Chapter 48: Starting The Game

"We're being watched" stated Killua as he walked towards us.

"Killua!" Said Gon and ran up to him.

"I don't see any nearby towns" he said, looking around.

"Yeah, but everyone's headed in the same direction" said Gon.

"They either went that way or that way" said Killua pointing at the two directions.

"Huh? How did you know?" Asked Gon.

"Because that's where we're being watched from" answered Killua.

"Let's go then" I said standing up.

"Yeah. Regardless of who is watching we should start by gathering information" said Killua and we started walking.

"So, how did it go?" Asked Killua.

"Huh?" Asked Gon.

"Your saved data. Book. How many cards were there?" he asked as he summoned his 'Book'.

"There weren't any cards in it" said Gon.

"Huh? For real?" Asked Killua.

"But there was a message from Ging" said Gon.

"What did it say?" I asked.

"To enjoy the game" said Gon.

"To enjoy the game?" Repeated Killua.

"But this doesn't feel like a game" I said.

"What do you think of the rules?" Asked Gon.

"Hm. I don't really know enough yet" Said Killua.

"Oi something's coming" I said and got ready. Killua and Gon stopped and looked at the thing that was flying towards us. A second later, a man with purple hair landed in front of us.

'Was That Nen?' I thought as I glared at him.

"This must be your first time playing this game" he said smirking.

"I wonder if you're right. Since you're carrying your book that means you're a player" said Killua.

"Well yeah" he said and smiled smugly as us. He then picked up a card and put it in his book and started pressing buttons. We watched him carefully.

"Killua-kun, Gon-kun and Y/N-chan, huh?" He said. We perked up.

"How do you know our names?" Asked Gon.

"How indeed" he laughed. He thought for a moment then smirked.

"Trace on! Attack Killua!" He yelled. The card turned into a yellow light and started following Killua around.

"You can't run away from spells in this game" laughed the man. Killua tried to outrun it but it reached him.

"Killua, you okay?" Asked Gon.

"My attack worked" said the man smiling in victory. Killua turned to look at him. He looked pissed, and by pissed, I mean REALLY pissed. The man sweat dropped.

"What did you do to me?" Stated Killua in a low scary voice. His assassin aura came back. Killua moved his foot and the guy got scared. He took out a card and yelled out.

"Return on! Take me back to Masadora" And with that he flew away.

"Tch" said Killua. We then started walking.

"Killua, do you feel any different?" Asked Gon.

"No. Not really" said Killua and shook his head.
