With your feet giving the mare a slight signal to turn around, you grinned at Levi.

"Idiot. I'll say it a last time.", he growled deeply.

You used the reins to start, at which the horse suddenly dashed forward. Laughing, you stole a glance back to see Levi's angry expression.
"You'd have to catch me, if you want your horse back!"

With every movement of the horse, you sensed the freedom inside of you growing. You could feel her fatigue, mixed with all the energy residing within her vigorous pushes. Her breath was quick and so was yours.

After a while you looked over your shoulder and you breath almost faltered. Levi was rushing at the two of you with the speed of wind. His black stallion galloped quicker than any other horse you had ever seen.

Softly you pet the crest of yours.
"Hey little one, come, just a little faster."

Thereupon you felt your horses muscles stretching and moving more rapidly, so you adjusted to them. With a confident smile, the both of you dashed forward even faster and Levi behind you tried to catch up.

"When I catch you, I'll kill your idiotic ass!", he yelled behind you.

Then I won't let you catch me, you thought and grinned.
Wind was wildly blowing through your hair, hitting your face mercilessly.
With the mesmerising flowers' scent reaching your nostrils, your eyes were allowed to admire this same beauty.

The more you neared the city, the closer Levi got. No matter how hard you tried, his horse was faster and yours simply couldn't keep up.
"Sorry, pretty.", you told her calmly.
"Maybe next time, if we're not dead.", you gulped.
"-I'm not dead.", I corrected yourself.

Levi was a minimal vicinity behind you and already started catching up faster and faster.
When he was right beside you, you gave him a nervous grin.
"Hey."

His completely serious expression already jammed daggers into you, causing shivers to run down your spine.

Levi with a deep, threatening tone:
"Stop and go down. Now."

You had already reached the city, so you stopped, feeling your body wanting to petrify.
Then you slowly went down, without him doing so.
After your feet connected with the ground, you walked over to stand directly in front of him, at which you couldn't help but smile a little.
"What if I told you, that I didn't understand the rules?", you looked up.

His angry expression vexed even further, the clutch around his reins tight.
"You stupid, mindless, unsubmitting, useless, fucking idiot...", he yelled, swinging himself down.
"I told you to hold on and what do you do? Continue sprinting as if it was funny."

You looked down and held back another smile.
"Sorry."

"Sorry?! What if there was a titan somewhere out there? Or if your clumsy ass just fell down from the saddle?!", his widened eyes locked with yours.

Was he worried?

No, he seemed rather angry.
"Why did you do that?"

Your body stiffeners and you squinted your eyes. When opening them again, you saw his furious expression.
"It's because-", you paused and gritted your teeth tightly.

What should you respond to that?
'I wanted to disobey you to prove a point?'

Levi looked at you in expectancy, waiting for an explanation.

"I-It's because-", you hesitated.
His gaze was intense and it bluntly penetrated you.
"Ugh, you wouldn't get it.", you quickly brushed it off.

Annoyed, he ordered:
"Get on your horse. We're going back."

"But wait!", you grabbed his wrist.
"We're almost there!"

Levi pissed:
"Shut up and get on the horse."

"Please Levi, it's not far away!"

Levi confused:
"Huh?"

"After this city, there's my mom's village. I only want to meet her once, nothing more. Please.", pleadingly you looked into his grey eyes.
"I haven't seen her in a long time."

Levi still looked at you in mild disbelief, but now it was as if he actually looked through you.
"Mother?", he whispered as a question.

"Yes.", you whispered back, still holding onto his wrist, because he didn't remove your hand.
"Levi? Are you alright?"

He switched back immediately and his eyes gained back their coldness.
Then he quickly freed from your hand and got on his horse.
You hesitated and asked him for a permission with a last look.

His icy eyes rejected you and slowly and disappointed, you climbed the horse.

"Where is the village?", he asked in monotony, at which you lifted your head, your eyes sparkling with joy.
