"So, let me be straight here with you. You're a girl and probably won't be as strong as a grown man standing in front of you."
I really didn't like his words, but he had already proven to my little ass how much he knew, so I nodded slowly, still hating the thought.
"That's why you need to feel your enemy. Let me show you how.", my father whispered.
You're grown; located on the military grounds
"(Y/N)! (Y/N)!"
"Huh, yea?"
"You were like in a trance or something", the tall boy toward me laughed.
"Yes, I'm sorry, just a little absent."
"Haha, please, don't make it too easy for me then. You know, we always need to be fully concentrated when training and-"
"Cadet Klett, why aren't you training?", a rough, loud voice behind us shouted.
"I'm sorry sir, I was just explaining to cadet (L/N) the importance of concentration-"
"I don't care, stop talking and start fighting."
Commander Shadis stood beside both of us, watching every move we made. Or didn't. None of us was moving.
I saw the nervousness in Klett's face. But I looked right through him. He was the prey now - and became it so easily, which made me the hunter.
Klett was now moving fast, trying to pretend-attack. I guessed he was more of a defender-person, so I did the same but even faster.
I put one foot before me, keeping my gravitational point in my very middle. Like a dance, I did it three times and had to realise how incredibly fast he was out of breath. His defences were nothing special and I easily pressed forward, using my fist to strike his abdomen and going a step to the side, because he would try to use his left fist on my back.
He did as I predicted and failed, which opened his left shoulder for my next attack.
While grabbing his right arm, I used my left arm to get behind him and so I stumbled him with my foot.
The boy laid on the ground, both of his arms on his back, me sitting above and having only used two attacks.
'Somehow sad', I thought.
Keith Shadis was watching everything and now I felt bad for Klett. He clearly couldn't fight with all of his potential due to Shadis watching.
But you couldn't allow yourself this kind of disconcentration, as Klett had already remarked in the beginning.
"Not bad.", Shadis uttered silently.
"Never am I going to be defeated by anybody. No matter of their size." I swore to myself.

The next day:
"Little nitwits, listen up!", commander Shadis screamed. "As you know, today is one of the biggest days of your pitiful little lives, so put your asses out of your comfy chairs and become fucking soldiers already!"
Some of the soldiers behind and beside me shrugged.
"I'm so excited. Finally! The tests!", I whispered to Jean beside me.
I could tell, that he was at least as excited as me, but he tried to play it cool. I smiled to myself.
"Yea. Pretty cool.", he said and poked my side.
"You sure you can keep up with me?"
I grinned and gave him a wicked smile. "You try and keep up."
