With another salute you thanked him, trying to hide your entangling excitement. You simply weren't used to so much praise.
In your thoughts:
Wow, Erwin really is the opposite of Levi. He's warm, friendly and is always in a good mood. Or at least thinks positive, when looking at others.
Passing your room, you took the lead to Eren's.
Did Levi really say all these nice things about me? Did he actually think I was good?
Instantly you hindered yourself to think of the raven.
It doesn't matter. I don't have a crush on him, you frowned resolutely turned your attention to what laid before you.
He's just my Captain and I'm one of those many recruits he's responsible for.
But for some reason you begun feeling terrible.
Get a grip of yourself, (Y/N).
After knocking three times, you heard a voice calling you in, at which you grinned brightly. Being greeted by Mikasa, Armin and Eren, you joined them.

Later, a few hours before the sun set, you went to the stables and pet your horse.
"Shh."
You fed her the veggies you had hid and kept over the afternoon and gave them to her now.
Then you elegantly hopped on.
Just when you wanted to start, there was a a familiar voice behind you.
Levi:
"Oi, where are you going to?"
You turned your head in surprise.
"To a city..."
Levi monotonically:
"You can't leave like that. It's against the rules."
You annoyed:
"I'm going to be fine-"
Levi emotionless:
"It's not about you, but about the horse. It's property of the Survey Corps. Stolen horses aren't easily replaced."
You offended:
"I definitely wouldn't steal a horse. I'm not a thief."
Levi, eyeing you unimpressed:
"I doubt that."
Does he even-?, you asked yourself, your face revealing mild surprise.
Levi unimpressed:
"Do you think anybody can hide anything from me?"
"Yes-"
He raised an eyebrow and sighed.
"Now get down there and go to bed."
Dwelling in disappointment, your look traced over the horizon and the way emblazoned on the field.
What if you just-?
No-
No.
But.
In factuality you didn't care what Levi thought of you or how he behaved with you. His opinion didn't mean more than Erwin's or Hange's.
Mischievously you glimpsed over to him.
"Come on, brat.", he frowned annoyed, before he took a closer look at you.
"No."
You didn't care, because you had no feelings for him and so you didn't have to provide him with any special attention. This was the proof.
"Yes.", you responded slyly.
Levi furrowed his brows at you and threatened:
"Idiot, don't you dare."
