dream pushed open the doors he had entered through, shaking off the vest that he wore with heavy shoulders. he left the laser tag venue, none of the staff seemed to want to stop him, presumably because they could feel the heat radiating off of him.

he wanted to leave, he wanted to get out and he no longer wanted to be in the same vicinity of the people in the previous room. he wanted to leave but he knew he couldn't. he had the responsibility of supervising his sister.

as much as he trusted both her and sapnap, it wasn't right for him to pass off his responsibility. a responsibility he tried so hard to earn so he could spend more time with his sister.

instead of leaving, he paced around. thinking. he found himself outside, on a bench where he sat down with a huff. he pressed into the back of the seat, running his hands down his face. allowing his palms to settle against his eyes.

he pressed harder into his face, then he was back home. running through the high canopy trees. the world blurring around him, wind ruffling the fabric of the shirt that pressed to his warm skin.

a branch snapped, he spun. turing around to face the brunette, blocky glasses sat on his nose. he knew who it was, aside from build, he could feel it in his heart.

"hey."

he opened his eyes, head snapping in the direction of the voice.

"better luck next time blondie, your team still lost by two points."

he kept his eyes trained on the man with wide apart shoulders. he walked towards the blonde, standing by the empty seat beside him on the bench.

"i feel like i should let you know, only because i wouldn't want someone like you to get led on by little old georgie." he waved off his friends, staying back to speak with dream. the glass doors opened, revealing sapnap and george watching the interaction from where they stood.

"notice how your little boyfriend can't walk straight? he invited me over to help him finish off his birthday last night." he paused, letting his words settle, knowing the destruction they were causing inside of dream.

"but i'm sure you knew that already, you got my text of course."

him.

he was there the day george had shut him out. he was so worried about the abrupt ending to their conversation and the entire time george was with him?

"by the way, that little hoodie you gave him, it's a dumb gift, he doesn't look good in yellow."

dream watched the man step away from the bench, shrugging as he shot a wink in the direction of george. again dream was on his feet, hands clenched at his sides.

someone held him back.

"dream, don't do it, he's not worth your time." sapnap squeezed his arm, discouraging the blonde for the actions that rose to his mind.

"yeah, dream, listen to your friend, he knows what's best for you."

together they watched him walk away, taking a piece of dream's dignity with him.

"dream."

the voice that rang out behind him sending daggers through his heart.

he walked out from sapnap's grip, turning to face the brunette for the second time.

"no, what the hell george." he inched closer to him.

"we've been hanging out every single day, and you've dropped me for him, twice now. did you know i was panicking when you weren't answering my calls. i was panicking and you were with some guy?"

george stared back up at him with wide eyes, the flustered blush still evident on his face.

"tell me he lied." dream tried not to think back to the text.

i'll make sure he has a good birthday where you can't

where you can't

he was doing things dream didn't have the balls to.

george stared back.

"what's so special about him? because i sure can't seem to figure it out. how does someone like you consider yourself to be friends with an asshole like him."

his mouth opened and closed as if he was forming a response, yet a single word never left his mouth. dream's eyes lingering on george's kissed out lips.

"why'd you do it, the thrill? did it feel nice knowing you ditched your friends to make out with a prick, feet away from us in the middle of a laser tag match? what the fuck george."

he wove his hands in front of himself to express the frustration pent up inside of him. he knew he was angry but he wasn't sure he had the right, nor was george deserving of the harsh words the crept out of the darkness of his mind. it sent him over the edge when george flinched from his hands.

"seriously?" he looked at george, shaking his head unbelieving, lowering his hands from the air between them.

after every precaution dream had taken to make george feel comfortable, the older still had some cryptic idea that dream could ever lay a hand on him.

he let out a breath, pushing past his friends, reentering the venue.

he might've been upset with george, but that didn't mean everyone else had to be aswell.

he ran into quackity and karl who seemed to be keeping his sister entertained.

"are you alright?" his sister asked from in between the two who were just barely taller than her.

he let out a breath. "i can be alright." he nodded.

she nodded back, taking her hair down and reaching her hand out to pass him the bracelet. he gladly pulled it back around his wrist.

"i told you i wouldn't loose it." she shoved her hands into the front pocket of the sweatshirt, turning around to lead the other three around the plaza.

dream's phone vibrated in his pocket.

'i'm taking george home, figured it would be best, i'll come back to get you guys after'

he huffed at the text, everything seemed to change too quickly, he hoped it didn't stay like this.

george got railed LOL mystery guy took "fuck george" too seriously
