*Niall's POV*

I ran a hand through my hair for the umpteenth time and sighed. When was she going to be back already? I sighed and kept pacing the floor of her hotel room. Left then right then back to the left, stop to run a hand through the hair, sigh, and then return to the right side and repeat. That was my routine and has been for the past tenish minutes. The sooner she was back in her hotel and away from that monster, the happier I would be.

"So I'll call you tomorrow when I wake up?" I heard her voice from just outside of the room. My head snapped to look at the mahogany door as if I would see through it and watch what was going down. I crept over to it and looked through the peephole. Still couldn't really see because of the weird curve to the glass.

"I'll give you a good morning text when I wake up which will probably be before you wake up just because you're a lazy person." I heard her giggle before I heard a hitting noise. "Just kidding. I'll talk to you tomorrow, beautiful."

"Ok." I heard her say before I heard a kissing noise. "Bye." She whispered and I could faintly hear him return it.

My breaths were long and loud and I quickly opened the door fuming. Alyssa looked up at me but didn't even jump. "What the hell was that?!" I asked.

She rolled her eyes and walked past me into the room. "Well, hello to you, too, Ni." She said taking off her jacket and placing it around the chair at the desk.

"Where have you been?!" I slammed the door shut and crossed my arms.

"Sorry, dad. I was just out with Corbin." She rolled her eyes and I was getting more pissed off by the second.

"You are never seeing him again." I spoke shortly but sternly.

"Seriously, just because my father is in Indiana doesn't mean you can act like him in California."

I bit my tongue and ran a hand through my hair again. I was meant to protect her, but she is not making this easy on me in the least possible way. She was walking right into the monster's mouth and it was only a matter of time before his jaw snapped shut and I was right back where I started just because I couldn't save one fucking girl. It shouldn't be this hard, but it is. Why is she so stubborn? Maybe if I told her everything - the truth - then maybe she would understand the importance of everything. I couldn't tell her though, it was part of the deal. I was to protect her while leaving her in the dark and make sure she doesn't get hurt. All I could do was tell her to stay away from him and I couldn't tell her why. She wouldn't believe me if I told her the truth, anyways. I wouldn't even know where to start.

"Niall?" She called taking me out of my thinking.

"What?"

"You were just kind of like... zoned out."

"Oh. Sorry. What were we talking about?"

"Me being out with Corbin?"

"Oh yeah. Just stay away from him. Okay? I need you to. I can't tell you why, but you just have to stay away from him."

She crossed her arms and propped her nose in the air. Oh boy. Here comes her rejection and independency. "I'm not staying away from my boyfriend."

My face fell and my heart sunk. "Your what?"

She kept her nose in the air. "You heard me."

Yup. I'm dead. I'm going back to where I came from and he will have my ass for this. I had to come up with some way to fix this before anyone important were to find out about it.

"Alyssa." I spoke very slowly trying to remain calm. "You don't know him. He's not the man you think he is." Then again, neither am I; but at least I'm on the good side.

"Don't I? I know him better than you do." She spat.

I inhaled deeply and then slowly let it out trying to stop myself from lashing out and going crazy. "No. No you don't. You haven't seen the real him. I have." I was talking just above a whisper now and I was still talking in my slow but deep tone.

"No! Don't try and feed me that shit!" She yelled obviously growing impatient.

"Please stop yelling." I said smoothly.

"No!" She yelled just as loud as before. "You cannot wait up for me in my hotel room- I don't even know how you got in here- and then start to tell me that I don't know my own boyfriend!"

"Alyssa."

"No! Don't 'Alyssa' me! I'm tired of you trying to control who I hang out with and who I'm allowed to be with or not! Especially after that thing in the changing room that happened only hours ago!"

"I already apologized for that." I grumbled balling my fists at my sides but keeping my voice down.

"Why did you kiss me?" She asked a little quieter and leaning against the chair, shifting all of her weight to one leg. I blew out a puff of air and looked away from her and to the perfectly made bed. "Niall. Answer me." She said through her teeth.

