Chapter 136 Could It Be Thoughts of Remarriage?
On the wide asphalt road, a red convertible cruised leisurely.
Considering that Aylin was wearing thin clothes, David deliberately closed more than half of the car’s sunroof. While steering the wheel, he didn’t forget to remind her.
“Boss, there are your favorite drinks in the car, including pure fruit juice and coffee. There are also. your favorite desserts. If you’re hungry, you can have some first.”
Aylin sat in the back seat, a small table beside her, filled with exquisitely packaged dessert and
coffees.
Upon first glance, it’s clear that this was meticulously prepared.
Her eyebrows raised, “It’s rare to see you so considerate, did you specifically go out to buy this?”
David smiled through the rearview mirror, “I knew that being part of the Delacruz family, you
might have had a tough battle that drained your energy. So, I bought some supplies before picking
you up.”
Listening to David’s description, it seems that the Delacruz family is not a prestigious and
well-respected upper-class family, but rather a den of vicious predators who devour people
without leaving a trace.
Aylin chuckled, “You make the Delacruz family sound like a bandit hideout.”
David slapped the dashboard and steered the car around a corner with one hand, “Boss, you’ve hit
the nail on the head. The Delacruz family is just a bunch of unreasonable bandits! Except for Steve,
who’s a sensible guy, the rest of them are no good, especially a certain man, hmph, he’s simply beyond redemption!”
Every time David thought of Gavyn’s frosty expression, he couldn’t help but grimace.
It’s hard to say why those socialites have ranked him as the most eligible bachelor in New York.
He’s just average, only a bit more handsome than him.
But can a man just rely on being handsome? No! If he doesn’t understand a woman’s heart, and
most importantly, if he doesn’t know how to treat his boss well and cherish her, then she won’t be
impressed!
As he pondered, the thoughts in his heart inadvertently spilled out from his lips.
“Boss, how can this guy have such thick skin? Old Mr. Delacruz is a smart man, but this guy is just shameless! He’s still bothering her even after the divorce. Where was he before? It’s like he only came back after the child died, or like he only learned to turn after crashing into a tree. It’s too
late!”
Aylin couldn’t help but laugh at his words, and glanced up at him, “Your tongue has certainly become sharper.”
“Wherever I am, it’s all thanks to Boss’s great teachings.”
David observed Aylin’s expression without any reaction. Seeing her expression soften, he carefully said, “Hey Boss, what do you think he’s up to? Could it be that he suddenly realized your charm and wants to remarry you?”
“Impossible.”
Without hesitation, not even a second of doubt, Aylin said, “He won’t, and I won’t remarry him
either.”
“Why is he holding onto the Boss like that?” David asked, trying to get some information indirectly.
He certainly hadn’t forgotten the unpleasant expression on Gavyn’s face just now.
He’s the spitting image of a guy who’s just been dumped.
Aylin thought of Gavyn and her expression soured. She said coldly, “He asked some boring questions, and I didn’t bother to answer.”
It seems that the Boss has genuinely given up completely.
The heart that David had mentioned for his brother was finally back in its place. He let out a light cough, unable to hide the smile on his face.
“Serves her right! She’s so terrible, yet she dares to think she can disturb our Boss’s mind. She should take a good look at who our Boss is; there’s no way he would go back to her!”
Aylin opened the paper bag and took out a small piece of cookie to eat slowly. As if remembering something, she looked up with a puzzled expression.
“You remember I didn’t tell you to pick me up.”
David finally saw Aylin and asked her with a playful wink, his handsome yet youthful face looking very lively, “To be honest, Boss, I came here to report my achievements and ask for a reward.”
