A/N: this chapter will contain two parts, because I wanted to give Y/N a chance to bond with some classmates who have been in similar situations to her. Part 2 will be posted tomorrow cuz it's not quite done yet.

Part 1

It had been two days since Flicker had almost taken me, and I still couldn't sleep. When I did, it was nightmare filled and quite frankly crappy. I checked my phone for the time, which read 2am. I groaned and got up from bed, put my slippers and a coat on, and made my way out of my room.

The hallway stayed lit throughout the night, but I couldn't help but think it was a little dimmer than usual. I glanced to my right at the now fixed window I had fallen out of and shivered, then turned to my left and made my way to the elevator.

This is stupid. I thought as I pushed the up button. Why am I going up here? It's not like its going to help... well, maybe I can clear my head a little, calm down... I don't want to wake up Ei, I did that last night, he needs to sleep. Everyone does...

The ding that signified that I had arrived at the roof broke me from my thoughts, and the doors opened with a rush of cold air that sent a shiver down my spine. I snuggled into my puffy jacket more and shuffled towards the railing on the opposite side of the roof.

The concrete was cold as I laid my hands on it, and I looked out over the campus and the lights that lit the paths to our school building, then turned my gaze to the stars. The stars always calmed me, they made me feel like my problems were so small on the grand scale.

"Can't sleep?" A gruff voice asked from behind me, and I whipped around. Spiky blonde hair came into focus as he stepped closer, draped in his comforter.

"Bakugou?" I squinted. Asking his name seemed silly, I knew it was him.

"Of course, dumbass." he replied, but the usual bite to his voice wasn't there. He came to stand beside me and looked up at the stars with me. It was about a minute before he asked

"You gonna answer me or not?" but it sounded more like a statement than a question.

"Uh- no, I couldn't sleep... nightmares." I responded to his question.

His gaze snapped to mine before he turned it out to the campus lights. It was another minute before he grumbled

"Me too."

He's letting me in again. We've actually been through a lot of similar stuff haven't we. I thought.

I mulled over whether or not I should ask him before I just did

"About the LOV?"

His crimson eyes, so much like the ones that belonged to the man I loved, snapped to me, only these eyes were full of hurt and anger and... sadness?

I averted my gaze and looked back out over the lights, regretting that I had asked him and made him mad.

"No. Well, not tonight." he finally said, and I looked back at him, confused. This time I waited for him to continue on his own instead of prodding.

".... Before UA, there was an attack by this...sludge villain.... Fuckin bastard captured me and held me hostage. Covered my mouth, my hands, I couldn't use my quirk, I couldn't fight back, I couldn't breathe-" he was trembling, even under his comforter.

Without thinking I brought a hand up to touch his shoulder gently, just telling him I was there. He flinched slightly at my touch, but then his eyes locked with mine and it seemed like he remembered it wasn't happening to him in this moment. I watched the fear leave his crimson eyes, replaced by something softer, just for a split second. Then it was back to his normal scowl, but he didn't move away from my hand, so I kept it there.

That must've been so scary for him. I thought, but I didn't say it aloud. That probably would've elicited an angry response. Instead, I just looked back up at the stars, my hand on his shoulder, his trembling slowly receding.

"Were yours about what just happened?" he asked after a long silence.

"...yeah... and the first time she broke in... and the nomu... and..." I trailed off.

"And?" he asked expectantly.

"And... when I was little, my dad and I were held captive by a villain with a spider quirk... we almost died." It was the quick and dirty of the whole story, but I didn't want to share more at that moment.

"Damn, sounds a lot like one of the guys your hag was with the other night..." he said. "They got him too though."

I only nodded in response, not taking my eyes off the constellations above us. Some more silence passed between us before he almost whispered

"We're pretty similar huh."

I huffed, smiling up at the sky.

"Yeah."

His shoulder shivered again, but this time it was quick and punctuated with him turning on his heel, his shoulder disconnecting from my hand.

"Cmon. 'Sfuckin cold out here." He grumbled, making his way back towards the elevator in his duvet cover, and I fought a smile and followed.
