hot chocolate.
By now the twins had ran to their grandpa and Daehyun followed making sure the two didn't hurt themselves.
I felt hands snake around my waist from the back and laughed "What do you think you're doing?"
I felt his breaths on my neck and he sighed with satisfaction "You just smell so damn good"
I intertwined his hands on mine "Oh really?" And he nodded "Maybe I should use that pine soap more often"
"Daehyun! Who just ca-" My mom paused when she saw us. She immediately put on a big smile "Well if it isn't my favorite son"
I chuckled "Mom I'm your only son" Chanyeol detached from me and my mom hurried to give me a hug.
"Oh I know but I love you so much your still my favorite" She let go and Chanyeol quickly held my hand "I suspect my grandchildren are in the living room goofing around with their grandpa"
I nodded and her eyes sparkled at the two of us together "Ahh young love, I remember when me and your father were like you two"
She then squeezed Chanyeol's cheek "Such a sweet handsome young man you are, it feels so good to brag about you being my son in law"
Chanyeol blushed from my mother's comments "Well you two don't just stand there, I know you must be hungry come help me and these old bones carry the snack to the family room"
We followed her to the kitchen and as she ordered Chanyeol to get the Christmas mugs for the hot chocolate I spoke "Hey mom?"
She hummed in response "Yes what is it dear?" I opened the fridge "Where are the pickled radishes"
"They're on the middle shlef in a clear container" She said in a busy voice. I spotted the round container and silently cheered.
I don't know why but I really want some pickled radishes and I am dieing for some cucumbers.
"Do you have cucumbers too?" I asked and she hummed again "They're in the vegetable drawer, why?"
I shrugged my shoulders "I have a taste for them right about now" I said as I grabbed another container with sliced cucumbers in it.
My mom and Chanyeol stopped putting things on the tray and turned to me "But honey you hate cucumbers" she looked at me with confusion.
I just shrugged my shoulders "Doesn't matter to me, the stomach wants what the stomach wants"
My mom carefully examined me before slowly nodding "Well okay then, let's get going before the hot chocolate gets cold"
I grabbed the tray with christmas themed mugs and a pot filled hot choclate. On the side was a big bag of marshmallows and a pitcher for milk.
We made our way into the room to see my dad and Daehyun trying to put up the Christmas tree while the twins sat on the floor playing with the ornaments.
I sat the tray on the coffee table and kneeled down beside the twins. Before clearing my throat "The snacks are ready"
My dad made a big huff plopping down on the couch "I think I'm getting a bit too old for christmas"
Everyone laughed and as Daehyun finished putting the top layer of the tree on he rebuttled "Last time I checked you were the one asking for presents"
My dad waved him off "You kids don't understand the struggle of decorating, I have a whole house to decorate with lights"
Mom hit him on the arm "Well instead of complaining why don't you ask them to help you out up the lights"
I sat back and watched as the two bickered. Chanyeol was on the couch sipping a cup of hot chocolate while the twins were downing the cookies. But Daehyun, he was staring at me.
I gave him a puzzled look and he shook his head "Sorry for staring, it's just I never thought I'd see you eating cucmbers " He pointed to the container of sliced cucumbers I was eating out of.
"What? I can't eat cucumbers or something?" I scoffed and he rejected my answer "No, it's just that you hate cucumbers"
"Okay I get that but it doesn't hurt to try right?" I ate another one and that made my mom and dad laugh.
"When your mother was pregnant, if she so much as smelled cucumbers she'd puke everywhere" My dad spoke up and Daehyun continued "When we were in elementary one time at lunch you cried because the teacher forced you to eat the cucumbers left on your plate"
I grimaced at the memory Ms. Han hated leftover food. It's like she had an obsession with unfinished meals.
"I was like 5, no one liked vegetables when they were 5" I tried to justify but even Chanyeol jumped in.
"You didn't kiss me for a month because my mom put cucumbers in my lunch and you claimed I tasted like cucumbers" I put my head down in shame. That was a bit extreme. He even brushed his teeth right in front of me and I still wouldn't kiss him.
"Look I've just been craving it, just like the pickled radishes, it's just something I want don't judge" then my mother suddenly gasped "Oh my god!"
Everyone looked at her with concerned looks "What? Is something wrong? Do you need to lay down?"
She denied my offer and smiled "No no, just got a little excited" and I raised an eyebrow "Over What? is me eating cucumbers that big of a deal?"
She squealed a bit "Nothing dear, let's hurry and get to decorating the tree before the twins get a tummy ache from all those cookies"
Dad stood from the sofa putting down his mug. He stretched and cracked his back a little. "All right gentlemen, let's get these Christmas lights up"
Chanyeol grunted as he got up from the couch and kissed my cheek before following my dad outside. Daehyun did the same bidding is goodbye before following the two.
"Lets pray your father actually does them right this time with no possible power outages" My mom joked and I chuckled "I don't know, with those two out there with him they might end up powering down the whole neighborhood"
She and I laughed together for while reminiscing I'm Christmas memories before we focused on the tree.
The twins were overly excited to decorate the tree. It wasn't their first time but Christmas was something they were immediately attracted to.
Every ornament they placed they cheered as if something was won. They took turns carefully picking the silver and gold ornaments as their grandma told them where to place them.
Then they noticed some special ornaments. There were a few left and in the mix there were memory ornaments that my mother got custom made everytime.
They picked up a gold ornament with glitter and in white it had my mothers name on it with a date. They looked to my mom asked her what it meant.
