chapter 78

gabbys pov

i woke up and looked at the clock, friday 8:32.

one more day then i leave for a little while, i rolled out of bed and fixed my hair then went downstairs.

"good morning" dylan said

"morning" i said

"i got you an iced coffee, it's in the fridge" he said

"thank you" i said and went and got it and drank it.

"what's the plans for today?" dylan asked

"i'm gonna walk zan then go say bye to the guys because they're leaving then i'm gonna go get some clothes and stuff" i said

"can i come?" he asked

"if you really want to" i said

"i'll come shopping with you, i'll be ready when you get back from walking the dog" he said and ran upstairs.

i went upstairs and put on running shorts and a tank top and put my hair up.

i hooked zan on the leash and left.

we walked to the guys house and when i got there they were packing cars.

"we're coming to say bye" i said

zan ran and started jumping on nash, "DOWN. SIT" i yelled and he immediately responded.

"good boy" i said

i gave all the guys hugs and told them they better call and then went back home.

i was walking home when i heard a blood curdling scream come from a house.

2 minutes later some girl probably a little older then me ran out, all bloody and grabbed me, "help he has a gun" she said

"run" i said and we both started running.

"STOP OR ILL SHOOT" the guy said

"don't stop he'll still shoot" she said so we kept running.

i felt the worst pain ever right in the back, i dropped to the ground and felt it again.

i saw the guy run past me and after the girl, i couldn't move.

i called dylan, "help dylan help" i said

"where are you what's wrong" he said and i blacked out.

6 hours later

i woke up in a hospital bed with tubes and wires everywhere.

i looked around and saw no one.

i started to panic, my machines started getting loud and going faster and doctors started rushing in.

"you're okay babe, relax. take a deep breath" a doctor said. he was young and cute.

"where's my brothers" i asked

"they're in the waiting room along with like 10 other guys" he said

"can they come back here?" i asked

"yeah, i'll send them back" he said

a few minutes later i saw hayes walk in.

"hey pretty girl, how ya feeling?" he asked

"come give me a hug right now" i said

hayes came over and hugged me, "you didn't answer my question, how are you feeling?" he asked

"better, why are you out?" i asked

"they didn't know how you were gonna do and i was gonna know your life was in harm and you were in pain and i wasn't doing anything to help. i'm better now gabriella. i pinky promise you that. i'm me now" hayes said and kissed my forehead.

"i trust you" i said

"knock knock" zac said and him dylan and kayla came in followed by all the guys and luke and sam.

"hey, don't think we're not gonna wait for you for tour" luke said

"you're the best" i said

all the guys gave me a hug, i felt a sharp shooting pain in my back.

"what's wrong" zac asked

"nothing i'm fine" i said

the doctor came in, "alright here's what's going on. we're gonna take you into another surgery tomorrow morning  at 6:30 then you're gonna have to stay for 3 days to recover and all. then you'll go home and be back i your feet and feeling back to normal in a week" he said

"thank you" i said

"what's the surgery" zac asked

"so we removed as much of the bullets as we could but she was in bad condition so we had no choice but to close her up and get her blood pressure and heart rate normal. so today we're gonna go in and remove the small pieces that are left" the doctor said

"and what are the risks?" zac asked

"there's risks with every surgery, the risks for this surgery are a little scarier because it's in her back and she's small. so risks are being paralyzed if we hit  wrong spot in her back but that's never happened here before. spine problems and then trouble walking. sometimes it can also play factor in you're arms and hands but that's unlikely also, all that would do is give her trouble using her hands for long periods of time without cramping" the doctor said

"okay. thank you" zac said

"i'm really hungry, am i aloud to eat" i asked

"not until after surgery" the doctor said and left the room.

"you alright?" hayes asked

"yeah" i said

"it's late we're all gonna head home, we will be back an hour before the surgery tomorrow ok?" dylan said

"yeah" i said

"i'll stay" hayes said

"thanks" i said and everyone else kissed my head and left.

i started crying, "what's wrong" hayes said

"i just wanna go home and i'm hungry. like really really hungry" i said

"i'm sorry, and you'll be home soon" he said and laid down next to me and just hugged me.

"you're the best" i said

"look i got my phone back today too" he said and pulled it out of his pocket.

"yay" i said

he went on snapchat and took a picture of us, "missed my numba 1" he captioned it and put it on his story.

"i'm glad you're back and feeling good" i said

"can we watch cupcake wars" i said

"i mean i guess so" hayes said

i got it on the tv and we just laid down watching cupcake wars all night and talking. i'm so happy to have him back.
