#145 "Keeping his Treasure...LOVE"

My best friend, Mingyu, asked me a favor before he left our country:

"Wonwoo-yah, when I'm gone, please take care of my girlfriend. When she missed me, tell her I love her. When she think that she is a failure, hug her and say: 'You are perfect'. Can you do it? Huh?"

At first, I thought that it was a simple and idiotic favor since his girlfriend and I were not close enough. Still, I accepted his request, not knowing that it was actually the first step in digging my own grave.

"Yes. I will Mingyu. Come back as soon as possible."

And then, Mingyu left me and his girlfriend with a smile on his face.

My bestfriend is a doctor and he got a privielege to work in Africa, the second largest continent, is bounded by the Mediterranean Sea, the Red Sea, the Indian Ocean, and the Atlantic Ocean. In short, he came to work in a very far place. Because he's working in a part far from city, the connection is slow. Thus, contacting his family, his girlfriend and me will be difficult. That's why, he asked me to take care of his beloved ones.

That's the start of a sinful taboo I will commit and be committed.

"Wonwoo, hi?" you greeted me with a smile.

When Mingyu introduced you to me as his girlfriend, I never saw anything special about you. But when I decided to look out for you, I suddenly realized why Mingyu fell in love on your smile; Smile that was so sweet, warm and made my heart beats a thousands...no! A million times rather!

"Wonwoo, I missed Mingyu so much. Do you think he missed me too?" You sobbed, after dashing in front of me with those teary eyes. Damn.

I leaned closer, cupped your face and said: "Mingyu, he loves you so much. He missed you and he cherished you."

That time, a part of my mind asked myself: "What about you Wonwoo? Do you love her too?"

When you got fired on your job, you sulked in the corner as you blaimed yourself: "I'm such a failure!"

And so... just like what my bestfriend said, I hugged you with all of my might, whispering the words: "(y/n), you are perfect."

For the past 3 years of caring you, my bestfriend's girlfriend, I made a secret fight on my own. A fight for my loyalty, a fight for a strong emotions that must vanish.

However, I failed.

Whenever I saw you, I kept of praying that Mingyu shouldn't come back anymore. Because if he'll come back, He will hear the most sinful words from me.

My wish didn't happen.

Because today, Mingyu finally came back.

"Wonwoo, how's (y/n)?" he asked.

I looked at him, clenching my hands. And then, I finally said these sinful words: "Mingyu, I fell in love with (y/n). I love your girlfriend."