She made a sweet smile as she thought of an answer "This is the first ornament I got made" She told them "Your grandfather had left for the army"
"And your mother at the time was a little bitty baby" She squinched her fingers together "It was out first Christmas with your mother and for your grandfather not to be there was hearbeaking"
"So I had gotten this little ornament made to mail him for Christmas" She held it in her hand "See the secret is you can open it" She whispered as if telling a secret.
The ornament unscrewed and she pulled out a letter along with a picture. The twins looked in astonishment "What does the letter say!!!" They asked in anticipation. My mother calmed them down "I'll save it for when you're older" She directed them to put it on the tree.
They pouted but my mother scuffled to get another one. She held in her hand a glass ornament with glitter on the top. Inside was like a snow globe with a picture.
"Would you like to know about this one?" She asked and the twins immediately brightened up again. She handed it to me giving me knowing eyes "I think your mother should tell this one"
I looked at the ornament and realized it was the one I made for our first Christmas together. The little picture inside was of me and Chanyeol.
I was sitting laughing while Chanyeol caressed my pregnant stomach. I sighed lightly smiling at the silly memory.
"Me and your father were deeply in love" I started "Even though we were young and not everyone approved of our relationship we just couldn't be seperated"
"You two were in my stomach at the time and I didn't even know there were two of you" I revealed.
"I couldn't wait to celebrate my first Christmas with your father and his family" I exclaimed "I was so nervous about impressing his family and I forgot to get your father a present"
*flashback*
"What am I gonna do!?" I stressed "Christmas is tomorrow and I haven't gotten anything for Chanyeol"
Kyungsoo rolled his eyes "Why are you even stressing over this? Your pregnant isn't that a present enough?" Luhan nodded his head "We are literally in a waiting room on Christmas eve because one of your appointments just had to be the day before chrjstmas"
"Sehun and I could be fucking right now but we're here with you because your boyfriend has 'practice' why get someone pregnant when you're still a fucking trainee" Luhan ranted but Kyungsoo interrupted "I swear all you guys do is fuck, why not have an actual relationship"
That caused Luhan to rebuttle "Actually we are very much a couple, I'll have you know my spot is sealed as the wife of the future CEO of Park enterprises" he fantasized.
Kyungsoo scoffed and ignored Luhan's dreamy state "The point is Baekhyun, he should be grateful with whatever you give him, you're practically giving up your youth by having his baby"
I nodded smiling down at my baby bump "I know one thing, this baby sure loves to kick"
We sat and laughed and finally we were called to the back. We entered a white room with an exam chair and machines.
Luhan and Kyungsoo helped me up on the chair before sitting down. Dr. Yixing came in with his usual calm presence. His stethoscope had a Santa plushie on it while his pen was now shaped like a candy cane.
"Happy Holidays Mr. Byun" he lightly greeted before turning to my friends "It's nice to see you two again as well"
"Have you been feeling fine? Any pain or sudden sickness?" I shook my head and laughed a little "Everything's fine, just feels like theirs a soccer game going on in there" I rubbed my stomach to sooth the kicks.
He flashed a smile "Yes well as long as you're not too comfortable you should be fine"
I automatically lifted up my short knowing what was coming next. He lightly put the gel on my stomach before examining my stomach with the wand.
I could hear the baby's heartbeat as I waited for him to announce the gender but then I saw him look closely to the screen as if he was trying to make sure he wasn't seeing things.
"I-is there something wrong?" I asked nervously praying to God nothing bad happened.
He quickly denied my question his unsure face turning into a small smile "I can't believe I didn't notice" he turned to me "Congratualitions Mr. Byun you're having twins!"
My eyes widened taken aback by what he said "T-twins!? Are they identical?"
"No they're fraternal, ones a boy and the other is a girl" A squeal came from Luhan "Twice the baby, twice as much clothes!!!"
"What's up with you and baby clothes, honestly just have your own kid" Kyungsoo complained. Luhan gave him a strong glare then looked to me "I'm not gonna argue in here, we'll be in the car okay Baek?"
I silently nodded before turning back to the doctor, he made a deep chuckle "You have quite the the friends, ebeehrime I see them they're so.....energetic" I just gave him a smile "They've been like that since I was little, it'll never change"
I heard him clicking on the keyboard a few times "How many pictures?" I thought for a while and then answered "8 please"
"Alrighty then" he sighed as he looked at his keyboard "Your medicine will stay the same only this time a higher dosage for the twins, they'll give you the prescription along with your pictures in the front"
His eyes then looked at me "Please do try to take it easy, that's what the father is for put him to work" He joked "Again I just want to say congratulations, tell Mr.Park I said hello"
"Thank you doctor I will" I said as I slowly got off the chair. I saddled out of the door with a bright smile on my face. I'm having twins!! Chanyeol will be so happy!!
*end of flashback*
"- And that's when I knew you guys were the best Christmas present ever" I squeezed Chelsea's cheek and ruffled Taehyungs hair "Your father was so happy I was having you two, he talked to you everyday and you'd kick at the sound of his voice"
Chanyeol was a total goofball when it came to the kids. He'd sit there and have full conversations with my belly. We were so happy when I was pregnant. I wish I could relive those moments.
The twins yawned as they curled up next to me on the couch. I saw my mother smiling at me "What?"
She shook her head chuckling a bit "I think I might know why you're eating cucumbers" I raised my eyebrows "And what might that be?"
She squealed clapping her hands "You're pregnant!!!!"