I looked back up at her and threw one of my hands out to the side. "I don't know." I shrugged talking a little louder. "I really don't. I know I shouldn't have, I know I could get in trouble for it, but I did it anyways. Maybe it was a heat of the moment thing, maybe it was just because the opportunity was there- I don't know! But just remember that, yes, I did kiss you first, but you kissed back."

"I know I did! And damn it, I'd be lying if I said I didn't like it!"

My eyes widened as I was taken back by this. "What?"

She crossed her arms over her chest looking away. "Nothing."

I shook my head and placed both of my hands on my head looking down at the crème colored carpet under my feet. I liked the kiss as well, loved it actually. The minute I found that she left with Corbin, I couldn't stop thinking about it. That couldn't mean that maybe I was developing feelings for her, though. I don't do relationships and I already told Alyssa that. I told her that the only way I get involved with girls in through one night stands with no strings attached. I've even tried friends with benefits before, but I still didn't like the idea of a girl keeping in contact with me and staying attached to me after a meaningless one night stand. I'm not capable of loving anybody and I'm not capable of being loved by anybody. I've never cared about love in the first place. I've been like that since I ran away at the age of 16. I didn't need anybody and nobody needed me. I lived my own life and the only people I interacted with was the boys, bartenders, and random good looking sluts that attached themselves to me.

I saw out of the corner of my eye as Alyssa finally moved and walked past me. I became too numb and frozen from my own memories that suddenly flooded through my mind and blinded me from the present to even fully acknowledge the fact that the door faintly made a click noise behind me.

I heard a crash and I jumped finally feeling myself wake from my painful reminiscing only to feel a slight pain in my fist. I looked down and saw a lamp on the ground in minuscule pieces and a few scratches on my knuckles. I bit my lip ignoring the pain and called room service to tell them about the broken lamp and to charge my room for it before ditching the hotel all together.

*

I slammed the tiny glass back down on the table before signaling with my hands to the bartender for another. He shakes his head, probably in disbelief, before grabbing another glass and pouring more of the clear liquid into a tiny glass so it only filled up about a third of the way. I spun it around and around in the tiny glass staring at it trying to focus. It looked like there were three glasses instead of one. I shrugged and tilted my head back dumping its content into my mouth.

"I'll have a shot of tequila." Someone's voice said next to me. I slammed the glass back down on the table looking over at the brunette next to me. I must have caught her attention when I slammed the glass down because she was staring at me.

I smiled at her and she smiled back walking over to me. "Something you're staring at?" She asked twirling a brown lock between her perfectly manicured fingers and leaning over a little bit giving me a direct glimpse down her shirt.

"I do believe you were staring first, love." I smirked moving my eyes from her chest to her face.

"Oh. Someone's a foreigner." She said stepping a little closer to me.

Next thing I remember, we were smashed together and stumbling through my dark hotel room sucking face. She tore her jacket off and threw it somewhere across the room. I fell backwards onto my back on the bed and she leaned back to me placing her lips back onto mine and immediately adding tongue.

"Mm. Alyssa." I said in between our lips.

She stopped kissing me and sat up. "Alyssa?"

Whoops. I hadn't realized I said that. "S- sorry, love." She had told me her name earlier about ten times but I had never cared once about remembering it. I think it was Sara or Sahara or something else along those lines, but I wasn't sure.

She smiled devilishly and leaned back down to start kissing me again, rough and hungerly. Her hands slipped up my stomach and we broke the kiss just long enough for her to dispose of my shirt across the room. Her hands were small and cold. They felt weird. They didn't feel anything like Alyssa's. I remember how her hands felt against my skin when I had slept in her room that one time. They were warm and I remember there being a tingling feel after she had pulled her hands away. I smiled at the memory forgetting that I still had a different girl on my lips. I was too drunk. Drunk from all the alcohol coursing through my blood and on the thought of Alyssa.

"Alyssa." I whispered again.

