Heats happen every month for 3-5 days. Ruts happen every three months for 3-5 days.
Scenting tells everyone else that they are theirs. Scent goes away after a week. Marking means they are permanent mates.
Betas can smell pheromones but they are pretty much normal so they don't usually react.
Female betas only can get pregnant by an alpha or other beta not an omega.
Male and female omegas can get pregnant.
Alphas don't usually match with other alphas.
In my story omegas can make another omega go into heat but alphas can't make another alpha go into rut.
Obviously a Alpha can make an Omega go into heat and an Omega can make a Alpha go into rut.
Also, being in a relationship and being mated are not the same thing.
