-Chapter One Hundred and Thirty-Six-

"He was apologizing, probably not the best time to kill a man" Luffy calmly said as he watched how the little girl dropped to her knees and buried her face in her hands—already starting to cry as sobs racked her small frame.

"Geez, what in the world is going on up there?" Nami frowned when the snake's stomach suddenly started to shake once again, spreading us all further apart from one another. "If this keeps up any longer, I don't know if we'd be able to make it out of here" she huffed.

"Luffy, hold still!" I ordered as I attempted to help the rubber man who continued to loudly complain, his body now squirming around as he seemed to have ended up getting his head stuck between two rocks after that last rumble. Grabbing at his shoulders, I attempted to pull him out only to have his neck stretch each time instead as his head would stay firmly in place.

"I guess we attempt our escape now" Gan Fall suggested.

"Luffy! I said hold still!" I snapped, before falling back onto my bottom the second the snake's stomach shook once again which this time allowed the rubber man's head to pop free from between the rocks. They must have shifted just enough for his head to squeeze on through with that last rumble. "Finally..." I groaned.

"Thanks for the help, Skylar" the captain joyfully laughed, happy to be free as he shook his head while I dismissively waved.

"Right, yeah—it's now or never" Nami nodded, agreeing with the Sky Knight's decision to leave.

"Yeah, I'm ready to get out of here now" I agreed, dusting my clothes off as I stood up. "I think we've been in here long enough."

"Luffy, Skylar, get over here and grab hold of the waver—I'm going to finally get us out of this snake" Nami motioned, climbing aboard her Sky Waver as Luffy picked up Aisa.

"Right—hey, you hang onto me" Luffy instructed, holding the child close as we stepped into the waver right behind Nami. Gently resting my hands on the ginger's waist, Luffy followed suit and wrapped one arm around my own while the other kept a tight hold on Aisa. "Ready! Start the engine!" he ordered once we were all on.

"Here we go!" Nami revved up the engine as she prepared to take off.

"Yeah! Can't wait to get out!" Luffy grinned before yelping when his body suddenly fell back and off of the waver the minute Nami shot forward. His grip on my waist instantly disappearing as he and Aisa fell off.

"Man overboard! We can't leave them!" Gan Fall called out to us.

"Nami, stop the waver!" I shouted over the revving of the waver, only to be ignored as we shot past Gan Fall as if the ginger was determined to get out of this snake without any hiccups.

"Pierre, go back! You have to save those two!" Gan Fall ordered as Nami and I continued to travel further up the length of the snake's body, most likely reaching its throat by this point.

"Nami! We need to go back!" I frantically shouted the minute I realized that the navigator had no plans of stopping or turning around.

"We can't! They'll be alright—Gan Fall will get them!" she finally shouted back just as we burst out of the snake's mouth and quickly started to plummet toward the ground. Immediately did I wrap my arms fully around her and begin to cling as the two of us started to scream in utter fear upon realizing just how high off the ground we were.

"Calm down! Don't shake the waver!" I fearfully cried as I watched how she frantically began to jerk the waver around midair, making me scared that she'd flip it over—at least inside of it, there was less of a chance we'd break anything.
