None of you dared to say anything and Levi wasn't sure what to return to your statements either.
His eyes solely wandered down the bed to your free hand laying on the mattress, before he slowly let his own glide down to yours. Blindly he placed his palm over yours, while still looking you in the eyes.
You dwelled after his action, whereupon you gently let your fingers intertwine. He watched you silently, as your body moved closer to his in order to close the distance between the both of you.
With your head against his warm chest and his heart beat fastening, you didn't let go of his hand.
Levi stared at you, as his motions stopped and he remained completely still.
Your other arm wrapped around his upper body, before it lifted to be placed on his hair. You gently ran your fingers through the longer strands, before they reached the short ones.
Levi's senses serenely managed to calm down, the feeling of familiarity so cozy and and yet so weird.
After while, he opened his eyes without you showing the intend to halter or stop with stroking him.
"My mother used to cut my hair like this.", Levi suddenly spoke.
"That's why I keep it like that."
This was one statement and neither his tone of voice, nor his mimics indicated any difference to his usual sentences. But your face nonetheless brightened at the words and you felt your inquisitiveness arising.
What kind of woman was his mother? What had Levi done after she disappeared? And how did Levi get out of the underground at all?
So many questions and yet you decided not to speak up, because you didn't want force him to remember.
The way his relaxed stance positioned on the mattress caused you no not be able to restrain yourself from scanning him carefully again. It didn't take long for him to notice and steal a glimpse at you, before he realised what you thought of.
"Kuchel, my mother.", Levi begun.
"She was loving and caring."
Your bright eyes turned up to look at him, at which he couldn't help himself. His expression softened and he smiled minimally at the realisation of how much you reminded him of her.
Loving and caring, indeed.
Warm, trusting and ready to help, always.
Your heart beat fastened, as he looked at you.
"Levi.", you whispered, but also silenced. No more questions resided in your mind, so you felt yourself grinning at him with warm cheeks.
His fingers slid down your bare back with just the tiniest of contact, but it still felt as if a cold shiver traced down your spine. While doing it, he watched you carefully to see how you'd react.
When you smiled in response, he continued quietly, proceeding to please you with his fingers tracing small forms and figures underneath your shirt.
"Hello! Good morning!", there was a sudden screeching in front of the door, before it got slammed open. Immediately you parted from Levi wide-eyed and opened your mouth for a grasp of air.
Hange contently:
"Helloooo love-birds!"
You heard Levi silently growling beside you, annoyance in his tone.
"Four eyes."
Hange muted for a second, whereafter she rapidly begun jabbering again.
"Oh sorry, if I knew you were so close, I wouldn't have stormed in like that.", she nervously apologised.
"Heheheh, but I really hoped you'd end up like this.", she maliciously said, before placing both hands on her hips.
"So it worked, how did you like my present, (Y/N)?"
