gabbys POV
I woke up and felt so much better and I looked around and saw kayla and Hayes awake and dressed in the kitchen.
"Maura I'm going to our old schools football game to meet up with people, Hayes is coming are you?" kayla asked
"give me 30 minutes" I said and got up and got in the shower.
I got out and changed into white Jean shorts and an old cheer tshirt.
I wore my hair with its natural waves and out sunglasses on my head to hood it back, that's my go to move.
I did my makeup then put on converse and we left.
Cameron dropped us off and kayla imminently ran off with her old friends.
"what's wrong?" Hayes asked
"nothing, wanna get a drink?" I asked
"yeah come on" he said and held my hand.
we got to the drink stand and I saw this kid Sammy working there, "well well, look who's back in town, how have you been gab?" he asked
"good and yourself?" I asked
"I've been good, we miss your pretty face in school" he said
"aw how sweet" I said
"are you free later tonight, we should catch up" he said
"no sorry, I have something" I said
"yo can I just have a lemonade and iced tea" Hayes said
"yeah" Sammy said and got us the drinks and we paid.
"bye gab, text me if your schedule changed, I would love to catch up" he said
"ok" I said and we walked away.
"miss seeing your pretty face" Hayes mimicked.
"oh stop being jealous" I said and grabbed his hand.
we sat down and I saw my friend nick coming towards me.
"Gabriella, oh my god, it's been way too long bud" he said and hugged me and I hugged him back.
"nick! how is everything?" I asked
"it's good" he said
"we've gotta catch up, how's cheer been in La?" he asked
"oh I dont cheer anymore, how's soccer been you?" I asked
"great" he said
he eventually left and I saw this guy that used to ask me out coming up.
"Gabriella efron, so will you say yes to me asking you out now?" he asked
I laughed, "hi chuck, this is my boyfriend Hayes" I said
"so you go after dweebs like this but not me" he said
"he's not a dweeb, you're just jealous" I said joking around.
"alright well me you and Sammy have gotta hang out soon babe" he said
"alright" I said
he kept on talking and talking, "since you can't hang tonight how about we catch up now and find your boyfriend a girl to talk to" chuck said
"ABBY" chuck called before I could get anything out, I hate Abby, she's a rumor starting slut.
"hey chuck" she said coming up to us.
"you remember gabby don't ya?" he asked
"oh yeah the one that got with my ex boyfriend, how are you?" she asked
"funny because I was prude until this year" I said
"wow pathetic" she said
"you're Hayes Grier" she said
"uh yeah" Hayes said
"how bout you and Hayes hang out while I take gabby for a little while" chuck said
"alright I sat back and listened to you hit on my girlfriend long enough, please leave now" Hayes said
"wait wait, you're dating that?" Abby asked and pointed to me.
"yeah I am" Hayes said
she grabbed his head and tried kissing him but he managed to push her off quick enough.
"what the hell" Hayes said
"just get with me, she deserves to watch" Abby said
"no she doesn't, and I don't get with girls that act like you" Hayes said and walked away.
"why is he dating you" Abby asked
"can you leave me alone" I asked
I got up and followed Hayes, "hayes I'm sorry" I said
"ok" he said
"I did nothing wrong, just because chuck said stuff to me doesn't mean I did things wrong" I said
"alright" he said and walked away.
he came back a minute later with kayla.
"we're leaving before I lose Gabriella" he said
"aw" kayla said
"Hayes why would you think you're gonna lose me, none of these guys have anything compared to you" I said
he grabbed my face and kissed me, "we're leaving still" he said
"let's go love birds" kayla said
we called Cameron and he was on his way when all the girls started going crazy and mobbing Hayes and pushing me and kayla away.
"well uh there's like 300 girls here now" kayla said
I saw Cameron pull up and I got in the car.
"please don't tell me Hayes is in there" Cameron said
"he's in there" kayla said
"Cameron don't go out there, they'll get worse, I will" I said and got out and pushed my way through girls.
I got to Hayes and saw some girl yelling in his face, "YOURE A PIECE OF CRAP. GO KILL YOURSELF YOU SHOULDNT EVEN BE FAMOUS YOU DICK" that is what I heard before I zoned it out and just kept making my way to him.
I got to him and saw he was crying.
"Hayes brush it off, stand up straight, you're okay" I said and wrapped my arms around his neck.
he picked me up and pushed through girls and one grabbed my hair.
Hayes got her hand off of my hair and kept walking and that girl that was saying mean stuff was behind us.
"you guys are both famous for nothing and Gabriella is only here because of her brother and Hayes is ugly and fat and mean and stuck up and good for nothing" she yelled, I felt Hayes body go soft because that hurt him.
"Hayes I love you, it isn't true" I whispered in his ear.
"damn gabby, you're fine but I agree with her, you're good for nothing just like you're boyfriend" he yelled
Hayes put me down and turned around and punched him in the face and the guy dropped to the ground then got up and started punching Hayes and Hayes was punching back.
"HAYES STOP" I yelled, I hate fights, they make me sick.
it started getting bad, I sprinted to the car.
"CAM HELP HAYES IS FIGHTING WITH A GUY" I yelled
Cameron got out of the car and ran into the middle and I didn't follow him because I knew I was gonna throw up.
I found a trash can and threw up in it and got in the car and saw Cameron back carrying Hayes over his shoulder.
he put Hayes in the car and started driving, Hayes eye was already swollen.
"what the hell was that Hayes" I asked
"I wasn't gonna sit there and let him stay stuff about you gab, he can say stuff about me but not you" he said
"don't worry about what he says about me, you brush it off" I said
"listen all of you stop. we have a show in an hour and you both need to pull yourselves together" Cameron said
we got to the hotel and went up to our room and Hayes got in the shower.
I changed my shirt into a nicer one and fixed my hair.
Hayes got out of the shower and was crying.
"what hurts?" I asked
"my fucking feelings Gabriella" he said
"I'm sorry" I said
"no not by you" he said
"Come here" I said opened my arms and he just hugged me.
he cleaned his face up and we left and met the guys and kayla down stairs.
"rough day for the babies" Nash said and hugged us.
"kaylas the baby" I said
"how old is she?" Nash asked
"13" I said
"aw she is" Cameron said and squeezed her cheeks.
we did the show and it went well for tonight.
"alright listen, today was a little rough. everyone go to their rooms and relax, we leave tomorrow morning at 7, be in the lobby by 6:45" Nash said and we all went to our rooms.
I got changed into sweat pants and a hoodie and so did kayla and Hayes.
"yo guys lets go get cheese steaks" Hayes said
"I'm tired" kayla said and laid down.
"alright well we're going" I said
me and Hayes put on shoes and ran out of the hotel.
I jumped on Hayes back and he walked to the cheese steak place and we ordered and sat down.
we ate and Hayes was shocked by how good they were.
"we're closing kids, you need to leave" the guy working said
"bye thank you, have a good night" Hayes said and we left.
"GAB YOURE WEARING 2 DIFFERENT SHOES" Hayes said and started laughing, i looked down and was wearing one white converse and one black van.
"stop" I said and he took a picture.
"Sstooppppp" I said and started running and he chased me.
we got back to the hotel and I took my shoes off and laid down next to kayla.
me and Hayes turned on Friday night lights and watched it until we fell asleep.
