Sasuke blinked. Looking up at Itachi confused as he touched his fingers to his stinging cheek. Had Itachi just slapped him?
"Get a hold of yourself. You look like you're about to have a heart attack. Calm down" Itachi explained.
Sasuke gulped. "But you know now...." Sasuke said looking away guiltily.
"Sasuke, I was dying anyways" Itachi stated calmly.
"What!?" Sasuke asked jumping back reeling away from Itachi his eyes widened in shock.
"I was using my Mangekyou far to much. I actually only had a couple weeks left. You did me a favor, Sasuke. I was suffering and you put me out of my misery" Itachi told him.
"I should have known that....I should have known that you would never...how could you just let me hate you!?" Sasuke questioned.
"There's a very thin line between love and hate Sasuke. I let you hate me for the same reason I let you love me. You're my little brother" Itachi told him pulling him in for a hug. Sasuke bit his lip to try and stop himself from crying.
"That's so fucked up" Sasuke said his voice trembling.
"Perhaps it is" Itachi agreed.
"You can...." Sasuke gulped pulling away. "You can hate me now" Sasuke told Itachi. In response the elder Uchiha poked Sasuke in the forehead.
"I will do no such thing Sasuke" Itachi denied.
"But-"
"I could never hate you. Even if you were to go home right now and massacre the entire clan, destroy the village, and start planning world domination. Even if you did any of that or all of it I couldn't hate you" Itachi told him.
"Been there done that ages ago. That's so clichè. Madara beat that destroying the world and the village thing to hell" Sasuke replied trying to hide how much his heart was breaking from the guilt he felt.
"I suppose he did, but my point still stands." Itachi told him.
"Of course it does...your better than me at everything"
"Sasuke don't talk like that" Itachi berated.
"It's true" Sasuke muttered shaking his head.
"I don't have a rinnegan, I don't have your speed, I didn't inherit mother's soft raven hair-"
"And they call me the gay one" Sasuke scowled.
"You've got a girlfriend-"
"What would you call Shisui then?" Sasuke questioned lips quirking.
"I wouldn't call him my girlfriend Sasuke" Itachi glowered.
"I guess that's for the best. Sakura doesn't like sharing" Sasuke replied.
"Hey where are you going?" Sasuke asked with a frown as Itachi started walking back towards town.
"I need to get some nail polish" Itachi told him.
"....."
"Sasuke, don't judge me"
"....."
"Quit looking at me like that"
"...."
"Oh real mature. I know you like birds but seriously? Out of all the hand gestures you know that's the one you pick?"
"Hn"
"Fuck you too then" Itachi replied.
"You're not going transgender are you?" Sasuke asked worriedly that he somehow messed with his brother's head the wrong way.
"Sasuke what is wrong with you?"Itachi questioned.
"Well I was labeled mentally insane for a few years so who knows" Sasuke replied.
"I'm not going transgender" Itachi told him.
"Would've fooled the leaf legion. Long hair, nail polish, jewelry, cloak that looks like a dress-"
"I didn't design the cloaks, Sasuke" Itachi replied.
"Still wore it" Sasuke said.
"You're impossible"
"But you still love me"
"Don't make me change my mind"
"You already turned down the offer to hate me. Sucks to be you" Sasuke replied.
"Hana!" Itachi called with a wave the female inuzuka catching his eye.
"Uh....Itachi?" Sasuke questioned nervously, but his brother didn't answer him.
"Um...hi Sasuke..." Kiba frowned. The inuzuka having been with his sister.
"Hey" Sasuke replied both boys staring up at their older siblings in horror as Itachi grabbed Hana's wrist pulling her close to him then wrapped his arm's around her waist and kissed her on the lips. The female inuzuka's eyes closing as she melted into the kiss.
Both boys mouths were dropped open with widened eyes. What the fuck!?
All too soon for Hana Itachi pulled away.
"Oh wow.... that came out of nowhere Itachi!" Hana stated surprised but she was elated.
"Hana I need to ask you something very important now," Itachi told her.
"Anything" Hana breathed.
"Where can I find purple rouge number six?" Itachi questioned.
Hana looked at him confused. She had been expecting him to ask her out! What was he talking about nail polish for?
"Why would you need that?" Hana questioned.
"Sasuke's thinking about going transgender" Itachi told her.
"Itachi!" Sasuke exclaimed in protest. Kiba looked at him weirded out.
"Oh don't worry little guy. There's nothing wrong with being in touch with your feminine side. Itachi your such a good older brother for supporting him" Hana gushed.
"Dude....What the fuck?" Kiba questioned.
"Hn" Sasuke replied.
"No I mean why would you want purple rouge number six? With your skin tone I'd say your more of a blue midnight number 7." Kiba told him.
"You've been spending to much time with your girlfriend" Sasuke told the inuzuka.
"Heh....maybe" Kiba said scratching the back of his head.
Hana told Itachi what store had the polish and the Uchiha grabbed Sasuke's hand pulling him along as he thanked Hana.
"Why'd you do that!?" Sasuke complained.
"Kiss Hana?" Itachi questioned.
"Yes! News flash Itachi I don't want to have any relation to kiba!" Sasuke exclaimed.
"It was one kiss Sasuke. I just wanted to make sure I didn't feel anything with her before I put her down" Itachi told him.
"Did you have to do it in front of me and Kiba? I think he's scarred" Sasuke commented.
"He'll get over it. So will you"
"If I have nightmares tonight I'm setting your bed on fire" Sasuke warned as Itachi grabbed the nail polish he wanted from the shop. Sasuke not noticing that Itachi grabbed Midnight Blue number 7, Orange sunset number 7, and Sunrise Pink number 7 as well as purple rouge number 6.
"You know now I'm beginning to see why you were labeled insane. Perhaps you should get tested again" Itachi told his brother as they walked out of the shop after paying.
"Do you want me to get put in a psyche ward? Because I wouldn't pass it. Neither would Naruto actually." Sasuke replied shoving his hands in his pockets.
"I don't know. You've already killed me once. I'm not sure how safe I feel with a psychotic baby brother."
"You could ask kankuro or Ai for tips" Sasuke replied with a wince. He knew his brother was just joking but it still hurt.
"Like their brothers are at your level" Itachi replied.
"Hn" Sasuke replied.
"Itachi?" Sasuke asked as Itachi suddenly stared in the direction of the compound with a horrified terrified expression.
Itachi dropped the bag he was holding breaking into a run. The nail polishes shattering when they hit the ground. Sasuke looked down at the bag before racing after his brother. When the buildings were moved out of Sasuke's line of sight Sasuke was able to get a clear view of the compound.What the youngest Uchiha saw made his heart drop and crack shattering like those nail polishes. He felt like he would throw up or pass out. Possibly even both. The entire compound was....
On fire.