I heard a scoff and the lips that were on mine disappeared once more. I opened my eyes and grey eyes bore into my scalp. "Why don't you stop making out with me and find that damn Alyssa girl if you can't stop saying her fucking name." The brown haired tool in front of me screamed before turning on her heel and walking out the door.

I stood up and watched her as she picked up her shoes from off the floor and stormed out of the dark hotel room of mine and into the bright hallway. I really couldn't care less. I didn't even care if she had money to get a cab or not. May sound cruel, but it's true.

*Alyssa's POV*

I sighed as I stepped off the elevator and into the hallway for my hotel room. I had just been out for the last few hours to clear my head. I ended up aimlessly walking around the mall, not buying anything besides a drink from Starbucks and a new phone case, but just to walk around and think about everything that has happened tonight. So much has.

First, the Victoria's Secret thing. It's hard to believe that that had just happened today because it felt like it was a week ago. Then, Niall kissing me in my changing room, the fashion show, Corbin asking me to be his girlfriend, and then Niall's and mine argument. I looked down at my phone seeing it was 11:06. The day was almost over.

Someone bumping into my shoulder startling me and making my phone slide out of my hand. I looked up at whoever it was I had just ran into, literally, and I was met by grey eyes on a brunette woman holding a pair of shoes in her hand. She had a scowl pressed across her face and she looked across the hallway seeing where my phone sat. "S- sorry." She quickly dashed across the hallway and retrieved my phone for me looking at the back of my new phone case which I had personalized while I was at the mall to say my name.

She stared at it confused and held it out to me with her eyes knitted together. "Thank you." I told her.

"You're Alyssa." She said quietly letting go of my phone as I grabbed it.

I looked at the back of my phone case in confusion not seeing what she was getting at. "Yeah. My name is Alyssa."

She shook her head. "I- I'm sorry." She held her hand up to her head and started walking away. I stared after her in confusion before shrugging my shoulders and heading back to my hotel room. "Alyssa!" I heard her call from behind me.

I turned around and stared at her. "Yeah?"

"He really cares for you." She smiled.

I raised an eyebrow at her. Who was she talking about? "Yeah. I know." I smiled back to her agreeing even though I didn't have a clue what she was talking about.

"My name's Sierra, by the way." She smiled as the elevator dinged in front of her before opening.

"Nice to meet you. See you around?" I asked.

Sierra smiled and nodded her head. "Yeah." Was the last thing she said before climbing onto the elevator and disappearing as the doors shut behind her.

That was weird. I shrugged it off and unlocked my door and actually was surprised to find my room empty and not having a certain blonde haired Irishman waiting on me as usual.

Oh yeah. He's pissed at me just like I am towards him.

I sighed and stumbled out to the balcony wanting fresh air after being stuck on a bus for the last half an hour. I leaned against the wooden rail and took a deep breath in through the nose getting a mixture of different smells. Gas was one of the smells, but it smelled good to me for some reason. I'm not really sure why, but the smell of fuel has always smelled good to me. It clears my sinuses, that's for sure. Maybe I like the smell just because it's different. It's just a different smells among others. Every other good smell that is meant to smell good and smells how it does for a reason. They are purposefully made to smell how they do, but sometimes it's too much and doesn't smell good at all. Gasoline wasn't intended to have a nice smell, but it somehow does. It's a gross and ugly color, but I somehow find the smell addicting for some reason.

I shook my head finding it silly to be thinking about why I love the smell of gas so much and pulled out my phone. I watched as the time clicked from 11:10 to 11:11. I sighed and looked up to the sky. You could actually see a few stars peeping out tonight and I knew they weren't airplanes because there were too many and they were too close together. I couldn't even really see them all too well, but they were there, just faint.

I giggled to myself not believing I was about to really do this considering I haven't done this since seventh grade when I gave up on believing in such silly things like making 11:11 wishes.

"I wish I could just go back to being happy all the time." I whispered up to the starry sky, more importantly, wishing that they could hear and respond to my calling anyways.
